My Husband and I have received the Best Service we have EVER had here, in this Little Cozy restaurant located in Moorsburg, Tennessee. Off of 11W, you'll find the Green Tomato Grill. Where the atmosphere feels like Home and the service makes you feel like Family. Danielle was our server. She was Patient, and Exceptional at her job. She was welcoming, accommodating and personalable. We loved getting to Know Danielle! (Prayers for Caden!) She made sure my Husband and I were filled up on coffee and drinks while we were enjoying our Homecooked meal. I cannot Say ENOUGH good things about this Beyond Hospitable Waitress. Actually, the whole entire team that we met, were just absolutely BEYOND REMARKABLE. From the ARMY dude "Johnson" to Mrs. Freda who sat us and also gave us Great Conversation... I would be BEYOND proud of this Homey Restaurant, if I were it's Owner. Freda gave us the Amazing background on how this place came to be about 14 years ago. And you can just hear how proud she is of this Beautiful Hidden Gem and how far it has come. Thank you for Freda, for the Great Welcoming atmosphere. You're so warm and your Service is Wonderful. They gave our Son like 6 crayons to color with, and d they have high chairs. Everything on the menu sounded SO delicious. My Husbamd and I were given gift certificates for Our Anniversary, so we had decided to "treat ourselves" with the Fried Green Maters and the Spinach Articoke Dip! HOLY COW. Their Spinach Artichoke recipe is better than mine... And the Fried Green Maters were just ABSOLUTELY MINDBLOWING. (This was our first time ever trying them- EVER) The Creamy Mustard they give you with it is smooth and tangy. Whereas the Ranch based sauce was our Favorite and Packed with Flavor that just intensified the flavor of the Maters!!! Astounding. We have never ate such Great Food. (The Burps were just as good!! Haha! ) The Quality and Price of the food are beyond Enjoyable. And VERY LOW PRICED!! The Philly Cheese steak was wonderful and My Husbands Reuban was SO big he couldn't even wrap his mouth around it. Safe to say, we left SO full. And with 4 boxes of Leftovers. Food was mediocre, waitress was ok (but I still gave a 18% tip because I felt bad for her having to be a waitress for a career). The best part was when we went to pay, and just because I asked if they do anything for veterans (as I showed my VA card), I get a dirty look from the cashier. All because I asked a question. That type of reaction for asking if they do anything for veterans, every veteran should avoid this place. I'm not demanding anything. The service at this somewhat isolated restaurant was very good. The server was personable, and made sure that we had a good time. The food was very well prepared, good quality ingredients, and very tasty. There were large servings! The fried green tomatoes we had were nicely thick cut, breaded with a very tasty coating, and cooked to perfection. Crispy on the outside, and still had a little bite on the inside. I have to say, they were the best fried green tomatoes we have had in some time. The prices are quite reasonable, considering the enormous jump in costs that most restaurants have had to implement over the past year. The Ambiance was not bad. The decorations were mainly of photographs of the area and town from decades ago. The tables, which were topped with ads for various and Sundry companies, were custom-made, featuring companies in the area. The only negative point I have about it was that it had a very large " appeal to heaven" flag on the back wall. This, for those who do not know about it, is the flag of the Christian Nationalists, who, as a group, have a total contempt for democracy, and want to turn America into a theocracy. read more

Delicious!! The shrimp were grilled with garlic and pepper seasoning and were SO GOOD!! We expected about 6 ribs but it was a full rack. The sauce was delicious- not too sweet. Great family place or a neat spot to stop by for you or a loved one. + Grilled Catfish with Lemon Pepper - one of our favorites Two catfish pieces, with two sides you can pick. The sweet potato and coleslaw are nice, or the steamed broccoli. + Country Fried Steak/Chicken - honestly, both options are great. We had such a great lunch here! Parking lot was filled when we arrived at 1:30pm, so that's always a good sign! There were 4 of us and we all had something different. We started with the fried green tomatoes; those were excellent! We had fish & chips, taco salad, roast beef sandwich, and the prime rib sandwich with some homemade soup. The green tomato grill, where do I start? We frequent this restaurant at least once a month and drive all the way from Johnson City about an hour away. We've done this for years. The food is awesome and the service is usually outstanding. The waiter we had today was outstanding as usual, but the hostess was less than adequate. She goes to seat us in the middle of the and we ask her if we could have a booth. Well, we got the stink eye and the most hateful look like we were putting her out. She definitely needs to be retrained. We will wait and see how we ate treated next time, but we may skip a month or two. Before this. Will would have given it 5 stars hands down. I'm not sure why I am even writing this. 4 and a half stars with 46 reviews. The stars don't lie, this place is awesome. My only advice would be order food in moderation. Every order is king sized. The BLT comes with two huge fried green tomato slices. The Mac and cheese burger comes with two huge fried Mac and cheese balls on it. The burger is big enough on its own and when you throw an appetizer in the middle, it will not fit in your mouth. We ordered two much and took three to go boxes out when we were finished. read more

Busy place for the area. We had to wait about 20 ish minutes to get seated. Looks like a lot of their locals come in here for their meals. They give you biscuits to share while waiting for your meal. The biscuits kind of reminds me of cheddar biscuits from red lobster. I had the country fried steak with collard greens and the fried corn on the cob. Bad news, the fried corn on the cob was my least favorite, wasn't what I expected. The country fried steak was delicious with the gravy. Since moving to the area 2 months ago, we've been to the Green Tomato several times! There's a reason for that!! The food is Bomb.com!! For starters, it doesn't matter what you order, the portions are huge!!! We always start off with fried green tomatoes! They are amazing!! Breaded and seasoned perfectly, with a Dijon mustard type dipping sauce! We've also had the deep friend Mac and cheese balls, they are huge and delicious! Oh and the cheese logs!! Called logs for a reason, they are very close to that size! The main course meals are just as amazing! From the weekend specials to the fish and chips! We've not been disappointed with anything. The chili is delicious, the french fries are done of the best I've had! I wish we weren't moving 2 hrs away but I have a feeling we'll still make the drive!
