We live in a patio home with an enclosed courtyard and covered patio about 1150 sq ft. I drew on grid paper the design and layout that we wanted. It took them a long time to copy my design who I gave to Mark. We had already purchased the travertine and everything else that was needed except for the earthen materials. Diamond Cut started the project 24 Nov 2025 and finished 18 Dec 2025. The contract says 5 to 6 business days to complete the project. This was grossly longer, and I feel they should change the timeline on their contract. People are going to be disappointed when the project isn't completed in that time frame. This is why I removed a star. The second problem was with a water line that needed to be capped off. We had to turn the water off that day which happen to be the day before Thanksgiving! We had no water from 10:30am till 3:00pm. This really was a huge inconvenience. So, I removed a star for this as well. When the water pipe was leaking there was no way to communicate with the workers, only one spoke English. We did call Daniel the GC and he did finally fix it by 3pm. Just realize the 5 to 6 business days isn't going to happen. We are happy with the finished results but the time to complete the project and the water line problem were our 2 negatives. read more

All of my plants died, and no one spoke english. They had to cut into my fake turf and they did it in such a shotty way. I paid them $10,000 and got about $2,000 job. Very unpleased, and now I have to pay another company to take out all my dead plants to put in new ones. This is the first time I have written a yelp. I have never complained before this. read more

Diamond Cut did some great work on short notice in our community! We had serious erosion from the fall rains last year, and we were concerned about some unsafe areas. Diamond Cut got right on the job and gave us a fair estimate. Their website is user-friendly, and I was able to trim down the job a little to get it within out budget. The work done was top-notch and true to the description of the work. Our gated community is twenty years old, and we have a lot more landscape repair and maintenance to do. We had Dan and his team "remodel" our backyard--irrigation, lights, hardscape, plant materials--they did it all. Dan is a great designer, and the design work is part of their package. We couldn't be happier with how it has all turned out. Downgrading my review to three stars. I paid Diamond Cut to install compacted quarter minus. It started progressively disintegrating after about two weeks. Some of it simply turned to mud after the first rain. After a couple of months it has disintegrated to the point that there is little to no compacted surface over quite a bit of the yard. Dan first said that he would have it "re-compacted around the edges." Never happened. Then he said that he would have someone "spray it with glue." Never happened. My request for a 50% refund for what he charged me to install the compacted quarter minus has been ignored. read more

We had Diamond Cut do our new homes backyard and the overall experience from start to finish was the best we have had with a sub contractor in a long time. I met with Dan in July to go over what I wanted in my (very small) backyard. It was to be a complete transformation. Dan was very easy to work with, listened to what I wanted and did exactly that. I did a google search and came upon DiamondCut Landscaping. Their work shown on their website seemed to suggest quality work, but more importantly, they would have a designer who would be able to take my sketch of what I generally knew we wanted but be able to guide me as we tweaked it to the best it could be, given the relatively small backyard footprint. Our house is new construction, and only the front yard would have landscaping from the builder-we chose desert landscaping. So, I called for the Free consult with Dan, the designer (owner too, I believe). He was very attentive, asked a lot of questions as to how long we planned on being here, which would impact materials we select. We wanted a water feature of some sort, some artificial grass, irrigation into the back for plants and a large extension of out patio slab into a much bigger patio with a firepit - gas stub was to be used for underground gas supply - it was a cut above a general backyard landscaping job and I wanted quality work. I showed him my sketch and he helped me tweak the design from some of his suggestions which I, and my wife and daughter liked. I decided to get the 3D design video so that we could really see how it'd look. We all loved the design choices, we approved the contract. They started about a month after we signed - had to wait for HOA approval (they provided 2D design with measurements and materials list for HOA approval). It took 2 weeks, 5 days a week - the workers arrived early each day and worked 8 hrs. minimum each day. We were very happy with the result, and would recommend them to anyone looking for landscaping help, or ideas! read more

