I attempted to voice my concern to why lotion was being applied to my hands that were not properly cleaned after a two hour + powder dip manicure service that took not one, not two, but three technicians? I'm confused to why I was treated so poorly! Residue from dip powder, dusting from filing, top coat stickiness on every single finger! It's been 2 months since my gel mani/Pedi and my nail bed still have not recovered. The Polish lasted about a week because of the poor application. If I hadn't pointed out how poorly the man was applying the nail polish while he was doing it I would take some responsibility for how much of a disaster this is turned out to be. Was not impressed. There seems to be a lack of salons in the area. This one seems to have a bunch of untrained girls sloppily rushing through pedicures so that they can fit in a lot of people in a short amount of time. My friend's pedicure as well as mine, had not cleaned up very well and not adequate. I used to go to Green Tea Nails religiously for pedicures and shellac manicures but hadn't been in over a year. I went today because I needed my eyebrows waxed and the place I usually go to was packed. While I was waiting, I decided I would also get a pedicure. They took me for my pedicure first and I asked for the callus removal since it had been a while since my last pedicure. Usually if I get this treatment here or any other salon my feet are so smooth for weeks, but today, not the case. Then they took me to get my eyebrows waxed, I'm usually super sensitive and this was relatively painless so I was pleased. Until I got home and noticed it looked like one eyebrow hadn't been touched at all. I know she waxed both, but one was not "cleaned up" and I probably could have done a better job myself at home with tweezers. I don't do much in the way of "pampering" so this was a treat until I got home and realized how subpar my experience was. I believe they have changed owners and staff since the last time I was there and I most likely won't go back. It's a shame because it used to be such a great nail place and now it's average at best. read more

Went here for a mani/pedi because of good reviews from my community. While my pedicure felt great and my feet are soft 2 days later, my mani was so bad that I'll never go back. I had to go back not 24 hours after my mani the first time because even though I did nothing to warrant it, I had 4 chipped nails the next day. They were fine with redoing those nails and putting the polish on my pinky toe that somehow vanished overnight. I wouldn't have gone back for that much if it wasn't for the fact that I had a wedding to go to that night. Today is the second day of manicure #2 and I just took all the polish off my fingers. I went for a run this morning and to the grocery store and I had chips galore. This place is cheap but you definitely get what you pay for, especially with the manicure. The people who work there really aren't that pleasant either. The salon itself while pretty clean is a little shoddy too (worn chairs and sloppy decor). read more

This nail salon is clean and has average pricing. I like that they're open later so i can go after work. They also have a loyalty card system (every 10 visits gets you something? I'm not sure what yet). It's hit or miss with the experience for me- not to discredit, but the young man working there could care less about being there and I hated my nails when he did them. I gave them a second chance and a young girl did my nails and they came out perfect. She also gave me a great shoulder massage. I'll have to get her name so I can schedule appointments with just her. ***BRING CASH TO TIP IF YOU'RE PAYING WITH A CARD BECAUSE the woman, who I'm assuming is the owner, charged me tax on my tip when I used my card. This used to be my go to place, but lately I have been very disappointed and alarmed with the service. There is a newer man who is giving pedicures, and he does not use new tools between customers! While waiting, I watched him cut cuticles on one lady, pick up the tools and come over to another customer. When he picked up the same tools again and tried to do that to me, I stopped him. Green Tea is a great, clean, and very affordable nail salon in Wallingford. This isn't like the typical cattle herding places you can find around town where you are in and out in ten minutes with bleeding cuticles and sloppy nail polish. It does take longer than typical places, but I don't mind that - the people are friendly, they actually can have a pleasant conversation with you, and they do a fantastic job!! I would rather spend more time for a job done right. Oh, and of course I really don't mind staying longer for the mini-massage afterwards :) I have had gel nails done by four different people at Green Tea, and they all did a beautiful job. It is slightly inconvenient, but they do only take cash for tips (although they have graciously allowed me to put it on my card when I have asked nicely). And if you only have a $20 but want to leave a tip of a lesser amount, they are able to give you change - but they're not mind readers, you do need to ask for change! Let's talk about price too - they are far more than reasonable compared to the same services at other places I have seen. I stopped by Green Tea today for the first time and loved it. I got a fabulous 14 day shellac manicure and pediure for $60. I believe its just $35 for a regular mani/pedi. The owner met me at the door and was very helpful and friendly, offering tea or bottled water. The salon is very clean and the decor is lovely. I went to Green Tea for the first time today-recently my "usual" salons have been "short staffed" down to 3 so it was a pleasure to see that there were 6 or 7 people working at 5:30 Thursday afternoon so I had no wait. The decor is subdued and spa like, the music is classical and subtle. The salon is clean-there was an autoclave on the counter-the first I've seen in a salon. For $35 I got a good mani/pedi including hot stones followed by a shoulder massage. Lucy was careful and thorough. My feet are ticklish so she kept checking to see if I was OK. As I was leaving I stopped at the reception desk and told the gentleman who did my shoulder massage that i was a very pleased first time customer. He thanked me and gave me a 10th manicure free card. I originally started going to Green Tea for eyebrow waxes because they were super close to my house, but more importantly, it was so relaxing there and the girls were so gentle that it never hurt. As someone with eyebrows that grow fast this was a huge plus for me. From there I branched into their other services. They've done my nails for all my big life events: proms, graduations, awards ceremonies, family weddings. I LOVED this place. I never made appointments (shame on me) but with my crazy class/work schedule I never knew when I was going to have both the free time and the money to treat myself. So I was a frequent walk in. I understand that sometimes I would have to wait and never got impatient about that. I don't know what happened but service took a downward spiral. Slowly I started to notice one of the girls getting more hostile with me (despite the fact that she has never once serviced me). It went way past her being curt. The breaking point was on day while the manager was ringing me out. This angry woman asked the girl that did my eyebrows a question in a foreign language. The girl responded. Next thing I know, this woman turns towards me and starts screaming at me in another language. This with other customers in the store! I was mortified and felt awful. I wish I knew if I did something because I would want to fix it! That experience absolutely ruined the place for me. From now on I'll be going to You Got Nails down the street by Dunkin Donuts. Recently visited here with a friend to get a much needed winter time pedi. We made our appointment ahead of time (highly advised) and were promptly greeted. The equipment and premises appeared very clean and organized. I got a lot more than I have ever gotten services wise during my pedicure. They used a hot stone to massage my legs, the paraffin wax around the heels, and a nice scrub of my legs and feet. I am not a "every week" type of girl at a nail salon, but this place exceeded my expectations. They also give you a neck massage while your nails are drying (nice touch) An observation that I saw but was a little irked by was the huge sign that says "PAY IN CASH, GET 10% OFF!!" and where you dry your nails "WE PREFER TIPS IN CASH..THANK YOU!" I do not recommend going here AT ALL. Even if you are in a pinch (like I was) there are other places. I wasted my money here, i get SNS and the lady doing my nails, thought very nice, had no idea what she was doing. She cut my nails so short that it actually hurt when she was filing them!!! I got a darker color and it left stain marks on my fingers that she didn't clean off. The top coat turned very cloudy and I noticed by the time I got to my car from the salon! I went back in and she "fixed it" got back to my car-same exact thing. I went home and put my own top coat on and it turned out fine. Don't waste your money here absolutely not worth it read more

