I was invited out with some friends and they chose Green Mill. I have had issues with this place before and was kind of hesitant to go back. We ordered a few appetizers, pizzas, and a calzone. The food was way better than I remember it. The boneless wings were full of awesome juicy whit meat chicken. The pizzas were very tasty but a tad greasy. The calzone was super full and the crust was perfectly cooked through. Our server was super nice. She looked a bit overwhelmed but I feel she did a great job. Food is great. Service is outstanding. Don't bother to ever try ordering online. For months their website has refused to recognize any credit or bank card we try to use (commonplace cards, Visa etc). I've passed this feedback to them multiple times but correcting the website seems to be not a priority for months on end. Ordered over $100 worth of pizza a day ahead - for delivery the next night at/around 8:30. Got immediate e-mail confirmation & everything was correct. The next day I get an e-mail at 6:41 that my order was "completed". (So the pizzas that were to be delivered at 8:30 were ready at 6:41?) The delivery driver shows up with the pizzas about 7:40 - again, for a scheduled 8:30 delivery. Since we weren't expecting them that soon no one was listening for a call/text - and since the delivery was to a school he couldn't just ring the doorbell/knock. At 8:00 we check the phone to discover 4 missed calls from the driver. Called him back and he said since he couldn't reach us he just brought the pizzas back to the store. Said he'd bring them back in about 15 minutes - which he did. So, the pizzas all appear to have been made 2 hours before they were to be delivered - and then attempted to be delivered a good 50 minutes before requested, and it showed. The boxes were cold, the pizzas were cold, and so the quality suffered greatly. They seemed like they would have been good if they'd have been hot - but they weren't even warm. And since we had no way to try to warm them up in the school we all just had to eat old, cold pizza. Sadly, I sent them an e-mail a day or two later about it - just as an FYI, not asking for anything - and they never even acknowledged the e-mail. You'd think they'd at least apologize. So - that's probably the last time we'll use them for pizza. While eating in might be fine, I wouldn't suggest taking a chance on take-out....especially if want a scheduled delivery. read more

there pizza use to be the best, nothing could touch it. the last half a dozen times i have order the pizza it's nothing like it use to be, down hill would be an understatement, i recently got the deep dish sicilian one it was nasty could not even finish one piece. it was over whelming flavor or garlic and onion with no other flavor present and the sauce was no good. pretty sure Chef Boyardee could have made better pizza sauce. i will say this there burgers and some of the pasta's are still decent quality and salads. but if you want a pizza i would suggest tomestone over greenmill at this point. read more

I'm not sure when the prices at GM started to rival those of Kincaid's. We spent nearly $100 for the three of us to eat here. I guess that wouldn't bother us much if the quality of the food were higher. We came because of a free pizza coupon. We always get these to go so that we can fix them at home by adding our own ingredients. It's advisable to get the thinner crust on your pizza if you get pizza here. On this visit we sat at our table for quite a while before anyone came to take even a drink order. We were considering leaving when a guy showed up to apologize. It was several minutes later when the waitress showed up and asked us what we wanted to drink. We ordered the cheese focaccia bread at the same time. We had a debate about this bread because they put shredded parmesan on the top of it so it makes one think that the bread should not be pulled apart so that you can put on tomato sauce (won't call that marinara). I pull it apart, as did we all because there's baked cheese on the facing sides of both portions of bread. No idea why the parmesan is sprinkled on the outside. The Boy got spaghetti and meatballs. The hub got seafood linguine, and I got the chicken-mushroom alfredo. The Boy always gets the S&M if he has pasta here. So, I'm assuming it's edible enough for him He is a 13 year-old Hoover, so take the endorsement in stride. The other pasta dishes were ok. For me, I would have liked more mushrooms. I LOVE mushrooms, so the more, the better. Hub didn't say anything about his pasta other than it was "alright". A coupon will probably bring us back, eventually. If you order a bottle of wine make sure to tell them to open it at the table which is proper. They brought us an opened bottle to the table. I would not recommend this location. came. to attend a party after a concert for an organization on which I am a board member. As a person who is non-binary and deaf and blind, found the place, overwhelming, loud. I had to walk far into the restaurant before assistance was offered by a staff member. I was miss gendered, experienced ableism and impatience for me to move out of the way by several weight staff members. They showed lack of sensitivity in interacting with a guest who is deaf/blind and non-binary. they also it to me that they were stressed about having to serve such a large group of people. When accidentally walking outside, I was yelled at for walking into the employee area. Being deaf and blind, I am not familiar with the restaurant I did not know where I was going. One person offered assistance, and as this person was offering assistance and manager came out to yell at me that I was in the wrong area. it was a frightening, overwhelming, and horrible experience. The Il Primo pizza description mentioned four different types of cheese. Safe to assume this would be dripping in chessy goodness. Guess not. The sauce was dried out on top, toppings (pepperoni, mushroom, and sausage) were scant, and the term "deep" in deep dish was loosely applied. Also, call me crazy, but when I read "diablo" wings, it brings to mind hot, hot wings. Yes, shoudl've read description and not assumed, but I didn't expect honey wings w/ zero heat. While i'm staying picky, the plates of wings included a ratio of 8 "wings" to 2 "drummies". Just saying. Yes, i'm miffed while writing the review, but I raved about green mill and pushed for this as our destiniation, only to leave upset and let down. As for service, she wasn't too bad, though the time between check drop-off and pick-up was 15 minutes. Again, i was ticked at the end, so the singing busboy floating by our table only did more to infuriate me. The original Green Mill on Hamline is the best! I've been going there since it was a 3.2 burger joint. Best deep dish pizzas I've ever had! Sausage & onion! My daughter gets the Buffalo wings. My wife adds the chocolate cake. The rest of the menu looks good, but we never get past the pizzas. Great online ordering during the pandemic, too.