After searching relentlessly for a landscaper near my home in Glendale AZ, I stumbled across Diamond Cut just through simple Google searches. I have had the pleasure of working with Dan (who I believe is one of the owners). Dan was extremely patient and kind as we are new homeowners needing a COMPLETE makeover of our backyard (see photo). Dan listened intently to our vision and needs and drew up a plan for us. Three weeks later, the crew came to start the work and they completed the project in three days!!! It was amazing to see the transformation. We had grass put in, an extension of our patio and an entire underground (PVC pipe) irrigation put in. We LOVE it! The crew was very efficient and very kind. Dan came to my house to to quote me on a design for my 1200 sq ft front yard. I was under the impression it would cost $8-10k, but he had in his notes $8-18k which is a huge range. I paid $350 for a design and he quoted me around the $18k which was way over my budget. He made a half ass effort to get it in my budget range then I never heard from him again. read more

If I could give this company a negative 10 review I would!! When I had the initial consultation with Dan Plunk I made myself very clear that I didn't want any grass/weeds growing in my yard. He assured me that they would lay down plastic sheeting, after removing all the grass from my yard, that would cover my whole yard. They used dirt from my yard as fill dirt, which still had remnants of the grass in it and I found out that the plastic sheeting doesn't cover my whole yard. Now I have the grass growing back in all over the place! I contacted Dan Plunk and he said I would receive a call to set up an appointment to have someone inspect the installation of my landscaping. Never got a call!!! I emailed Dan Plunk about this and as of yet, I have NOT heard anything back from him or anyone at this company!!! read more

Dan confirmed our initial appointment and arrived at the scheduled time. He spent a generous amount of time walking my property, talking with me about my preferences, my personal design aesthetic, how long I expected to remain in my home, wants and needs for the spaces and recognizing, due to the location of my mountain property, challenges to overcome within the design. I paid for the plans to be created. Dan communicated and responded to me in a timely manner when I had minor changes during the design process. He delivered a landscape plan and a 3D model which has enabled me to visualize how the spaces can be utilized and enjoyed. Very unpleasant experience with setting up a consult. Called in with a design already complete from a licensed landscape architect. Needed a quote for install. Receptionist made me aware of their $3500 minimum to do a job. She wanted to know if I thought the design would cost that much. I said I didn't know I've had people come out for consults but hadn't received the quotes yet. She said she didn't want to waste time if it wasn't enough money for them. Then once plans were emailed to them. They said they had to do their own because it was not labeled (it was labeled) and there were no measurements. I hadn't sent measurements because it hadn't been asked of me, and I apparently incorrectly assumed they would want to take their own. Felt like they just wanted a reason to charge me a design fee. Will not be having them come out for a consult. read more

Dan was Great! He ask me questions about my vision , how it would be used, why I wanted it now and how long did I plan to remain in this home? With my input I paid for a drawing. Dan could advise me on plants that could take full sun, not too bad for my allergies and requires lower water and maintenance. He showed me pictures of plants and gave input on location. I ask for a few changes in placement and we were on our way! I had been told in June that the job would start between Mid August & Mid September and depending on weather and materials could take two weeks. I was contacted the first week of August, job started on 8/4/21and was completed 8/7/21. I am very pleased! Some small issues arose as is normal, but Dan and/or his crew were able to answer my questions or accommodate my requests. I will try to post pictures of before and after. I scheduled an appointment for a quote first thing in the morning (8-9 AM). I was home and waited until 0930 before calling the same number I had used to schedule an appointment and reached voicemail. I asked for a return call to confirm if the representative was on their way, or to re-schedule if something had come up. It's been two days and I have not had a return call. I am aware they have a $3500 minimum, which I know I would have met easily, likely double that so I'm not sure why this business decided to no call/no show. Diamond Cut did a fantastic job. The design was on point and professionally installed. It was the service after the sale that failed. Once they get the money it's adios. They installed the plants in May after they said they would wait till October because of the heat. Guess what some of the plants died. We were advised that they would come back when it was cooler. They came out in September and agreed that several plants had to be replaced. I received a voicemail at 5 that they would be out on 10/7 to replace the plants. I called back after hours and told them we would not be home. They show up at 1 pm and we had to cancel our plans. To make matters worse they had no template, wrong plants, and didn't seem to have a clue. We were told they would put us back on the schedule. 2 weeks go by and no communication. I sent three emails to Dan with no response over a 6 week period. Called twice to the office and got assurances that things would be taken care of. Finally I sent an email to Dan in late November telling him what I thought of their service after the sale. I got the response I wanted, excuses. They have a excellent landscaping service but need to work on their customer service after the sale. read more
