Came here as it was in walking distance after a nearby wine tasting. What can I say...some weeks call for an extra libation. I had been wanting to try Industry Ales when it opened and was glad to have had the opportunity to finally check it out! I was slightly thrown off, as the dining tables are at the front of this space, and the bar is all the way at the back. In fact, my friend at first glance thought it was a sit-down dining establishment sans bar seating. We found our way to the bar and posted up at two seats. We were offered menus right away and found the bartender extremely knowledgeable. This was super helpful when facing down an encyclopedia of ales. He offered samples when we explained what we were looking for. That is service above and beyond, especially on a bustling Friday early evening. The brews were tasty, but I couldn't really discern what I was drinking apart to say it was a lighter Belgian Ale. Wine is more in my wheelhouse, but always good to change things up, especially when a person has the opportunity to be guided by an expert. The people seated nearby had ordered the tuna tartare which looked delicious. In fact, all of the menu is globally influenced (think: pizza samosas, pierogis, Korean BBQ) in addition to the classic brewpub favorites. In addition to the Brewpub, this location features the Millroom, a speakeasy-style lounge. I did not have a chance to check that out on this visit. Industry Ales is a cool space with great food. The main area is quite loud so be prepared to speak up! I was expecting a more of a brew pub vibe when I went and I was surprised that it is restaurant that takes its food seriously. The chef is inspired by his European heritage and has some very unique dishes. We tried the seasonal squash pierogies and they were delicious. Checked out this hip looking brewery. It certainly is one of the many places to go to in The Loop. Industry Ales is a place that has a lot more than just beers, which is a good choice, because there's all kinds of people who crowd in and want to have fun times. Amazing that fun isn't always beers and chugging. The food is actually good and can be talked about in reviews because some people actually come here to eat, which tells you how they actually have a kitchen. Believe everything is good here but we came for the beers of course. It's certainly the main product made here so why wouldn't it be important. They make more than you can believe which is impressive because there's all kinds of crowds who pass through. For sure everyone wants beer. It's $6 a pint at happy hour. Pretty great for craft beers compared to lots of places it seems. Best one we got was the Bucket Hat. This is a Belgian style witbier. Has notes of bubble gum, coriander, and orange. The food isn't an afterthought so get some of that. It's about $18 for a burger. Vegans have options. Certainly one of these is the Veggie Burger. This is an amazing thing with a spinach patty topped with chipotle tomato marmalade, cremini mushrooms, mixed greens, pickled red onions, and sweet potatoes. All on a fluffy ciabatta bun. The rest of the menu contains meaty stuff. For sure it feels like a place for the hipsters but it's pretty great for anyone. It's located at the intersection of Jackson and Wabash close to lots of fun. The brewery has food that's better than expected but many other things about this kind of stuff are typical. read more

