Greenerprinter is very good to work with, their process is clear and straight forward, technical info is good, their staff is very patient and helpful. Print quality is very good. BUT if you're spending much, buck-up and get a hard proof, not the free soft-proof PDF. I'm really disappointed that the reds in my brochure are so washed-out looking that I'm almost hesitant to even use the things. The whole point was for marketing, and to convince potential clients to hire me. I worry they'll have the opposite effect. I suppose I've got only myself to blame. And yeah, I'm using a calibrated monitor, icc profiles, etc. read more

I cannot even begin to describe the hell I went through with Greener Printer. I tried to do the right thing and have a bulk order of cards printed eco-consciously...On a deadline to deliver my cards to a local bookstore that was buying from me for the first time, I paid extra (and quite high) fees to have GreenerPrinter deliver the cards as soon as possible...And the cards came on time - but on the wrong kind of paper. I spoke with customer service, who basically told me that the printing staff had gone home (early afternoon!!) and that because it was Friday, I'd have to wait until Monday to get the correct paper, etc. I could go on here, but suffice to say that after hours, and my telling customer service that I was as journalist who would report on their mistakes and lack of customer care, they finally came through. They did a next day delivery, and got the right paper - but the prints looked terrible. Truly a rotten experience. Buyer beware. This place charges a hell of a lot of money, and I have no idea why: neither customer service or product were decent. Save your money. Shop around. Again - - buyer beware. Just because a company has "green" in it's title doesn't mean they're going to be kind or considerate when it comes to their fellow human. read more

Not a neighborhood type of place where they remember your name and ask after your family, but they print well and they are not very expensive. They graciously accommodate rush orders. While their upload tool is easy to use I do not recommend using the 'design center' track of their online ordering system. Do choose the soft proof option--they won't check if the file is okay before going ahead with your order. read more

Terrible proof quality, areas that had a solid color fill had small pigmentation dots. Text and images came out sub par. Did I mention that I got charged $52 for a proof?!? Hold on, let me tell you about this proof. Yes it was overnighted, which is nice of them. BUT the proof wasn't even an actual size double-sided postcard, it was just two separate uncropped sheets, of flimsy weight, def not cardstock. How is that supposed to give me an idea of what the final product will look like? I usually don't do plugs, but 4by6 dot com was slightly cheaper and the full color postcards look perfect. Eco-friendly doesn't have to mean wack results. Expect more. read more

We ordered business cards and hang tags. The business cards arrived beautifully. The hang tags, however, were printed upside down, the string was cut 2x too long and the paper stock used was lighter than what we selected - this all despite the fact the proof they sent us was accurate. When we requested the job be redone in time for our event, they were incredibly rude and refused to redo the job. They blamed our graphic designer but her artwork was accurate too. We are having to take them to court which is a real bummer. I would be very cautious about working with these folks. We won't be working with them again...obviously. read more

So when I had to print up new postcards and brochures for my green business, I searched until I found this eco-friendly printer. Custom orders can be submitted online, so you can spare the driving and save on gas. Prices are comparable to most professional printing places and their service and quality is great. I had to ding a star on this review though because the colors in my order were a little mucky compared to conventional printers I've used before. I recently used Greenerprinter to order business cards for the Architecture firm I work for. We printed two types of business cards, 1) 6"x6" card with full scale photographs of the architecture work on them 2) normal small business cards with each employee's title and contact information on them. Both sets came out beautifully. We will be displaying the larger cards at a local shop and I am sure they will entice customers to hire our firm, the quality of the paper and photos really shine through. I feel good about choosing an environmentally conscious paper company and their work seems to be superb. I needed a quick and simple business card. I used one of their templates, I called with some questions and talked to two different people--both who were very helpful--especially Ryan. Though I was expecting them done a week after they were ordered, I received an e-mail alerting me they were done only two days later and I was able to pick them up that day. I wanted to order business cards that were earth-friendly. That meant recycled paper, soy based inks, and as local as possible to cut down on transportation costs. I checked out several print shops that said they "could do recycled paper and soy inks" but the majority of their work was conventional printing (and their prices to do a "special job" proved it). Then I found Greener Printer and their online design-it-yourself program. I had a couple of spots of trouble navigating their page, but when I called they were very helpful, and after the whole job was complete I sent them an email with suggestions and they responded promptly thanking me and letting me know the "do it yourself" stuff was new and still going through some growing pains. And their prices, while still higher than some online conventional printers, were WAY lower than the prices I'd been quoted by other shops. My cards arrived two days before "anticipated delivery" and are fabulous! They are good quality, the colours are vibrant, and the printing is clear. I get loads of compliments on them, and people DO notice the recycled logo on the rear of the card! I found out later this is the place that does the printing for the rescue I volunteer with too - so I'm doubly happy to be their customer. read more

