I had so much fun here on a Friday night! This Korean style karaoke place has private rooms that you can rent for your group of friends. The song selection can be expanded through the youtube access, so you can have a bigger variety of songs available to you. So you can pick songs from any language too- English, Korean, Chinese etc. The food and drinks are great here and that makes it easy to spend hours here. The service is nice and they are friendly. The portions are shareable or standalone depending how hungry you are. The only food I was slightly disappointed in was the cheesy kimchi tater tots just because they used nacho cheese & not melted mozzarella like they do with most korean foods. Hands down the best Karaoke experience we've ever had thanks to Liz and Woody. Absolutely amazing customer service and they brought the vibes. We rented out a large room and they were kind enough to let me bring decorations and my own cake. The food was mind blowingly delicious and the drinks were amazing Strawberry Sochu is a must The large "OB" beer is like the perfect Golden Ale. Spoiler alert: you can do shots with your friends that have full on pyrotechnics and it's so fun and memorable. The bar had a bunch of regulars just chilling and you can tell that they come back because of how fun the staff makes it. I don't know how to briefly describe this place except that it's weird (good weird) and the staff are really friendly. My wife took me to Green Light for a surprise birthday night out. When we arrived, I decided "This place looks sketchy as hell," from the outside. Inside was a different story -- right at the entrance there's a bar, a small eating area, and walls of televisions playing nonstop K-pop videos. We first had dinner: * Pineapple soju cocktail (pretty good) * Beef japchae (looked iffy, but it tasted great) * Fish egg soup (which is just what it sounds like; fish eggs in hot soup) * Chicken wings (extremely sweet, which we normally don't like, but the way they prepared it was yummy) We enjoyed dinner, but I'd point out this place is not really a restaurant. It's a karaoke bar that happens to have a few chairs you can sit in to eat. On the other hand, their chef is quite skilled, so.. After dinner, we sang and drank more booze. Song selection (English and Chinese) is average. If you've been to other Korean karaoke bars before, the keypad and the rest of the experience are pretty standard. Acceptable. Again, staff are pleasantly friendly. The crowd here seemed to be mostly American, and half of them seemed to be regulars (who knew the bartender). The past three times I've come into town, I've stopped at Green Light Karaoke to finish off my nights and each and everytime, I've enjoyed myself so much that in the blink of an eye - it's 2 AM. The service staff is so nice, welcoming and inviting. Liz is my girl!! She takes such good care of us, making sure we had everything we needed from food, to drinks, to different music. I would go back for her alone! I have been to a couple of other karaoke places in town and this one is really the homiest. The rooms are large enough for bigger groups, but they also feel so personal, cozy and intimate. The food was also insanely good. I am most thankful to yelp for helping me out in finding this gem! I should have done a better job at planning my cousin's bachelorette outing but it all worked out. The usual place I have gone for karaoke on the North Side was full until after midnight so I found this on yelp and called to ask about fitting about 10 of us at around 10pm. I regret not getting the young man's name on the phone or the girl server's name to pay them my compliments for their service. They really did accommodate our requests each step of the way. Once they found out it was my cousin's bachelorette, they brought her a drink and even brought us bachelorette type of card games. Very thoughtful. The place looks quite unassuming from the outside but their rooms are very well spaced from each other and they were very helpful in teaching us how to work the karaoke controls. Parking was not an issue as majority of us parked right in front. I will surely be back for karaoke and would love to try the food as it looked quite delicious as we walked past the bar/dining area. There was no minimum time required or minimum number of drinks which I think was a plus. read more

This place is awesome. We had a party for my girlfriends birthday in the large room which easily held about 23 people. The drinks were great and reasonably priced. The staff could not have been nicer or more accommodating. Almost everyone at the party came up to me to say that they wanted to come back. The karaoke is great, the machine can be a little tricky but if you have trouble with it you can always use your phone to play karaoke on YouTube. I didn't like the setup, only 2 mics. The key pad was big and bulky, the songs were limited and the videos were all Korean videos and voice overs that didn't match the original American songs at all. The table was u shaped so it was difficult to move around or get in and out with 6 people in one small space. The drink menu was unique and the food smelled really good. I was charged a service fee without being told but the manager said it was in the policy, I didn't see that anywhere so he took it off upon my request. I definitely don't like hidden fees especially when no one serviced us and we got our own drinks. I will definitely go back to my other spot Lincoln karaoke much better setup! read more

While we only came here for the karaoke, I would still give Greenlight a 4 star on that experience alone. Our relatively large group was greeted and seated into our private room rather quickly and with courteous service. Karaoke is always a fun time and Greenlight was no different. Though I will say we did experience a few technical difficulties such as one mike dying a few times, odd voice echo, and the occasional mike screech (no it wasn't just our bad singing).The user interface remains unintuitive unless you can read Korean but we managed to stumble our way through. This was my first time coming to a bar, much less a Korean bar but I was not disappointed! The bonus is that it has karaoke, which was also a first, and it was great... the atmosphere is comfortable, chill and very laid back. I felt very at home and welcomed with my friends, they have tons of different choices of music to choose from whether you're a fan of American music such as My Chemical Romance to BTS or any Korean artist you can think of. The inside of the bar is very beautiful and quite modern, you have a big menu to choose from as well as all the alcohol you could want, it's basically heaven. Sabrina was so sweet and helped us whenever we needed, and Woody, the bartender was nothing but accommodating and also very talented at what he does, the "fire trick" being one of many, just ask!! I def recommend this place to anyone whether you want to just sit, have some drinks with a bite or drink and sing to your hearts content, there is something for everyone!