So glad my friends suggested this place! I work in the loop so rarely do I want to come back to the neighborhood on the weekends or late night for dinner. But I will say I am definitely wrong! Came here on a Friday with a large group of friends for dinner and some drinks. The beers and cocktails were awesome and unique, but the food truly stole the show! I chose a special for that day, which was the Brisket Tacos, and OMG. These things were incredible! Not to mention so much food for one person (who doesn't love leftovers?!) We could not stop raving about how great everyone's meal was. Downstairs a bit later they had a live band performing, and it got packed pretty quick! Stopped here to grab a bite and watch some games. The burgers were pretty delicious. I had the smash burger and honestly it made me crave more because it was so good (I added the brisket bacon and I do not regret it). "The Burger" was a little less exciting but still good! I just felt that it was a little dry. The drink menu was very unique and the beer was good as well! I didn't get a picture of the spicy salmon roll but it was HUGE! I wish they did a little better with the proportion of how things were filled inside though (I'd give it a 3.9/5). We have tried several times before to get in, but there's always a long wait. We finally came by on a random weeknight and got right in. I like the aesthetic in here. It's very masculine meets warehouse but make it old school/historical. It's a good thing. Our server was good and with the exception of a few things being out on the tap list, I think there were plenty of options to choose from. I enjoyed the avocado Caesar and I have no complaints. Finally stopped by on a Saturday night - the loop was sorely missing a good brewery for many years and Industry Ales has luckily stepped in to fill that niche. My friend and I didn't have a reservation, but had no problem grabbing 2 seats up at the bar. Great spot to post up apparently because we met 2 of the owners - one was working behind the bar and gave me a passionate explanation when I asked about one of their ales. All of the service we encountered was great. For beer, I tried a flight to get a good sampling, and the Disco Helmet was my favorite. For food, I went with the mussels but they were just ok - still mourning the loss of the amazing mussels at Fisk&Co (rip). Hidden gem under the El tracks on Wabash. Have been wanting to try this place for a while and glad I finally had the chance. Wonderful staff with attentive service! The inside is surprisingly nice for a brewery with really nice decor throughout. The beers were really good and they brew on site which is really cool. Well, this was disappointing. Big place, almost empty on a Saturday night was the first bad sign. I had the special called a Tokyo burger. No idea what Tokyo had to do with it. Double patty cheeseburger cut in half and placed face down in a pool of beer cheese in a hot skillet. The cheese absolutely overwhelmed everything, and not in a good way. Donna had "the burger", not pictured. She was not impressed, but I liked it better than mine because you could actually taste the beef. The menu said hand cut fries (which were not included with the burgers). When asked if that meant fresh cut, the server said they were not, but were really good. They were not. Beers were just fine, but I saw no evidence of a brewery in the place. Lastly, if you pay North of 20 bucks for a burger, it should come with fries! read more

Industry Ales is a solid place to visit before a show or for a work happy hour. It's around the corner from the CSO, and has a much better vibe than the places on Michigan. The drinks are solid, with an interesting draught beer menu. The food we've tried has been good. I wish there were a bit more variety. The staff are very friendly, but the service itself can be a bit hit or miss. From our visits, it usually takes a while for someone to stop by and get your drink orders. And then the pace of the dinner and clean-up is such that it feels like they are rushing you out the door. We recommend and will continue returning. read more

Prior to attending a show at the Chicago Theater, we met up here with friends for a quick bite. I picked Industry Ales for its proximity to the theater and its menu. One of our friends is a pickier eater than me. The space is really nice, narrow but goes back aways. There's also a basement my husband was at for a private event. It's not just a brewery, they have a full bar, cocktail menu, and spirit free cocktail options. I was pleased to see the latter as someone who is off booze indefinitely. Our server was nice and attentive. I always appreciate when a server will help with a dilemma rather than say everything is great. It feels like a slight to call the menu elevated bar food, but that's the best description I can think of. I ordered the pierogi, my husband the smashburger and a side of the carrots. Our friends got salads. Everyone enjoyed their meals and the carrots were really good. For dessert my husband and I split the brownie, which was the only knock on the food. It was a skillet brownie, I recommend a smaller, mini skillet as it looked small compared to the pan. The brownie looked like rather than skillet cooked, it was fired under a broiler. Ours was fired too long as the edges looked burnt. Tastewise it was ok one out was cool enough to eat. My lovely wife and I have been wanting to try out Industry Ales after seeing the fairly new Loop brewpub featured on a local show, and so we finally paid them a visit last Saturday afternoon. The design of the interior sports an industrial-chic coolness to it, with these "hoppy" light fixtures hanging in the bar area. We sat at the bar, as we only had a beer flight and did not have any food. The favorite of the four pours we enjoyed was the Out of Focus IPA, sort of a salute to the famous "storefront neighbor" Central Camera store. The place is very loud, and the beer flight glasses were covered in beer as they seemed to have an issue with foam on the day we were there. Not sure if that's an all-the-time thing or not. We sat in front of some taps, and bartenders were over-filling glasses to rid them of foam, making for a lot of spillage on the glass exteriors. My friends and I visited Industry Ales for apps and drinks at 9pm on a Friday night. We originally made a reservation, but you should be fine also trying to do a walk in. Every single member of the staff at Industry Ales was friendly and accommodating. They really have some amazing people on their team. Even though this place is a brew-pub, they also have a full line-up of craft cocktails in addition to their beers. My first cocktail was the Interwar and this cocktail featured ingredients such as scotch, luxardo, and ginger. It is a great summer cocktail. My second cocktail was the Route 66 and I loved the tiki flavor profile. This one was my favorite out of the two, but both were excellent. To eat, I tried the albondigas. This dish consisted of meatballs over grits. The meatballs were tasty. The one thing that missed the mark for me was the grits. The grits were so thin and watery. I'm not sure if this was on purpose or not, but I think that thicker grits would have worked better. read more

