In December, 2022, we hired No Bull Trees to repair damage done by another landscaper to our two…read morelarge Palo Verde trees. Erik did a minor trim and laid out a plan to nurse the trees back to health. The plan involved trimming, reducing the crowns by 1/3 and reducing the weight of the trees. An appointment for that process was set for 9-29-23 On 9-29-23 Erik did trim the trees, but I didn't see any reduction in the height of the trees. I paid him in full and tipped his workers, saying nothing about the height because I assumed he would be back to finish the crown job. He didn't come back. He eventually responded that I need to call him as needed. Frankly, I was confused as I had no idea when to call him. The next time I saw No Bull Trees was on 7-26-24 when they responded to clean up a storm damaged Palo Verde in my back yard. Erik gave his crew instructions and left the premises. I wasn't happy with the unsafe way his worker cut a main branch and I called him on it. The worker said he was following orders from Erik and the tree would be fine. I sent Erik pictures showing the severity of the cut on the branch and asked him to return to our home to assess things, but he didn't respond. Two days later, in a domino effect, that branch collapsed onto other large branches and another major portion of the tree went to the ground. Erik apologized for the error, cleaned up the debris and rightly didn't charge me for the labor. Giving Erik the benefit of a doubt I made an appointment for 9-25-24 to do the weight reduction, trimming and a drastic 50% size reduction. Before anything was done I asked Erik to tell me exactly what was going to be done. I was happy with his answer. He promised that this time he would do all of the cutting himself. I agreed to a price increase from the original quote. Then Erik left our yard to pick up his son from school and his worker, standing on the ground, immediately began removing branches with a gas powered pole saw. This was not the agreement. Within a very short time I saw that all of that worker's cuts were peeling the donator branches and debris was being dropped on our neighbor's landscape. He also removed another large branch that I believed would remain. I stopped him and he phoned Erik. So did I. When Erik showed up he said nothing to me, cleaned up the yard, packed up his tools and informed me that is crew didn't want to work for me anymore. A very negative discussion ensued and Erik decided to talk to his employees about continuing. On second thought I realized I no longer had confidence in No Bull Trees to complete the job and sent them away. I wasn't charged for anything. I wouldn't have paid them anyhow. I am angry with myself for the trust I misplaced in this company. Now, I'm trying to decide if the tree is worth keeping. The pictures tell the story.

When we first reached out to Danny and explained that we wanted to redo our entire front and back yard, he came over and spent at least an hour or two over two or three visits and helped us plan out our vision for our yard. We had some ideas in our heads, and Danny and Willy both added their expert opinions on some tweaks here and there until we had a final plan we were all happy with. We were quoted a very fair price and the work started the next week exactly as promised. Throughout the project Danny and Willy's communications with us went above and beyond anything I've come to expect from "service companies" these days. It seems like most companies overpromise and underdeliver. But Danny and Willy delivered exactly as promised and more to be honest. They were constantly checking in and making sure we were happy with the progress, and anytime we highlighted an issue (which only happened once and was very minor) or something we wanted to change, Danny and Willy were eager to make the changes and make us happy. You can tell Danny and Willy take great pride in what they do and that is so refreshing. I was a loyal customer for two years. I sent business his way. I was more understanding than most…read morewould have been with his flakiness. I was quoted one price but always charged significantly more depending on which way the wind blew, so to speak. He would always, without fail, cancel/reschedule on me at least once. Then when he did show up he was always very late. I would call him to fix a standard bubbler leak, I can say standard cause I normally do them myself, and he would show up without the stuff to fix the leak and have to come back. This happened repeatedly and was extremely frustrating. He was a nice guy and spoke English so in lieu of going back on the hunt for another landscaper, I reluctantly put up with it. Until tonight. Today I had a regular maintenance. I had 1 very small leak fixed, in which I supplied the parts because he did not have anything with him again. He tried to get $60 more than my quoted price again. I did not have that much cash so he took $40 more than my set price. Which was more than fair given the leak was in the spaghetti line and took 5 minutes and he used my materials. He decided to text me tonight saying he needs to charge me more for my regular maintenance. More??? I was already routinely paying significantly more than I was quoted. He says he charges $100 an hour and can't survive by charging me $160 for my maintenance (keep in mind I was quoted $120 for my maintenance). He was here for 1 hour today and I paid $160 (he wanted $180). If he supposedly charges $100 hour then I have been getting taken advantage of for years and sounds like he owes me money. Let me also say that my yard is standard track home size. I have one tree which I pay a separate arborist to trim. So, as you can imagine, I was livid that he had the audacity to send me this text. Especially, given all I have put up with from him. This was the straw that broke the camel's back. My neighbor had already fired him. I felt bad but after his poor choice to text me asking for more money tonight I now know it is time to go back on the hunt for a new landscaper. There are constantly people on social media complaining about their landscaper and on the lookout for a reliable one. I just don't understand why it is so hard to find a good and reliable help these days. I should start a landscaping business. To be hugely successful all I would need to do is show up, be there when I say I will and do a decent job.

His scheduling was flexible and he was able to come and do the work within a week. He showed up within the time window he gave me and they checked in at certain points of the work to make sure I was happy with the amount they were trimming. They also took care when trimming over my neighbor's driveway and near my roof. I will be happy to call him again when I have landscaping needs. They did a great job.

It took them a long time to copy my design who I gave to Mark. We had already purchased the travertine and everything else that was needed except for the earthen materials. Diamond Cut started the project 24 Nov 2025 and finished 18 Dec 2025. The contract says 5 to 6 business days to complete the project. This was grossly longer, and I feel they should change the timeline on their contract. People are going to be disappointed when the project isn't completed in that time frame. This is why I removed a star. The second problem was with a water line that needed to be capped off. We had to turn the water off that day which happen to be the day before Thanksgiving! We had no water from 10:30am till 3:00pm. This really was a huge inconvenience. So, I removed a star for this as well. When the water pipe was leaking there was no way to communicate with the workers, only one spoke English. We did call Daniel the GC and he did finally fix it by 3pm. Just realize the 5 to 6 business days isn't going to happen. We are happy with the finished results but the time to complete the project and the water line problem were our 2 negatives.
