My fiancé and I shared a Spicy Hungarian open sandwich and a Norwegian open sandwich, and my fiancé got a regular coffee and I got an iced latte. I really, really enjoyed the sandwiches, they were on a croissant (despite the menu saying they'd be on naan bread) and the flavors were superb. The spicy Hungarian one especially had spicy salami (not too spicy don't worry), pickles and some raw onion - all tamed by the sour cream on top of the croissant. I was born and raised in Hungary and gosh, this hit the spot!! The iced latte was also cool, rather than regular milk plus espresso, they gave milk foam so it felt really luxurious. I tried their chocolate baklava too. Super cute vibe inside and they have some seating outside too. Service was quick, and the owner was so kind! I went here for brunch. Dor a Sunday brunch hr it was quite empty, which was pleasant in order to have a conversation. The space is super quaint. It looks like their primary business is take-out coffee & pastries rather than sit down, but our waitress was nice and the seating area was cute. It's unfortunate that I have to write this review, as the Green Pear Cafe had been a favorite of mine since I first moved to Hoboken. However, the quality has steeply declined since the change in ownership. What was once a special Italian brunch spot now tries to recapture the same vibe with similar food, but so many key elements are missing that it's hard to pinpoint just one. Cute little cafe and restaurant in Hoboken that's off the main streets. They have pretty interesting breakfast dishes and I got the Norwegian open sandwich to try which was hearty. My friends and I sat in the small restaurant area in the back and our orders were taken at the table and food was delivered, but the rest was self service such as grabbing condiments and clearing the table then pay up front. Best psl I've ever had. Seriously I don't know how I'll ever go back to Starbucks. The syrup isn't sweet, the foam is real, and it tastes like coffee. We got an iced and hot latte with pumpkin spice and both were delicious. The waiters were very attentive and friendly and the outdoor seating was quaint. It's also on a cute little street that gives it my brownstone feel. We didn't have time to try the food but we will definitely be back for it. When the weather is uncharacteristically nice for January you seek out cute little brunch spots and this place is the cutest of the cute. We sat outside on their wonderful little patio covered in fake flowers, plastic dinosaurs and teeny tiny tables. Did I mention this place was cute? Cute and kooky. The whole menu looked wonderful but I opted for a grilled chicken sandwich. Came with the chicken all chopped up and cooked absolutely perfectly and seasoned really well. It also had basil, roasted pepper, and sundried tomatoes on it. On the side of the sandwich were plantain chips, which I thought was a lovely little alternative to plain old potato chips. My boyfriend got an omelette, which I of course snuck a taste of, and it was delicious as well. Portions are pretty normal and I thought it was very reasonably priced, about $16 for each of our meals. You do pay for water, no big deal. Oh and I kind of fell in love with the mug that they gave me for my water. I THINK I saw that they sell them in their (once again) cute shop inside. Love this place and so happy we finally tried them. I'm also happy that the day we finally decided to try them it was gorgeous outside and we were able to sit outside. Very cute gem off the beaten path in Hoboken. Everything from the art on the walls to the opinionated cups and the decorated tree... details really matter here and were well thought out. I liked the ambiance and the people watching scene of this quaint cafe. I am writing this review a few weeks after visiting and still remember the taste of the freshly squeezed grapefruit juice which really hit the spot for me that day and I would definitely come back for. One of those cute little cafes that totally live up to your expectations! We drove past this place and few times and finally decided to give it a try one Saturday afternoon for brunch! I went in a group of three and we all tried their vegetarian pancake dosa which we had heard so much about! I must say, we were not disappointed at all- it was delicious! There was a side table with blankets and dolls for guests to presumably use while sitting outside, but the blankets were covered in human and dog hairs. The service was good, but the menu was nothing to write home about. The portions were quite small yet pricey, and they didn't have any bread at the restaurant for toast as a side. This is a cute little place that seems to emphasize health. My friend and I shared the bacon omelette, nutella crepe, and the Malibu juice. We found it a little weird that they didn't give complimentary water. Instead, our group had to order bottled Fiji water. I also felt like the juice was a bit overpriced for what we got (a lot of the volume was ice). Overall, however, the food was pretty tasty - we thoroughly enjoyed our crepe and omelette! All I got was cinnamon coated bananas. Maybe would be better if instead of having bananas inside and outside crepe they used peaches or strawberries on outside. My mochas was nice looking but had no mocha taste and too much foam for my taste. Service was good, place is cute and has good wifi. They have an array of breakfast options along with pasta and sandwiches for lunch. I chose the EGG & CHEESE CROISSANT and my friend got one of the AREPAS. The croissant was pretty good, flakey and not overly cheesy. The guy next to us got an omelette and it looked pretty good. I had a glass of grapefruit juice -- tasted fresh and not concentrate. We ordered a salad (that never came), grilled chicken panini, and vegetarian panini. Key word = panini. Aren't paninis supposed to be warm? Our sandwiches were cold and the bread was not fresh. The mozzarella was pretty good but the sandwiches literally looked like something I can make in two minutes. Maybe the other dishes are better? I will never know.
