Loved them when they were out in Montverde but it's even better now that they're closer to me in Clermont! Not many (do any?) places make their own bread on-site in the area, so knowing how fresh this food is should keep you a customer for life. The Food: If you're coming here looking for the best brick-oven in the area, you've found it. Just get a slice if you don't want to commit to a full pie and if you order online be prepared to save some $. Steak & Cheese is your next go-to on the menu, but the surprise WOW item is their burgers and breakfast sandwiches on their homemade bun. YUM! They have gelato now which is such a great addition. I'll take my son and we'll eat up at the barstools and watch the cars go by on 50. Transparency in the restaurant industry is usually intentionally non-existent. There have been several top places in the area closed for various cleanliness issues that you'd think would have them shut down for life. But at Green Mountain, you never have to wonder if the kitchen is clean. You can just see for yourself since it's wide open. I love watching my pizza getting made! It's great having this take-out spot in my neighborhood now, and they're a welcome addition to Clermont! I'd pick Mom & Pop before a chain any day of the week, and this Mom & Pop has my heart. I'm from Chicago, so I am not easy to please when it comes to pizza. That being said, Green Mountain Pizza is everything this pizza-loving Chicagoan loves, perfectly baked pizza crust (not too thin, not too thick), deliciously seasoned sauce, and the freshest meat and vegetable toppings (we go for the deluxe veggie with added pepperoni). The perfect meal for our family is the above-named pizza paired with a Greek salad (how do you know it's good? fresh veggies and no scrimping on the cheese and olives). When we pick our meal up, we are always met with a friendly greeting, including a word from the owner. The restaurant is clean, you can actually see the kitchen, and the prices are competitive. We love the location, can get to it without fighting Clermont traffic on Highway 50. We appreciate the fact that this restaurant is family-owned, and would recommend Green Mountain to other pizza (and Italian food) lovers. read more
