I went with my cousin and the rest of her bridal party the day before her wedding. The bride showed a picture of what she wanted, when they were done, they looked absolutely terrible and needed to be redone. He filed them down (burning her skin and making her bleed) and redid them very basic because she didn't have another 2.5 hours to spend there. I usually get my gel dip powder done elsewhere and I absolutely regret getting them done at hyacinth. Our appointment was at 2pm, I left by 330, by 8pm a nail broke. By 10 am the next day(wedding day) 3 nails looked like absolute crap. I would never recommend anyone get dip powder at hyacinth unless you'd like to waste $45 for a single day of half passed nails. Where in get my nails done, with dip powder, I pay $35 and they last close to 5 weeks because they know what they're doing. Some of the workers were very unprofessional and talking shit about us. Apparently they think all Americans only speak and understand English. read more

Definitely my new favorite nail salon and so close to home! I used to go to vogue nails in Wallingford but felt like if I didn't get a spa pedicure I was rushed out very quick to turnover the seat. However, here at hyacinth I got the longest best pedicure I've had in a long time! Nancy was my technician and she did a great job! I will start saying this place was clean and give massages at the end of the manicure. I am however not happy and will not be back because I just got the manicure today and it already looks like it is two weeks old. I got the gel because it lasts a couple of weeks and now I feel like I need to get my nails done tomorrow. I asked her to go closer to my cuticles and she didn't listen. I am so mad I spent this money for nothing. I also hate the color, which is my own fault. Here giving an updated review and I still LOVE this nail spa. It's always calm and relaxing. Today I went in for my regular appointment, a spa pedicure and gel manicure. I had the pleasure of seeing Leo and he was literally amazing. I don't want to go to anyone else but him. He was thorough and paid a lot of attention to detail. My pedicure was amazing. He handled his tools well and not once did I feel the little stab of any tool. He did a great job with the foot and leg massage to the point where I started failing asleep. (Lol) My gel manicure was probably the best I've ever gotten. Leo took his time and it shows! I will always return to Hyacinth because of the environment and great service. read more

I usually will drive 40min to go to my regular place, however I decided I should probably look for a place closer to my new home. I have read nice reviews about this place and figured I would give it a shot. However, I can't say that I am very impressed with it. I came in for a pedicure and was asked to sit in a chair that already had water in it. The water was cold, and they were shocked when I asked them to replace it. They use "hot" rocks on your legs, and I can tell you that they were far from that. The chairs here are uncomfortable, I had to have my knees bent in an uncomfortable position while I got my pedicure until a different nail tech than the one helping me came over to adjust my chair for me. They used paper towel between your toes instead of the foam separators. My nails came out decent but, I think I will keep having to look for a new salon. read more

They are organized but they seem to rush the important parts in my mind. My feet need to be scrubbed badly and they are still a little rough. The gentleman who completed mine was so sweet. I decided to walk-in on Sunday morning which I've seen walk-in's before and they were packed they asked what I wanted done and to come back in a half hour...ok. i came back in a half hour the crowed dissipated. looking at the colors I sat down. i felt like I was being ignored esp when a women came in who obviously is a regular said she called a few mins ago and they took her in instantly. every one is being waited on hand and foot as I am just sitting there. i finally asked should I just come back they where talking in a language I couldn't understand and then continued to ignore me. i got up and walked right out!! i never felt so disrespected in my life. if your not a regular customer there don't bother they Obviously do not want your service!! read more

