Oh the lady at the counter is so nice and friendly! I went in, ordered my food, went to Ocean King and came back. Foods ready! She's so good though explaining that I ordered a pound but it may be a little more because it's hard to cut it exactly. I had no problem with that. This roast duck is exactly what I needed! Crispy skin and juicy meat. I'll be back for sure!

I was hoping new management would elevate the food but it didn't, at least so far. I got the beef chow fun, stewed beef and congee and it was good but not great. I'll give it a couple more tries. Service was ok.

Won Ton soup was meh, while the pork dish pictured was much better.

This is not the same as the Good Taste in Portland Chinatown or on SE 82nd, but the owners are related. The Won Ton soup was average, while the BBQ pork had that off-putting bright pink color. Overall, a classic 3-Star. Staff are very nice.

Came upon this little spot tuck in the dark. Standard Chinese eats with a splash of generousity. The Super Bowl was tasty. Lots of meat for this carnivore! Bbq pork, roast duck, roast pork belly and won tons! Yeah!!!!!! Also had to grab a side of roasted pork belly...because....well if their pork belly ain't crispy and delicious, I'll keep hunting for a better spot. But they nailed it. Juicy, fatty, crispy pork belly. The kind your doctor screams at you about as you casually give them the middle finger in your head!. Come try this place if you are in the mood for some Chinese. Woooooooo!

Not sure why I haven't stopped here before. It's right next to where I buy live crab. Stopped in today for lunch specials. Super friendly and fast service. Run by a couple and they get busy. Between 1130 and noon all the tables filled up so get there when they open or after the lunch rush. My food was perfect. Fresh, hot, flavorful. I want to try other dishes I saw coming from the kitchen and they all looked wonderful. Entree, fried rice, spring roll, soup, hot tea, and water, was $15 out the door including tip.

Decent American Chinese restaurant in Vancouver, WA. Good option if we want something nearby. The chow fun was the best thing we ordered. Roast duck and egg plant were okay.

Crispy pan fried noodles with chicken (to go)

I have often shopped at the market next door but had never stopped in here. I was so very excited when I saw the menu that I had very high expectations and I was not disappointed at all. I had the salt fish friend rice and my partner had the crispy fried noodles with chicken. The salt fish friend rice was delicious. It's not super common to find locally, and the rice was perfect. Every grain was separate, it wasn't gummy or mushy, it wasn't overly salty or fishy, but perfect. It was eggy and delicious, and piping hot. The crispy noodles were packed separately so they wouldn't get soggy on the drive home (we took things to go) and they were amazing. The staff were very friendly, and the decor inside was cozy and clean, with a vibe that was well suited for family style dining. We went around lunch time for a to-go order. Plus they have peking duck, and ginger onion chicken...which we will definitely have to try next time we eat in person. The tripe on the menu looks good too. This place is a hidden gem. Do not pass it up!

A few years ago, my favorite local Chinese food restaurant went out of business. I've been searching for a new place to lay claim to, this might be it......the jury is still out. This order was a "to go" order, so I can't speak to the interior or the staff. I had a simple order, the appetizer platter and the Curry Chicken. The appetizer platter had two spring rolls, four crab puffs, four tempura fried shrimp and a huge portion of BBQ pork. I started with the crab puffs which were not great? I suspect had I eaten them right out of the fryer, they would've knocked my socks off! The flavor was good, but they were sweaty and chewy- not in a good way. They did not travel well! The tempura fried shrimp were A.M.A.Z.I.N.G!! So light and so good! They were so good, I could've eaten ten more easily. The spring rolls were also very delicious. I appreciate that the fried foods weren't dripping grease. The BBQ pork was typical. Not great, not bad. I didn't get the tangy red sauce I'm accustomed to, but instead had sweet and sour sauce and the hot mustard. There was zero fat, something I truly appreciate! The Curry Chicken was not at all what I expected. The menu picture shows an appetizing and appealing of mostly chicken with some red pepper showing. What I received was a pile of food dominated by huge chunks of green pepper, which I DETEST! It's not enough to pick them out as they contaminate everything they come in contact with. Also had large pieces of celery and another yucky (I know, I'm quite sophisticated!) water chestnuts. The chicken looked great and was all lean white breast meat. It had a very mild curry flavor and a family sized portion to boot! I would try it again, having the offending veggies removed. All in all, I was pleased and next time will eat in the restaurant.

It's my go-to roast duck and stir fry place in Vancouver. They are Cantonese and serve decent porridge, wonton soup, stir fried veggies, etc. the beef tripe was just okay, but everything else is decent and affordable too. I will try their fried rice and Peking duck sometime soon!

Food was good but $21 after tax is insane, and it wasn't nearly enough. Are the owners trying to buy lambos or something?

I didn't try the regular menu, but I will definitely come back to try more of their Szechuan menu soon (there were two separate menus when we came in). Teenager said the Lo Mein was "huge" (indeed) and we all agreed it was flavorful. The middle school kid said his sweet sour shrimp (ordered with sauce on the side) was "the best I've ever had", and even liked the sauce enough to dip a few which is a whole lot for a kid who isn't a fan of sauces in general. I ordered the sesame beef and while I really liked the sweetness level and the flavor, some of the pieces were hard to chew (not quite beef jerky but still much chewier than I would like). We ended up getting 2 pieces of raspberry cheesecake which the teen and kid swore was some of the best cheesecake they've ever had (sensing a theme starting here). I would highly recommend Golden City and will absolutely be back again next time we are in the mood for delish Chinese fare!

The pork belly is high quality and they don't skimp on the veggies. Their tangsuyuk is another standout, perfectly crispy even when coated in sauce, which is no easy feat (if you know, you know). The wasabi shrimp has a unique, addictive flavor with just the right amount of crunch. And the kimchi burger? I didn't give it a 5 star because I was a bit disappointed with how little protein they add to their ganjjajang. First time I ordered the pork and then I ordered the seafood on another visit. The taste was amazing and authentic but I was disappointed with the pork because they give you like 6 pieces of pork and there is tiny fried pieces as well but the size of a scab lol. I love the big pieces of veggies in it but it's sad they can't do the same with the protein. Now with the seafood version it was the exact same thing very little protein but mountain of veggies except this time the zucchini was so tiny while they gave me giant blocks of onions again I don't mind that but it's all disproportionate. Nothing to what I have had at different Korean spots in Arizona. Everything else is amazing like their fried rice or bulgogi burgers. Their tteokboki is alright it's a niche type of dish so it won't be for everyone. It was more sweet than I like but that's just a me thing. Service was great and the ambiance was chill, quiet and cozy. We will still be returning just maybe will stop ordering the jajamyeon unfortunately.
