I just recently started my own business, so this was my first time ever designing and ordering business cards. It wasn't really what I expected because I thought there would be an easy online design process -- I didn't think I would need photoshop to do this! Thankfully, my boyfriend had photoshop from one of his college courses, but what do the people without photoshop (and those who can't afford to buy it) do about designing a card? Greenerprinter needs to have better knowledge of their papers and the effects inks have to paper. I had to pay more than once to get proper color and clarity of print on 100% cotton business cards. 2 orders, 2 serious flaws with the printing. Their antiquated rip software print preview is lacking, the production manager color profiling and knowledge is apprentice stage. It is truly a shame that they could not step up and take accountability and honesty about their knowledge of that paper. It's not about the money I am out of; but rather disappointing a new client that after the initial run was going to order 17 sets for their staff cards. Tragic. read more

First time ordering, but was really impressed with the high quality printing - color, clarity - of the postcards I purchased for my business. A little bit scary to order 1000 business postcards sight unseen, but they turned out so professional looking and beautiful. Also had a small hiccup with shipping (can't remember what) and called their customer service for help. I was quickly discounted for whatever the trouble was and my shipment arrived early. The confusing and underwhelming customer service along with a frustrating timeline unfortunately outweighs the nice print job.

My company had been a long term client of Greenerprinter. We loved that they provided a sustainable printing solution, which coincides with our company's core values. While we might not have been their biggest client, we were frequent clients. Our problems arose when we noticed a distinct change in the quality of the business cards we were ordering. First, there was an obvious decline in digital quality. Text printed on top of solid colored backgrounds appeared pixelated and askew. Secondly, GreenerPrinter traded their standard card stock for an inferior product - one which made the cards appear to be cheap and flimsy. When I first called GreenerPrinter with my complaint, I was told a manager would call me back. After a week with no call, I decided to follow up. When I spoke with Jeff, he agreed that they weren't happy with the paper quality and would be discontinuing its use. Rather than asking them to reprint all 15 of the business card orders, I compromised and asked that they reprint 2 orders - those for our CEO, and those for one of our lead sales people - using the old card stock. He agreed to this and I sent our design files directly to him. After another two weeks of not hearing back from him, I followed up again via email. No response. Enough is enough. This blatant disregard for customer service is why we won't be using greenerprinter anymore. I suggest that you save yourself the headache and find a different printer. read more

If I could give a negative star I would. This is literally a complete disaster. You have completely screwed up my ability to get invites out on time, and the response from you is "some things are just out of your control." ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? Is that how to run a business? Here's what happened: invites look fine, but the 'to' address on EVERy envolope was so small that the post office couldn't even scan them... OH, and any zip that started with a zero? Yeah, no one needs those zeros anyway right?! Ok great, so our designer calls you to fix it on Wednesday, and you say you'll finish printing the new ones by Thursday and have them to us by Friday. Well, it's Friday evening and just a few hours ago you said sorry our printer is broken and we'll have to place a service call on MONDAY??? WHAT??? Greener Printer really went above and beyond for me and my team. We printed full color, perfect-bound books and two-sided, full color posters. We printed both of these items on a fairly tight deadline, and were, of course, biting our nails the whole time. Greenprinter is a certified green business that uses recycle paper and soy based inks producing high quality business cards and flyers. The service is great too. I'd give Greenerprinter six stars if I could. Why? Because they screwed up. We're a small non-profit and they made a big (to us) mistake with our key end of year mailing. Then they bent over backwards to make it right, quickly and at no cost. We've used them for print jobs for several years, and have always been very, very happy with the consistent quality and friendly, super helpful customer service. I got my cards exactly as planned (the turnover date, shipping time were both exactly accurate!), and the quality is really fabulous. we got our wedding announcements done by greenerprinter after a friend's recommendation and it was great!! we had priced out a few other places and this was at least $100 less. i was anxious to see the quality and i was thrilled after they arrived. the cards were nice and thick and the printing looked awesome. they arrived just when they said it would too....plus, it is all recycled and soy-based ink so peeps can just recycle our faces when they tire of us staring out from the front of their fridges. read more

I love the idea of recycled craft and white print business cards and hang tags. After over 8 years of buying their products, they misprinted a batch of hang tags, an obvious mistake as they were our usual tags, only dyed an ugly green. Instead of owning up to their error, they claimed they were identical to previous tags and kept my money. Despite that we were able to show them a side by side photo of the different tags, they refused to do a reprint. Very unprofessional, such a disappointment. I lost $250, but they lost my business and any respect I ever had for them. read more

