We were a first time customer and couldn't have asked for more. conveniently located: Right off 280 on Race street off of Meridian. Pull up up parking, carts readily available to the left. I ended up taking my e-waste to GreenMouse when the original place we went to wasn't open during their posted business hours. GreenMouse folks were super friendly and we had the added bonus of enjoying their "electronics museum" in the office. What a great walk down memory lane! It's nice to take your e-waste to a place that you feel will recycle it in the "green-est" way possible! I was only charged for the printer ($5) and I didn't mind. I had made several calls trying to donate the printer and found out that due to new California laws no one will take them and there is a huge glut of them out there. read more

I called and left a message asking to call me back so I could better understand their services. I usually expect a call back within a reasonable time frame. I know that I was lucky in that the stars aligned and I fielded a return call within minutes. The woman (I really should have gotten her name) who called me back was extremely courteous and knowledgeable. During this pandemic time, most businesses give excuses on why they can't do something, but this woman was anything but that. She was positive and cheerful and wanted to ensure that all of my questions were answered. She really carried the company's banner! Job well done! read more

They don't do free pickups, which is what I was clearly told when I called up. I think they should do free pickups for large items like TVs, I am sure they make money out of recycling them especially if the TV is usable! Then I went ahead and called slmgt.com (Second Life Management) and they picked up my TV and speakers for free within couple of hours! read more

Today I went to drop off some electronics at recycling event at a local school. In the past, this was always free, so I was horrified when this group of scruffy looking guys in their 20's to 30's (not the boy scout troops or whomever who's done this in the past) told me I'd have to pay $40 to drop off a couple of small bags of computer cords and cables, 2 DVD players, a small microwave, and a brass lamp. I thought I was being gouged so I left without dropping anything off. I went home and called Green Mouse and the friendly owner told me I might have to pay as much as $20 to drop off my stuff. She explained why they have to charge now, which made total sense to me. Anyway, I took my stuff there immediately and they only charged me $10. I don't mind paying a nominal fee when disposing of recyclables because the price of these commodities is very low right now and so they can't sell it for as much as they could in the past when it was free to drop off. I recommend this business. The owner was great! The guy who unloaded my van was fast and helpful. The price was reasonable...too much of this stuff goes into the landfills and this business helps makes sure what can be reused gets reused. They also have a room full of vintage items from 1900-about 1960 that is fun to look at...old typewriters, records, cameras, computers. Fun! read more

They are open as advertised and don't require appointments. They gladly took a bunch of ewaste for free and charged $10 per hard drive I had shredded. The shredding machine es basically a set of giant gears that smash the living daylights out of the hard disk drive. You can hear the machine smashing the drive and also see the results afterwards. There are still intact pieces of the drive platters but they are all 1/4" or smaller. read more

These people don't even know what they take and what they don't without checking their own sign. I called to ask if they could take a DVD player, a VHS player and a TiVo and they said they did. So I drove all the way over there and they would take the TiVo but not the DVD player or VHS player. What's the difference anyway? read more

I was a little back and forth with this place because the first time I made an appointment with them, they didnt come during the time I asked them to ... so when they got here, none of my coworkers knew what needed to be taken, and so a few important things were left sitting in the office and we had to wait until we had more stuff to recycle. Luckily, that didn't take very long and I decided to give them a second chance because of the sweet lady on the phone! Those small things really make a difference to me. I had a great experience with GreenMouse Recycling. After cleaning out my storage closet, I had several old electronics to get rid of. An online search led me to GreenMouse Recycling. The website stated what items could and could not be donated, and I called to ask if I could bring items by without an appointment (like some facilities) and whether someone would be available to help me unload my items. I had the pleasure of speaking with Brianna who said, "Of course." When I arrived, Joel unloaded my 3 old TVs, VCR player and ancient desktop. At my request, he also shredded the hard drive in front of me :-) a service that cost only $10! When I met Brianna, she was just as pleasant in person as she had been on the phone. Well to start off I want to say how amazing the service is here. I was real hesitant on giving up my grandmas computers because all the sensitive material on the hard drive and i didnt want anything being compromised. Right when I walked in and was immediately approached by Jesse. I still go to Green Mouse, but wanted to leave an update: GMR no longer takes cd cases, cassette tapes, etc. You *can* now get your hard drive shredded there now, though--for no fee if you remove it yourself, $10 to have it removed for you. read more

What a wonderful experience! I arrived a few minutes after their closing time and they were still happy to take my old electronics off my hands. The lady at the main desk is so friendly! She noticed I was dropping off an old laptop and asked to be sure I'd removed the hard drive. What I love about this company is not just the nice employees and connivence of service, but Greenmouse is very philanthropic! Had an iMac and laptop that needed to be recycled. Both hard drives were intact so the man helping us had to take apart both devices to retrieve them. He didn't seem to mind that we watched him while he worked, even answering our random questions about electronic recycling. He even demoed the shredder with our hard drives. There was a fee for our service but I didn't mind, just glad to know that our information isn't floating around somewhere. read more

Actually got a friendly person on the phone when I called with questions about site hours (normally, it's just a machine). Dropped off 4 monitors and 2 towers with no hassle. You can drop off your electronics, appliances or DVDs/CDs there for free recycling (they are subsidized by the government). Nice people and a good way to avoid just dumping stuff to the trash. read more

They make it so easy! Convenient location, friendly professional staff and they accept a very wide variety of eWaste. First time I pulled up with a whole SUV load of electronics (stereos, speakers, appliances, computer towers, phones... you name it) and was greeting immediately by a very friendly guy who wheeled out the carts and took it all off my hands. In and out within a few minutes. You do have so get your info recorded if you are recycling anything with a screen (laptop, monitor, etc.) but that is super easy too. I've already taken three trips as I discover more and more eWaste lying around my house and every time has been the same great experience. They make the whole eWaste recycling process easier than dumping it and that is exactly how a recycling business should be run.