We came here after sampling the beer at Beer Under Glass. I like Miller's Pub but I wanted to go in and try this place. It was 8pm or so post movie at Siskel Center. The decor (hanging lights shaped like hops) and tribute to Central Camera were cool and touching. There are multiple tvs, ideal for sports watching. I regret I forgot what beer I had (I want to say it was a Witbier or brown ale?) but we also had salmon brandade: salmon and warm cheese mixed with sourdough. I had never heard of it before but it was good! The service was good too; the bartender spoke to us about Beer Under Glass, and of course beer. He was efficient and knowledgeable. My party decided to have wine instead of beer, which she enjoyed. We will definitely head back for a flight soon. read more

I wanted the sweet potato gnocchi but they sold out due to Chicago Marathon weekend. The beer muscles are so amazing!! We got a side of fries as recommended but Alex who was taking care of us. Such a great idea. The muscles themselves come with sourdough it just gave us more options to soak up the broth left over from the mussels. Definitely worth the price. All day happy hour makes this place affordable and delicious. Yes the beer was great. Chicago loves saisons so I tried the La Pierre. A great light option with a little funk. The dining room area had white tile walls and more intimate seating, while the bar area had high top tables and a few TVs with sports playing. We walked in without a reservation, early on a Sunday evening, and we were seated right away. The service was amazing from start to finish. My husband loved the very sizable burger (add the brisket bacon for a real treat), and the fries were perfectly salty. My Harvest Salad was good, though a little heavy on the dressing. The Supper Club At Industry Ales Brewpub on June 27, 2025 was a standout event, showcasing Chef Steve's culinary expertise through an Italian themed menu. The cozy atmosphere facilitated a strong sense of community, allowing guests to establish new friendships. One of my friends who attended said " It was an intimate communal table and loved every minute of getting to know strangers who I felt became friends during the event". I lived in the loop for years before leaving and this place has come up since then. It is a welcome addition to the neighborhood with a great vibe. TLDR: Oof. This was a flop. Beers on tap are limited and the food was very inconsistent. I ordered a flight of their beers and quite enjoyed 3 of the beers. For food, we ordered the XO Beef Skewers, which were so tough that you definitely couldn't eat it off the skewers. The skewers were also kinda flimsy that some of them broke off inside the meat when we tried to pull out the skewers. The sauce was good but the quality of the beef was questionable. The Brisket Rillettes came out looking like a potato (see pic). The flavor of the dish itself wasn't bad but the mustard that came with it really sucked... it tasted like cheap store-bought mustard, which just didn't do it for the rillettes. The burger was actually pretty solid but nothing to write home about, especially in Chicago. The Chicken Asado had a lovely corn sauce and the chicken itself with the elote crema (corn sauce) was tasty! The rice that came with it was horrible... it was supposed to be cilantro rice with salsa verde but all I tasted was bitterness. No other flavors. Literally had one bite and hated it. If you're here for just a drink, I'm sure you'll be fine. Or maybe if you're just getting the burger--but I wouldn't eat here again. Monk's has better beer options and burgers, imho. read more

It didn't look like anyone was here when we arrived, but we were taken back and seated close to the bar where we had great views of all the TVs.
