    Spicy chicken
    Haley K.

My friend recommended this place a long time ago & I continued to see it on social media. Finally made it over there. They have lunch specials & best of all pictures of a lot of their items. I decided to go with the spicy chicken lunch plate with hopes that my mouth wouldn't be on fire. It came out looking pretty red, I was a little nervous. It had a tiny bit of spice, perfect little sweet spicy flavor. The portion was pretty big. Really yummy. Everyone I was with enjoyed their meal as well. I think it was my dads favorite meal of the whole trip.

Jajangmyeon or Jjamppong? We got both! I brought my husband to check this spot out because it was so so good. This soup was so rich in seafood flavor and even came with some crab! The noodles soaked in all the flavors so so well. My husband got the jajangmyeon and it was so so good. Definitely a tasty local spot! Check them out! Nice casual spot, with lots of parking in a plaza.

These look great but... Jjampong was kind of flavorless. Not spicy at all. Jajangmeon was fine. Had better at chinese places in Portland. Pork was ok. We were really excited for this place and tried it just when it opened but really did not enjoy our dinner here.

We've enjoyed the food here several times and like supporting small businesses. If you are one that loves to start your Christmas season early, then you'll be pleasantly welcomed with Christmas music and the beginnings of a tree they just put up. Today we ordered 2 items to go since someone needed a nap. We saw on IG the kimchi bulgogi burgers and had to try it in the beef and pork. The photo only shows one but it came with 2 (the other got devoured before photo). It was really good, just beware there are some fresh sliced chilies with the kimchi tucked in there. We like having the pork belly on the top of the sauce instead of all mixed in for the ganjangjang. Another wonderful meal. Thanks Pan + Grill.

My second time here. I love this place. I'm surprised this place isn't packed for how good it is. I know they are a newer restaurant but people YOU NEED TO TRY THIS PLACE!! Casual atmosphere. Music is low ambience. Service is great. I talked to the owner and he's a great guy. The both dishes I ordered was so flavorful and cooked well. The ramen I got last time was the best I've found in Vancouver. The soju is a must to top off your meal.

Self serve everything ~ self ordering, self drinks, self pickup, self bussing. Do you still tip for no service? Standard fast lunch decor, plain as can be with no vibe. Tangsuyuk had a nice light crisp to the batter and tender pork but the sauce was just plain sweet with no sour. Jjajangmyeon noodle texture was decent, but again sauce was plain with no depth to taste. New & clean tables & restroom. Good for no frills fast lunch.

The entire menu is on large cards with pictures. They do it this way so if you can't pronounce the name you can just point to order.

This little hole in the wall is great. We've coming here since they opened. The food is amazing. I ate the spicy kimchi noodles and was sweating the whole time. The Jajangmyeon has a really balanced flavor, and the Japchae is one of my favorite comfort foods. This place is always clean. The staff is always friendly. Recommend 100%!

Came here with some family, we all enjoyed our meals. Service was fairly quick, didn't wait too long during dinner time. Casual restaurant in a strip mall setting. I got Japchae noodles with chicken, the stir fried veggies were delicious. The food seemed authentic. I had left over and that tasted amazing as well. I look forward to trying different menu items in the future.

Very respectful and very welcoming. Atmosphere is very nice and clean. This is my favorite Korean restaurant. Owner takes great pride of his restaurant and food is very delicious. I highly recommend to come here and bring your family

What a cute new Korean place in the area! We don't have enough of these in Vancouver, and this place is a special one! They don't have a large menu, which in my opinion is a good thing. You can only specialize in so many items, right? If you're looking to explore more Korean items that aren't just Bulgogi overload, this is the place for you! I can't comment too much on the service, because it is self serve. You walk up to the counter to order, get your own waters, bus your own table, etc. Food comes out super fresh and relatively quick! I actually really love their Fried Chicken, which is even better than a lot of specialized Fried Chicken joints! If you're trying to watch your weight, this isn't the place to go to frequently, but if you're down for a Korean treat, this is the place to be!

We love Korean food, and have been to a number of Korean restaurants in Portland. We decided to try one in Vancouver, and it was good. We had: Jjangmeon with pork belly (Noodles w/ black bean sauce Galbi Meal (Grilled Short Ribs) Seafood Soup Noodles (Jjampong) Spicy Fried Chicken Meal Tangsuyuk (Sweet abd Sour Pork) Nice open space Friendly Service Food is fresh Ample parking They were quite busy, but we didn't have to wait long for our food. The Seafood Noodle Soup had a very flavorful and robust broth! It was our favorite. But, everything was super yummy! Bon Appetit!!