I wanted to be use an eco-friendly printer plus they are local so gave them a shot. Their customer service was excellent, at the beginning. I had all my questions answered promptly by their chat function as well as email and phone. Then it went downhill from there. I kept calling for an update, and they told me they were short staffed. I finally got my client's business cards mailed to me, but the print was off by 1/32". This to me is a huge amount since I can actually see the discrepancy and the business card is not that big. They sent me an email that it is an acceptable industry wide tolerance due to the trimming process. Not sure I will use them again as this was embarrassing to give to my client and he was pressed on time so he did not want to redo them. --------- UPDATE: I decided to try them again at the end of 2009 after the above print job. I have gone to them few more times since and have no problems. The quality is excellent, the service has been exceptional, and most importantly, they are eco-friendly and local! read more

My order was printed on the wrong paper rendering the product unacceptable for my client. 3. No apology was given. 4. After sending three complaints, my and messages calls go unanswered. I used Greenerprinter for a project at work, and they were really fantastic. Answered all my questions quickly, gave personal quotes no problem and were very patient and accommodating when we had to put the project on hold for a week. We designed a post card to be mailed to about 800 people, we sent them an excel doc with the names and addresses, and they did the rest, even the indicia. Everything was printed and mailed very quickly and the quality was excellent, very affordable, not to mention they're green! We will definitely be using them again. read more

Update! After writing my "meh" review of GreenerPrinter, I was contacted by someone at the business addressing my concerns and in the year or so since then they have absolutely made changes. We recently used them for a large scale (for us) project of 5,000 full color brochures and not only were they actually CHEAPER than the (toxic) alternative but they were a much better product than we've had in the past. Not sure how their rates have dropped exactly, but they definitely seem to have dropped. We have also started receiving notices about super-savings sales! and special rates! which is great for small businesses. Definitely impressed. read more

I've been using greenerprinter for years. Most of my past jobs have been on the smaller side. Now, as my business is growing and I need more in the way of business cards, etc., I'm using them more and more. I've always been extraordinarily happy with the social and environmental responsibility of the company, as well as the quality of the product that I receive. A recent order got quite complicated after I needed to change some design elements with my designer after seeing the 1st hard proof and also because the delivery info was in the middle of changing at the same time due to a move. We ended up getting the wrong thing (the files were mixed up and they printed the first version of the job instead of the version that received final approval). Based on this, I've now had a lot of interaction with their customer service as well. The only reason I've taken a star off of this review is that it took quite a while for me to get active engagement from their customer service. Initially, I sent a message, received a prompt reply, but then I had to continually follow up to see forward motion on the matter. That said, now that I have their attention, the service itself is courteous and attentive, and they are taking responsibility for the mistake and correcting it right away. I appreciate that very much. From my experience, the quality is excellent and the ordering process is very easy. If you need help with a complicated order issue, you may need to take the initiative and follow up more than perhaps would be desirable, but if you do so with patience and clarity, they certainly respond in kind and help you however is needed. read more

This a review for their white ink printing on Kraft + their custom estimate process. I submitted a custom estimate including all the details and specifications in the notes section. I also called in with instructions. I was printing a card on Kraft paper with each individually addressed. When I received the estimate, all my notes had been deleted from the order, and customer service had no idea what was happening. It took a several phone calls to straighten out the situation and finally, the price was significantly higher. Which was a fine price to pay for the items, but I had given them all the information up front, so I don't see why there even had to be a "process". This also ultimately delayed the whole job. Finally, the cards were printed accurately, but it turns out that the white ink process that they use (HP Indigo 7000 Digital press) isn't actually white. It's a light grey. I was surprised and called customer service (again!) to see if there was a mistake. Over the phone, they confirmed that the white ink when printed is a light grey color. The women in customer service were helpful and polite. I asked for some samples, and they did sent them quickly. But I think it would've been great to know the color of the white ink upfront, since it's so heavily talked-up on their blog/website. Overall, ok. read more

These guys charged my credit card even before I saw a proof. I never saw the proof because their system just did not produce it for me to look at. I uploaded the artwork again the following day when no proof of the first attempt was forthcoming and I got charged again before I even reviewed the proof. When I called them, they were surprised I had an issue with being charged twice and before I could even see a proof. BTW, having checked other printers, I see that the cost should be about half of what this company charges, and that is after their big discount. What a joke! Stay Away. read more
