This is sweet and sour spare ribs? Looks unappetizing

First time dining from this place. Ordered for pick up and decided to order sweet and sour spared ribs. Unfortunately there was no picture of this item on the menu or yelp. Hopes this helps someone who's wanting to order sweet and sour spared ribs. Looks very unappetizing and lacked flavor as well as how it looks.

If you could imagine mapo tofu as Mathew McConaughey in "Dallas Buyer's Club" with Full blown AIDS, that would give you an idea of what to expect when ordering that dish from this place. It's supposed to have sichuan peppercorns to give the hot/ numbing flavor & profile (THIS DISH GOT NO SPICE & I ONLY FELT PAIN & SELF LOATHING, KNOWING I ACTUALLY PAYED MONEY FOR THIS.) It's also supposed to have minced pork, but this dish came with a generous serving of F*CKING BREAKFAST HAM. HAM! HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAM! Also why do they put peas & carrots in EVERYTHING? #FeelinLikeYoungForrestAndJenny

My family has been ordering food from here as long as I can remember and it's always delicious, probably my favorite Chinese food place around, especially the crab puffs. Can't recommend those enough, they are addictive. Other favorites have been the egg drop soup, the egg rolls, the orange chicken, General Tso chicken, and Sesame beef. The reason I knock this place off a star is because consistently their their service can be slow and it's pretty expensive, but I'd say it's good for what you get.

Chicken Lomei with a marble in it

My coworker relocated to Vancouver because of his new job. He asked me if there was good Chinese food. I told him about this restaurant as they have been there for 25 yrs with a long menu. He was excited and tried the food. He found a marble in his chicken noodles!! Luckily his fork hit it first. He thought we won a prize..lol He called and talked to the lady. They refused and claimed they had no idea how it got there, then hung up. If they have a kid in the kitchen, they may want to be more careful. I feel bad for my coworker. First time experience and got an issue. I guess he is not looking for Chinese restaurants here for a while.

LITERALLY FRIED RICE. I PAID $15 FOR BURNT RICE.

If I could give ZERO stars I would. What in the actual fuck is this place. I feel like this place tried to poison me and my family. Within 20 minutes of eating their food I had diarrhea. We ordered pork fried rice, deluxe chow mien, wontons, and salted shrimp. To say their food was a disappointment is me being gracious with my experience. This place charged $15 for salad shrimp that tasted pre-frozen. They also charged $14-15 for fried rice. LITERAL FRIED RICE. Like what the fuck?? WHO THE HELL DOES THIS?? I feel like this is some sick joke. This place is not worth the food, the time, or your money. Save yourself some calories and a trip to the ER. I hope this place never serves food again.

Does "Peanut" still work there? We enjoyed eating there so much over 20 years ago and now we live an hour south and visit Vancouver. Thank you!…

The fish was fried to perfection--crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and had just the right amount of spice without being overwhelming. The beef fried rice was cooked perfectly and full of flavor. Service was quick and easy, making it a great spot if you want something delicious without a long wait. I'll definitely be back!

We were a walk in at 6:55 pm, so we were expecting things to possibly be busier during the dinner…read morerush. We entered, immediately wrote our name down, and wasn't seated until 730. There wasn't a staff at the door, I think I would have appreciated someone coming to the front to check in with us about wait time estimations, but they only came to the front to tell us to put our name down after 20 minutes of us kinda waiting by the front. They took our order quickly, certain items they mentioned they were too busy to make, which was fine and understandable. So they'd recommend another dish in its place. The reason I mainly knocked a star is once we ordered, the appetizer came out quickly but no one ever really checked in on how we were doing, we didn't get a water refill or at least were unable to flag anyone down to do the quick bringing out of plates to other tables waiting and zooming back to the kitchen. We eventually got one of our entrees the honey walnut shrimp 15 min later, but no bowls of rice. We had to wait until our second entree came out 10 minutes later to get to enjoy our meal with the rice. I would've preferred if the rice was brought out earlier or at the same time, and trying to flag someone down for the rice was difficult. Eventually by 830 pm we got our last dish, the vegetables. Which would have been ideally eaten alongside our proteins. Wait times were very long, which would be overall fine if someone had communicated or checked back in. Food overall was fine. Honey walnut shrimp was more caramelized here, I think other spots tend to be more on the creamier side. Fish fillets were more breading than fish. Vegetables were fine overall, probably not the stunner last entree dish to finish off the night but overall fine. The appetizer beef tendon were good, it definitely has that numbing sensation with the peppercorns you find. Overall, for a Sunday night for dinner it was bustling, a lot of folks were waiting for items and I overheard other tables asking for things to just be cancelled due to the length of time it took. There's lots of tables and booths, it got fairly loud but nothing out of the ordinary of both restaurants.
