I had a bracelet in need of repair. I took it initially to Greenbrier MALL. The lady there saw it and said there was nothing her repair person could do...and did I want to Sell it to her. I was skeptical but someone told me to try the repair person at Greenbrier Pawn. The repair person there is excellent. I went and I was not disappointed....not only did they repair my bracelet back to new . I was able to get it fixed in 10 minutes. ... This is my wife's favorite place. Every time we go there the ladies are always excited to see us and greet us by our name. The selection of jewelry is extensive and it is very clean and well organized. There is something for everyone here. They offer half scrap value on silver and gold coins and bars worth face value. Then instead of paying face value on jewelry like they say in their ad they also pay half scrap value. Genuinely disrespectful in that aspect. People and facilities were nice. I noticed their scale for weight was also wrong. 12g of 10k gold on my never used before scale read 11.7g on theirs. This place is an absolute joke, and I'd give less than one star if even possible. Brought in 3 diamond rings as well as a pair of earrings. Was told they don't really sell silver so they couldn't purchase my earrings. Okay, that's fine. For the 3 diamond rings, $85 was all they could give me. I asked her if she was joking, which unfortunately she was not. I realize after living in Hampton roads a few years that people are not the friendliest and this place is no different. My fiancé and I attempted to sell them a very high end bike that he paid 2300. for and the girl who assisted us had a huge attitude (even for this area) and insulted and lied to us stating she found the bike on Ebay for 400. and only offered us 120.00. The bike was in excellent condition with only 1 very minor scratch and had only been ridden a few times. We did not like the offer for obvious reasons but being lied to about finding it on ebay for 400. and the attitude is the reason we will not be returning here. She was a young girl who has a lot to learn abut how to treat people or she will remain working at a pawn shop for the rest of her life. read more

I came in here once to pawn my ring. Since it was an engagement ring, they refused not wanting to mix in "with all that mess " he said. I accepted his response and then left. Forced to come back another day that week, and sell my Fender. I was crushed, but unfortunately was left with no other alternative. I reluctantly handed the man behind the counter the guitar. He played it on the table, and examined it. Making sure it was legit and everything was working. He offered me $500 and said he could not offer more. I took it with this bad taste in my mouth, and left. The price was fair, the staff was nice and I had no issues. I regret pawning anything you love. The in-house jeweler is the best in Hampton Roads. Does quick, fast and reliable work. I've never experienced any issues with this place and will continue to go to this place for all my Jewlery purchases. Greenbrier Pawn goes above and beyond when it comes to customer service!!!!!! Every member of their staff from the owner to Mr. Green, the security guard at the door, makes it a safe and comfortable place to shop and or pawn. A few months ago I got several items out of pawn; however it wasn't until a week ago that I noticed 1 item missing that was part of a set. It just so happened that it had slipped behind something in the safe and was overlooked. They were able to easily and without question retrieve the item for me. I would not recommend this place if you are looking to sale a computer. They are way to picky. I had a laptop that has a touch screen so it can be used like a I pad. They did not even turn it in they said no because it had a few scratches on the out side. read more

My first time in a pawn shop and wasn't sure exactly what to expect. Customer service was great and I didn't feel awkward asking to sell what I had brought along. Had some old pieces of jewelry I never wear and was pleased to get a little cash. I think you need to be realistic about the value of your items or you may be disappointed. The commercials say they sell items for half off retail so you can't expect to get that amount for yourself. I told myself to hope for a quarter of its value. I think if you're looking for more $$$ you have to try for yourself online if you're up for all those headaches. I would definitely return. read more

Visited Greenbrier Pawn today as I had a gold men's ring I had decided to sell. Walked into the store presented the ring to the young lady behind the counter and stated I was considering selling it. (Just as a side note: I had an appraisal when I had the ring made from a very reliable jewelry store in Norfolk....stating the assessed value was $900 back in 2005 when the price of gold was $426/oz.) The young lady examined the 14kt gold ring with 7 round brilliant cut diamonds averaging 0.045 each, weighed it and then said she would pay $50 for the ring. When I questioned her about the appraisal, she stated "that is for insurance purposes." I asked what she would sell it for in her store, she stated $299. I guess insurance companies are really getting ripped off if this be the case. I laughed all the way to car as in the TV ads the owner states they always pay top dollar. If you are looking for top dollar for your jewelry- look in a different direction than Greenbrier pawn. I guess Hardcore Pawn is in more cities than Detroit! read more