First of all, the wall of nail polish is color coordinated!!! Making it so much easier to find the color you want. My manicure was followed by a back massage, as well as a hand massage with hot towels and stones. 10/10 would recommend. The staff was friendly, and the establishment was very clean. I've been struggling to find a nail salon since moving to the area. Have tried several and have been very unhappy, so I was continuing to drive 40 mins to my old salon. Tried Hyacinth based on Yelp reviews. I am so happy!!!! I had a spa pedicure and a gel manicure. I went in on a Sunday at opening and there were already 5 people in the salon! But they are very well staffed so I did not wait. Lucy was AMAZING!!! As busy as they were she did not rush my mani or pedi! The massage was fantastic, she paid close attention to details, and my nails look fantastic!!! She was even patient with me while I hemmed and hawed over picking a color, I was in an indecisive mood haha! Their prices are average... 30$ for the gel mani which included a back massage and hot stone massage, and 48$ for the spa pedi which included mask, scrub, callus remover, massage, hot stones, and paraffin wax. I never get my nails done. I decided to treat myself and get a pedicure one Saturday around 11am. When I arrived, I had to wait about 15 min, as it was retry busy for a Saturday late morning. That was fine and they flat out told me it would be a wait. The pedicure was amazing. I don't have anything to refer it to, as this was my first, but I enjoyed it. It was very relaxing and my feet were super soft after. Once the pedicure was over, they had me sit under the dryers so my toes would dry. During this time, the nail tech gave me a shoulder massage. I wasn't expecting it but gladly allowed for it. Am planning on going very soon once I have some extra spending money. read more

They're receiving one star from me because of the behavior I've experienced. I went to this nail salon for 3 years and saw how the workers that weren't Asian were treated. The manager (woman, not her husband) seems like she treats them like poor stepchildren. They seem afraid to even talk to you at times. This same manager also seems as though she has an attitude when she had to service me with eyebrows or nails. I tip the nail techs very well because they do a good job. I even tip the person who does my eyebrows. I've seen a woman of color have an appt booked with a nail tech (latin) and the manager told that person to stop doing the woman's pedicure to do another customer's nails. The woman complained and the manager ignored it. I moved out of town so I stopped going. While I was visiting I needed my eyebrows done. I've seen many women come in and no matter how busy they get their eyebrows done very quickly. I walked in and said just eyebrows. She said okay I'll do them when I'm done. I assumed that meant done putting nailpolish back on the shelves because that's what she was taking her time doing. After she was done with that, shw sat down to paint someone's nails. I went there on a whim since it's closer to my house than my previous salon. And I will never return to my previous salon ever again. This place is beautiful when you first walk in, friendly staff greets you. Has a real salon look. I got a pedicure and a gel fill manicure. I waited for about 30 min, which is fine they were busy. My pedicure was phenomenal. Callous removal, hot stone massage, what I assume is paraffin wax on the heels. The gentleman, Paul, that did it took his time, really made sure my feet were smooth. My old place the girls would watch a clock on the wall, so I think they timed how long to do everything for. After the pedi I sat and got my nails done. First thing I realized is they don't upcharge for a manicure (just pushing back the cuticles) like the other salon did... Tina took her time and my nails look phenomenal. I was still sitting at her table at 7:15 pm, they close at 7, and not once did I feel rushed so they could go home. (Don't worry, they were compensated for staying a little later). It was about $20 more expensive that my previous salon, but worth it. And lastly, the employees didn't look miserable. They laughed with each other and us. My old salon, the girl had once made a comment that she wasn't allowed to eat today after I had mentioned how busy it was. The Hyancith II is superior in experience, quality, and staff. read more

All of the employees at Hyacinth are very sweet and patient. I used to go somewhere else and always ask for someone specific. Here, everyone is seriously wonderful. After randomly discovering this salon, I now drive from several towns over just to go here. It's not inexpensive but for the quality of work it's worth it. It's rare a dremel is used and when it is it's just to finish off the edges. They file by hand and truly do an amazing job. The place is clean and well kept. Wow what a disappointment. I have had many pedicures here in the past but today's service was terrible. The water was so hot it burned and the person who did the pedicure kept bending my foot to apply the polish as he stabbed his nail into my toe. I then went to pay with a Gift Certificate that I had ( with no expiration date) and they wouldn't accept it because it was from the previous owner. Now I'm sitting drying and I haven't seen a person who works here in 15 minutes. They are all in the back.
