I have not been to Greene's in forever ... and the shiny white box building that is Greene's was a welcome beacon in the snow storm, The counter was busy. My order was taken promptly and my meal arrived swiftly. Hot food, hot. Cold food, cold. This place is a small nostalgic mom&pop restaurant that sits on a corner in a shopping plaza. It doesn't look like much, but the three ladies running the restaurant serve up freshly ground hamburgers with onion rings and fries the way they used to be. The burgers are just sublime. You don't think much is going to come from such a small package but it packs a punch in YUM. My bf and I each had two with fries (which are crinkle cut) and we had to order one more to split because it was that good. The cherry coke is a great addition. We think that these burgers are what McDonald's used to taste like back in the day, but who knows. I love that they have kept so much of the original set up, even the carry-out window. I realized, while updating some things on my Yelp! account, that I had checked in here, written notes, posted photos and then didn't push the review out. Oops! Fortunately, I still have my draft notes and I can see that others posted more recent feedback that backs up my notes. Overall, this is a solid, good burger place. When I came here, I ordered some burger sliders and fries. The fries were crinkle cut and were overdone. When I asked to have them adjusted, they just cranked out some new good ones without hesitation. Loved that! Of course, I love straight cut fries like at Five Guys better, but these were very good after they fixed them. The burgers themselves were generous in their meat portion. I noted that when you go for a double or larger burger here, they just put more meat in the patty rather than giving you multiple patties. I think this makes sense and I believe it gives one a more juicy piece of meat rather than two drier ones. No heavy filler or other stuff - just really meaty. Nice! I really like the updated burger joint decor - old school but with a Bauhaus look as you can see in my night photo. Cool! Overall, I really like this place but can't quite give it a five (5) because although I would eat here again if in the neighborhood, it is not quite my favorite in the region (that would be Detroit Burger Bar). So I'm a fan of old fashioned hamburger places like Tel-way and Hunter House. Swung by here after a happy hour and ordered a cheeseburger and chili cheese fries. They "warned" me that the chili comes with beans but honestly it really added to the flavor and made me feel like I was getting a bit of nutrition. Best enjoyed fresh, bun felt warm and steamy but the pickles and cold parts still stayed crisp. Service was friendly and the food was prepared quickly. This is the kind of food that's not meant for Instagram, tastes really good instead of trying to be photogenic. This is the traditional white building burger joint found on many corners of the world. Their burgers are consistent, a tad greasy and good after beers and cocktails to soak up some of the alcohol. My friends that have since moved out of FH used to make us take a run by for some simple burgers from here after a night out. They do a brisk business with carry-out orders, so I joined the crowds and ordered sliders on each of my visits. (A thought just occurred - does anyone order just one slider?) I have gotten hamburger sliders and cheeseburger sliders here. I have also ordered regular French fries and chilli cheese fries. They hit a home run every time! We're still going to Greene's after all these years, every time we're back in Farmington. The staff is friendly and efficient and already knows what you want if you're a regular (like my local uncle). There are only so many seats, so get there early! (There's also a picnic table outside.) I sat in my late grandfather's favorite spot by the jukebox and watched the traffic go by on Orchard Lake. And I still love those sliders and a side of crispy fries! For $2++ a burger, I have tasted better in McDonald's or Burger King. It was deconstructed patties with a few slices of grilled onions and a pickle. The burger was tasteless, had to put seasonings, ketchup and mustard. We were told that the double patties were smashed together as one. Literally, the burger looked terrible;-( The fries were dry and needed salt too! The onion rings were nicely fried. I'm not sure if they make their own fries or onion rings to make this place special. Ordered regular milkshake, I preferred plain vanilla but was given a chocolate flavor. The waitress did not offer any flavor available. Service was terrible. Our order was called out one at a time. We had to stand up on our seats many times and pick up the food. Best to seat at the counter instead of the seat overlooking the road view. For $17, I felt cheated for what we paid for. I'll eat burger some place else. Although there were a lot of people coming in. Not sure if they do come back. Anyways, who ever wants a smashed burger... this is the place for you to try. read more

I went in there; there were 2 women working - about 8pm, Nov 7th, 2023. I said Hi- they both didn't acknowledge me at all! I then asked, "What time do you guys close?" Again- NOTHING- like I was a ghost. I then asked the lady next to me if she'd been helped & she said "No, I've been sitting here waiting." Then - 3 teenage boys come in- they're now 3rd in line. Then the 1 lady (worker) just comes up & starts helping them!! ‍ I've literally never had workers just ignore me; esp when I was nice & asked them a question. AND they ignored the other lady. Bottom line: I don't care what the food tastes like; if owners keep "workers" like THAT- You've lost my business! Permanently. As well as my family's too.
