A few years back, I had Washington Energy Services install a heat pump in my house and it was a wholly positive experience, so when I decided to have a mini split installed in my ADU, I had them give me a bid. The bid was shockingly high, and I had concerns about what the rep was suggesting: he suggested locating the condenser in the alley and the register, inside, near the floor. He was also keen to sell me a three-year service agreement for the heat pump. I contacted Greener Cleaner and the owner, Robert, came out and gave me a considerably lower estimate for the installation of the mini split, and offered to service the heat pump free of charge if I decided to go with his company. Robert told me that he'd once installed a condenser in an alley and it had been vandalized, costing the customer many thousands of dollars. (The photo he showed me of the cannibalized condenser was worth a thousand words.) He advised locating the condenser inside my fenced yard. He also suggested that the register be placed higher up on the wall as this would most effectively heat/cool the ADU. Greener Cleaner came a week later and completed the job in one day, both the installation of the mini split and the service of the heat pump. The three gentlemen who did the work were exceedingly competent, polite, and left everything clean. Robert called me directly midday and at the end of the day to see if I had any questions and if I was satisfied with the work. I appreciated the communication! I contacted this business through this app, along with other businesses. The original quote I got was $289. After I rejected that amount, it was all of a sudden only $149 on special from the owner, Robert. I thought that was strange, but I told him that that needed to be the amount when they got here too, and he assured me it would be. I made the appointment for the day after Super Bowl and they were to arrive between 9:00 and 10:00 AM, texting me before they arrived. I finally got a text around 9:20 AM telling me that the technician was sick and we could schedule for any other day that week. Sounded suspiciously like a hangover to me, but whatever. When they finally got here and removed the filters, I was advised it was now going to be $50 more. I had explained that I had a small house fire inside, but we had cleaned all of the filters and now they are stained. I even asked Jeffrey if I didn't want to pay the extra money, was he gonna just put everything back together and go away? I could see by his expression that was not going to happen so there was nothing I could do. I'm an elderly woman and I already told them since it was only $149, I wouldn't even ask for a senior discount but now they raised the price so I was very disappointed. As they were working, and I came back out into my garage, I caught Jeffrey talking on the phone about my water heater and putting a sticker on it. I told him stickers were OK, but I didn't know it was that big... not only did he put a giant sticker on something he wasn't working on, but he threw the backing on the floor of my garage! When they left, I looked at the unit, and all of the lights were flashing red. At first he had said that the filters would have to dry and then plug in the face plate later, but he plugged it in immediately and it didn't look happy. I texted the workmen and got no response. Finally, the owner responded and told me to hit the reset button. There was still one light flashing bright red after I reset. I had to have my husband work on it when he got home to get the red light to go away. It was very stressful for me overall, but I guess the job did get done... time will tell. It doesn't look like they cleaned anything on my outside unit either. I hope they do better with other people. It could have been just a bad set of circumstances but being "sick" on a Monday after the Super Bowl seems weird knowing that it could be done any other day of the week so the person couldn't have been too sick. read more

we put in mini-splits with 3 zones. becqyse of the locations, there was a considerable amount of work for 2 of the rooms. We got multiple companies come out and each had a different take on how to implement the project with varied pricing. We really liked Robert@Greener cleaner. During the repair I received an estimate for a heat pump installation and a follow-up consultation with the owner to finalize pricing and timing of the job. The primary goal was to cool my house during the summer months, but as the name implies, heat pumps also keep your house cozy during winter months. A new Hisense horizontal discharge heat pump was installed and integrated with my existing traditional gas furnace, and I couldn't be happier with the entire experience! Note that my existing furnace now functions as emergency backup heat; this is something I didn't know was possible until it was explained to me during the initial consultation. I reached out to a number of companies in immediate search of a new heating system. Our previous electric furnace kicked the bucket after 46 years. You might say it had a great run, but considering we only had it for a year and a half, you can imagine how that felt. So, I scheduled at least 8 people to come out for quotes. Some people were nice and talkative, others just made the room feel awkward. Enter Robert (the owner). He was relaxed, talkative enough but not overbearing. He sounded like he knew what he was doing, an I can assure you he did. When your looking for a new system, your really just basing the decision on your budget and what you're looking to get from the heater. Unless you're well off, you're probably looking for something basic. After we spoke with everyone, we actually originally went with a different company. There was nothing wrong with Robert's quote, but it almost felt to good to be true. I've been burned before when going with the lowest rate, but obviously not looking to go with the highest as you are likely just being oversold. Anywho, the other company didn't come at us with their best price initially. The fact that I could talk them down so much means they were initially just trying to take my money. Then, they couldn't get me the equipment by the date they promised. Then they started spouting lies about the equipment not being sold anymore, so they tried to give me something of much lower quality under the guise of being made by a well know brand. It was a lie. I told them i was through with them. I contacted Robert and he was able to get me scheduled quickly. Zach came out and did the initial removal and install work, and Robert came by to get the thermostat installed and configured. The guys stayed here until everything was functioning properly and everything has been great since!
