The Spot used to be so great to have coffee and do work. Now it is way too hot, the AC does not work well, and the music is TOO LOUD!! Makes it difficult to have conversation without yelling and forget about trying to study or read. Also the door SLAMS every time some one enters or leaves. It is startling and again makes it unpleasant. I wish you would address these small suggestions. It was better when they first opened but now they don't seem to care. read more

Yesterday afternoon I went in with a friend wanting breakfast food and ordered a waffle. It wasn't particularly crowded, but 20 minutes later, still no waffle. I went to check on it and was assured it was being made and would be brought to me. About another 10 minutes later, I'm told the machine "isn't really working" and do I want an egg waffle (I believe that's what it was called) instead. I said fine. I was just hungry. About another 5 minutes later, I'm asked do I want them to make it with ice cream because that makes it better. No, I came in wanting breakfast, not dessert. At that point I got a refund and went with my friend to the local diner where I was eating a waffle in 5 minutes. In addition to the horrible service, The Spot was also kind of messy. I live up the block from The Spot and have been looking for a local coffee shop for a long time. I love Norma's, but it's a bit of a far walk from where I live. And the seating there is limited. The Spot, however, has a lot of space, an interesting interior, free wifi, and excellent coffee. The chocolate chip banana muffins were to die for. However, they are still new and need to work on a few things, so I'm giving it four instead of five stars. For one, the music was too loud. People come to a coffee shop to read, to work on their laptops, or to speak with friends. The loud pumping music that played there when I visited one of three times (the kind of annoying pop music you hear everywhere else in Ridgewood) just wasn't the right vibe I was seeking to get some work done on my laptop. Also, the baristas were a little slow and didn't quite know how to prepare the drinks properly. But I think these small issues can be worked out, and this little coffee shop has a lot of potential to be my new favorite spot (pun intended). Overall I think this is a great little coffee shop in Ridgewood, with excellent coffee and deserts. Definitely would recommend it! read more

Found this place by accident after eating at Gyro World next door. WOW!!! Cappuccino was perfection and the almond wedding macaraon was delicious. Husband had a piece of tiramisu that he finished entirely before I I could manage to taste a corner! And he's not a dessert person! It's been three days and he's still going on about the the coffee and tiramisu. I think we'll be back soon! read more

I was so excited when this coffee shop opened up in my neighborhood. The staff is very friendly and always welcoming. The coffee is delicious! I'm not a big iced coffee fan but theirs is so good. The ambiance is great. I love coming here for my daily fix! read more

The place is very cute and the staff is very nice. However in all honest truth paying that price for overheated cappuccinos and frozen pastries baked by them is just not very smart. I really like this new coffee shop on Fresh Pond. The space is gorgeous, and it's pretty big with lots of tables, so you never have to worry about not getting a seat. The sandwiches are absolutely delicious, and the staff is really sweet. My one complaint is their cold-brew coffee - maybe I'm just not well versed in cold brew, but it wasn't the best coffee I'd ever had. I wish they'd offer both kinds! However, their espressos are great. I wish them lots of luck! read more

This is my third time giving them a try. It was pricier than Starbucks and tasted awful!!!! It reminded me of the coffee they sell at Norma's. What kind of beans are they using? We need a good Italian or Spanish coffee shop on Fresh Pond rd. If you like over priced weak expresso this place is for you. read more

A good place to relax do Hw and enjoy the best coffe in ridge wood. They have good variety. The manager continually visits to makes sure customer satisfaction is good. Usually these types of privately owned coffee shops tend to be much better with coffee quality and customer relations. read more

The coffee is way overpriced, the workers seem to always be tip hungry. And bad service overall-- I asked for a bagel toasted with butter on the top and bottom and they did just that but on the outside of the bagel leaving the inside dry. I've gone to so many different bagel spots and it is common sense that when asking for butter top and bottom it means the inside not the outside. Not worth it! Definitely avoid, there are better coffee shops around the area. read more
