I initially hired Gerber to tune-up all my existing pavers, add a new paver driveway, and add some new path lighting. Adding the new driveway was somewhat of a challenge as the adjacent paver sidewalks were initially constructed over 10 years ago. So, Gerber was able to find a great match to my existing pavers and masterfully piece the new driveway together in such a fashion where old and new appear seamless. Amazing!!! During the process, we learned that his team also offered landscaping. So as the hardscaping and lighting was coming to an end, his team met with us for a design consultation. Both Kathy and Katherine brought some great experience/knowledge to assess our current situation and offered wonderful ideas to the overall design. They told us it would be approximately 2 weeks before they could come out. Then it was another 2 weeks before they could do it. Since then (it is now June 4th) they have been giving us the run around, saying they would be here last week to do it, but they never came and never called to update. I have personally left 4 messages, and my husband and father in law have also left several and have received no return phone calls. I've never experienced such terrible customer service. I needed this work done ASAP in order to sell my house, so I have now gone with another company (again, about 6 weeks after I told Norris to go ahead) who will be here tomorrow and pouring the concrete on Monday. I would never recommend J.A. Norris for concret work, based on my experience with their terrible service.

The other contractor on Yelp didn't have the proper insurance when we were going through HOA submission and just kept dragging us along even after they started the work. We went through weeks of searching for companies and most companies didn't have the actual proper insurance and license to work in Virginia. Once blue collar scholars took over, the job got on track and communication was perfect. During the permitting, inspection scheduling, framing, and finishing portions of the job. We now have a custom gazebo and a full Trex deck that our whole family loves during the spring, summer and fall months. When it is warm in the winter, we are also out on it as well. This job was completed in the summer of 2023 and we are now using them for some interior work.