We tried this place on a recommendation of a friend and it was highly worth it. We tried the black bean noodles with pork and the yulingi chicken. Both options were absolutely incredible. The noodles were so soft and velvety in the best way, without being too soft to have no texture. The yulingi chicken was perfectly crispy and the spicy vinegar sauce that comes with it is great. Smaller place, but it's simple and clean. Sam the owner was in, and was very nice to see - he used to own another spot in town. If you want to try Korean/Chinese combo, I'd highly recommend

    Tangsuyuk Meal

I came here for a late lunch and was surprised with how busy it was. I think they are still doing soft opening when I went. This restaurant serves Korean Chinese fusion dishes. You come in, order then find a seat. They have photos of the items they serve on the counter but not everything pictured, so I would also check their menu. I tried their tangsuyuk meal which is sweet and sour pork with rice and a salad. The pork was juicy and fried nicely, I like that the sauce came on the side. You can dip the pork in it or pour the sauce on top of the pork, really depends on the preference. In general tangsuyuk isn't too salty, so it's a bit lighter in flavor but I like the sweet and sour sauce that came with it. There was a good portion of pork as well. The salad was iceberg lettuce with some shredded cabbage on a poppyseed dressing. I'll be back to try their Jajangmyeon, and Jjamppong next time. Glad to see some Korean Chinese food in Vancouver.

They require 4 types of meat to be ordered per round, so to get your money's worth it is soooo much food to be consuming with less people. The wine pork belly is awful. It was room temperature and tasted more rancid than anything else. No salt or flavor. The tripe was insanely tough and chewy, you could get the same experience from a rotting tire in Portland. The garlic, and lemon pepper chicken were both dry and flavorless. Not a very good variety of vegetables either. The Galbi was actually flavorful and juicy and I would personally recommend that if you decide to go. The server was polite and very respectful but I might as well have been mute and them blind with how easy it was to call them back to be able to order rounds of food following the first one. They were slow to clean up empty plates as well. The grill was not hot enough to cook things in a timely manner so I would also keep that in mind. We went on a Saturday night and had to wait around 25 minutes to be seated. I don't think I would go back but you can decide for yourself. ;))

The Banchan sides are perfect. Especially the radish and fish cake. I was served by Jonathan. A very polite and courteous young man. He made sure my drinks were topped off and also took the time to engage me in conversation. The bibimbap is fresh, sizzling hot and delicious. I sat in a booth , and want to say there are tables available as well. Obviously this place has made my faves list when in the area. Thanks King Kong Korean. One happy customer.

On the surface, Kingkong Korean BBQ is pretty much like every other "grill-it-yourself"…read moreestablishment, which is generally a good thing. It's immediate flaws are the same as its brethren: why does it seem like no one knows how to operate the grill at the table properly? It's always too slow to warm up, not hot enough, and requires manual intervention. Once that issue is taken care of, though, you're pretty much left to your own devices, and your satisfaction is solely based on what you order, and how well you cook it. Well, almost. In this case, for the most part, the cuts of meat were as good as any other Korean BBQ, but there were some that were decidedly not. Winners: bulgogi, miso pork belly, la galbi short ribs, steamed egg, all the side dishes and sauces. Losers: just about everything else, including the service; the employees were well-meaning and nice enough, but they were obviously very green, awkward, and forgetful. Despite being on the "premium" menu, avoid the King Kong Steak and the King Kong Marinated Beef, both of which are thick, tough slabs of meat that are took difficult to grill properly, especially when there are any of the aforementioned grill heating problems, and even then, they're just too thick, and not particularly appetizing. We also had some uninspired "cajun" shrimp, which is just regular shrimp with a dusting of seasoning on top. In fact, if it weren't for the LA Galbi short ribs, I'd say you can safely ignore the "premium" menu altogether, and just stick with the basics. That way, you can have an enjoyable meal, without paying extra for things you aren't likely to enjoy. There are better Korean BBQ places out there, but I wouldn't be opposed to giving King Kong another shot in the future. I just wouldn't pay anything more than standard price.

The new renovation definitely feels more elevated, and honestly Vancouver needs more spots like this where you can enjoy a nicer atmosphere without having to drive into Portland. Service was great, staff was professional, attentive, and overall gave off a good vibe. It actually felt like they enjoy working there, which makes a difference. I did read on their webpage that they aim to bring authentic Japanese and Korean food. Personally, wouldn't consider it fully authentic, especially if you've traveled to Japan or the mainland, you'll notice the difference. The food leans more toward American style Japanese/Korean cuisine. That being said, the food was still good and satisfying. Not authentic, but enjoyable.
