I was so impressed by the efficiency and courtesy of GreenMouse recycling. Pulled up outside the door and a very friendly guy greeted me promptly with a cart onto which he helped me load my old electronics - laptop, printer, cables. Small fee to remove and destroy hard drive but great to watch the actual process and know that my old data was smashed to smithereens! Highly recommend! I never thought I'd be reviewing an e-cycling center, but here we are. I had two laptops, two phones, and a car stereo that had been sitting around taking up space in my apartment because I procrastinated. I thought finding and going to an e-cycling place would be a pain in the neck, but nope. The place was easy to find, parking was plentiful, and a guy came out to help me load up my stuff. Because I had laptops, they asked me to write down my name and address, not sure why, but the whole process took less than five minutes. Super easy, ecologically responsible, and environmentally friendly. Definitely take your old junk there! It does not belong in a landfill! read more

We've been looking for a way to destroy a collection of hard drives we had amassed over the years. GreenMouse provided that solution! At $5 each, I felt it was a fair price to pay to get rid of them. My roommate and I came on Sunday, not knowing that they were closed on Sundays, but were in luck: there was a lady in the office because of an event they were having. Despite being officially closed, she unlocked the door, took all of our cords and electronics, was extremely kind and courteous, didn't make us feel like we were a bother or an inconvenience at all (although I'm sure our arrival must have been,) and offered us chocolate. It was a remarkable experience, and the next time we have any electronics to get rid of, you can bet we're going here...at the right time next time, too. read more

Cheerfully lugged the two old CRT TV's out of my car and pointed me to the office, where I quickly filled out the minimal paperwork. And I was on my way. Easy peasy. This is NOT a recycling center. this is a free e-waste dump site. So if you have e-waste to dump, you can come to this place. The friendly staff asks you to fill out a form for that. make sure that you don't leave any real information there regardless whatever the form says. I went there to recycle bottles/cans but I was told that I can leave these for FREE. so I left. the other places pay me for bringing those stuff. Go elsewhere! One star is for the friendly staff who tried to explain that this is NOT a place for recycling. For the company, zero star. Thank Greenmouse for wasting my time/effort/gas by not specifying that this is NOT a recycling center. I might think again if no other place in the bay area accepts my future e-waste. read more

Just dropped of a bunch of cords, connectors, wiring, old electronic devices, etc. All that stuff that accumulates in the bottom of the drawer! Martinez (I think that was his name) was extremely helpful and informative, when I asked about recycling other items. He suggested where I should check of recycling a couple of items that GreenMouse does not accept. Very pleased. read more

I tried to schedule a home pickup. They emailed and asked if they could pick up the gear the next day. I said yes, and emailed three times to get confirmation--no reply. I put the gear out anyway--still no reply or confirmation--and they didn't show. This was a bit of an inconvenience for me, and I'm very disappointed given the otherwise positive reviews here. At the very least they could have replied to my emails. Sounds like dropoff is OK, but they're 0 for 1 for pickups in my book. read more

After much procrastination, I recycled an IMac and Performa computer. James and Henry were very helpful. They took the hard drives out of my computers and shredded them. Fast and easy. Only $10 to remove and shred a hard drive. I would not hesitate to use them again! While you wait, they have a cool collection of vintage electronics. read more

They took my old computer battery, a box full of random cables, and even a 32" TV. I brought 2 old Mac laptops to an Apple retail store and was told they take only the batteries. What???? With all the cash at their disposal, they can't set up a full e-cycle system for their own products? So I tried Greenmouse, and I was delightfully surprised at the comprehensive and inclusive system there, with neatly clustered items and friendly staff in a large, clean warehouse space. The location with a drive-up to the receiving area is convenient. And it is FREE!