In a world full of substandard everything, Greenerprinter shines through like a, well, star. I needed to have my custom sized 3x3 business cards printed and had checked out a few other local places - one was really expensive and didn't offer many recycled paper options, the other was affordable but I was worried about quality. Then, thanks to Yelp, I found Greenerprinter. Not only do they offer many recycled paper options and soy and vegetable based inks, but they're a certified green business (with a cush waiting area* in a beautiful building) that operates carbon neutral. Let's not get all caught up in how eco-fab they are and forget about everything else, though. Every interaction I've had with them -whether navigating through their site or talking on the phone - has been informative, helpful and satisfying. When I had a ton of questions about paper weights and uploading files, they answered them clearly and nicely. I submitted my order yesterday around noon. Not being in a huge rush, I selected the standard 7 day turnaround. Within a few hours, they had emailed me the proof. Once I approved it (around 3pm), my job went to print. Even though things seemed to be moving fast, I figured it'd be at least another few days to finish up. Imagine my surprise when, at 11:33 this morning, they emailed to tell me my cards were ready to be picked up. Less than 24 hours! I understand that this quick of turnaround may not happen every time but the fact that it did made a superb first impression. My experience with Green Printer was much like Ailsa B.'s . I just wanted eco friendly (after all, that's what my business promotes) business cards to take with me to a conference/expo that was taking place in two weeks. I did a search for earth friendly/eco printers in the Bay Area and found Green Printer. The website was a bit of a pain to navigate at first, but once I found the section I was looking for to design your own cards, it was pretty simple. The price was right - I paid $60 for 500 cards which will probably take me years to get through unless I relocate. I have gotten quotes from other printers and it was much higher. Designing the card online and placing the order was very simple. I opted to pick up my cards instead of having them delivered. I received the email that my cards were ready about two days before the estimated competition date. The customer service/receptionist at GP was very courteous and helpful. She found my cards almost as soon as I gave her my information. The quality of the cards is decent. The standard paper is pretty thick and somewhat matte. The colors of my logo is just about as close as it can get. If I wanted something more deign oriented and had more time, I may have looked around some more. For expos and general promotion of my web based business, I didn't need anything too fancy. read more

Let the owner know via e mail--got a dead serious spot on response in 15 minutes-- My concern as a customer was taken seriously almost immediately and followed up effectively literally within minutes. When I ordered double sided cards and folded cards for my wedding, the process was very smooth. Turnaround time was much faster than what was listed on their website. It's really nice that they offer a pick up option. And of course, huge bonus that GreenerPrinter is an eco-friendly AND economical print shop. It was a little unfortunate that there were inconsistencies in the prints - certain line elements were not as crisp and clear on a portion of the cards. But hey, I know that can happen with small runs of digital prints. Wouldn't be a problem with offset prints in larger quantities. GreenerPrinter used to list wedding albums on their website. Whatever happened to that? They were among the most economical albums I've seen on the web so far, but it appears that they no longer offer those. Apart from using GreenerPrinter for personal projects, I've also tried recommending GreenerPrinter to clients. The website is pretty easy for placing simple orders, but if you're ordering say, a multi-page brochure with special instructions and more than one type of paper, then getting in touch with customer service directly is far easier. read more