1 star is a star too much. The owner Lina is very moody bi-polar perhaps. she yells at her staff and customers. If you make an appointment they make you wait. My last visit with an appointment took three hours for a gel fill and a pedicure. My gel nails were popping off days after a fill because of sloppy work. This nail salon's aptitude for waxing and manicuring/pedicuring is abysmal. Although their staff is somewhat friendly, do not get your eyebrows or nails done at this spa. Their nail polish is cheap and chips off within several days. Their acrylics come out lopsided and uneven. The last time I got acrylics put on at the salon they were rough, poorly shaped, and cheap looking. They cost 30+ dollars yet they fell off within a week. Also, the last time I went to Green Tea to get my eyebrows waxed, they failed me on all levels. I specifically told the woman who did them, "not too thin please. Just clean them up." The woman then proceeded to do a fine job on my left brow, but thinned out my right brow so much it was a completely different shape than it's counterpart. Additionally, she burned my skin with the hot wax and even parts of my cheek because I guess she carelessly dripped the wax onto my face. I am utterly displeased, angry, upset, etc. at the quality of this salon's services. I will NEVER go back to Green Tea and I advise others not to put their trust, or the fate of their eyebrows, in this business. read more

Not even a week ago I came here for a gel set. A day later two of my nails fell off. A week later one of my nails had a fine crack in it and broke off. I had to go to get it repaired and they broke again. Waste of my money and I'm very disappointed. If you come here, be sure to carry nail glue with you everywhere. I used to only get my nails done for special occasions but since I got my nails done here for my sister's wedding in June I now go regularly. Green Tea Nails is a great nail salon. I have been to a few others in town here and there over the years, but Green Tea is definitely the best. The owner and staff are wonderful. They are extremely nice and customer focused. The salon is very clean and peaceful. They play nice relaxing music and is a quiet atmosphere. It is a lot more upscale and professional than some of the other nail salons in Wallingford. My only qualm (and maybe I'm just cheap) is that they are pricey. I get a UV french gel fill every 2-3 weeks now and they do charge about $20 more than other places. They actually do charge a bit more for all of their services than other places do. However, at Green Tea they do the hot rock treatment at the end and some of the other bells and whistles that you wouldn't get at another salon. So if you are looking for a clean, customer orientated place I would recommend Green Tea. read more

Find another shop!!! There are too many! The workers at this place need to learn customer service! Maybe my black face turned them off. The first time they quoted me a price, but the price was much higher after the service! I should hAve not gone back! However, the nail tips they put on broke on 3 fingers within 2 weeks. Supposedly they have a no charge repair! When I went back to repair the nails, the male owner, Linna's husband was so rude. Plus they say he's not good anyway. Low and behold, I wanted the tips replaced. He tells me I don't need it! WHat?!!!? Why??? I was even willing long to pay. This man told me I taLK too much, was yelling and was totally rude. I was very disappointed with my manicure. Polish was like putty and it started peeling off that same day. I ended up having to redo them myself that evening when I got home. I thought the cuticle and nail work was good, but a few days later, the skin around my nails started to peel back. I will not go here again.
