I've heard a lot about Bray's over the years but since I don't live on this side of town, I haven't had a chance to try them out. Since I was here for an event on Saturday, I thought, why not, let's go check them out. When I pulled in, I wasn't even sure if the lobby was open. It was a Saturday evening and there was two cars here and the inside looked empty. Not a promising sign. Walking up to the door they had a sign posted saying there's no waitstaff and I'd have to order at the carryout area and then they'd bring my order to me. The inside was clean, but again, it was just me in the dining area. Weird. I approached the counter and the young men working were very busy manning the drive through. I scoured the menu and went with the two cheeseburger combo which came with fries and a drink. Yet another sign at the register stated no drink refills are allowed. So many rules! LOL. Anyway, service was quick and the staff was friendly, so that's a bonus. I sat myself at a table and waited. Eventually my food came out, and I liked what I saw. The burgers themselves were good, but there were a few hiccups. For starters, the ketchup at my table was empty. I took the bottle to the counter and left it there for them to refill and went to grab another one off the table. Second bottle from another table was empty as well. The third table didn't even have Ketchup. I finally found one at the bar area and moseyed my way back to my food. Now that the ketchup situation was handled, I dug into my food. Went to get a sip of my Dr. Pepper and it was literally WARM. At this point, I was so irritated that the thought of running back up to get more was just aggravating. I don't know if they put the pop on the grill, or what but it tasted like it had either been sitting out for a while or something. Very irritating. Overall it was a mediocre at best experience. I think I would have been more furious if I had done the drive through and gotten home to find this all out. The place seems like it has to many hiccups and that the staff seemed a bit overworked. They could do better and hire a few more staff for the grill area to ease the stress of the staff. I know the ketchup situation is minor in the scheme of things, but restaurants don't run themselves. The dining area's basically ignored and condiments are running low or out all together. Do better Bray's, you need to do something besides let a bunch of teenagers run amuck in the kitchen and maintain your dining area.

First time in awhile that I've been here. But trying to support small businesses during this shut down time. Line moved quick in drive thru. Lady was pleasant taking order and at the window. Ordered 2 cheeseburgers and large fry. Burgers were cooked perfectly. Hot. Juicy. So good. The fries were more than I expected size wise. But the top fries were cold to the touch. I found a couple like warm ones in the middle. Was disappointed by that since they looked so good. Fresh hot fries are required. Lol. That's the reason for 4 stars and not 5. Overall good experience

Bacon, egg, n cheese on a bun

I've been eating at Brays since the 90s and it hasn't changed one bit (in a good way). Burgers n dogs n fries, and they serve breakfast too. The draw here is definitely the burgers. It's a diner type burger with a whole mess of grilled onions served on top. They also have a thicker patty burger if that's what you fancy. Add a side of chili cheese fries and a chocolate malt and you're good to go. They don't put a lot of rep behind their coney dogs but they're actually pretty good. The breakfast is so-so, but the breakfast sandwiches are pretty awesome. Bacon or sausage, egg n cheese, and you can get it on a bun, bagel, or Texas toast. Try one out, give the egg McMuffin a break, you won't be disappointed.

I had no idea it was a small place in a gas station until I came here to write this review. Re-learned the lesson not to judge a book by its cover! The double smashburgers, which were on a special/deal, were excellent. More food that one person could eat, in this case! My steak & cheese burger was also fantastic. Tender meat, generous portion, and great flavor. My partner had a crispy chicken sandwich she really enjoyed. Would definitely order any of these again! My kids split an Oreo milkshake they really enjoyed, of course it melted a bit in-transit but was still quite tasty. We also had some hot wings (which were EXCELLENT - tender meat, spicy but not insane), and some cheese fries (great, but probably got a bit soggy during delivery - in a perfect world, we'd have the cheese on the side so we can dump it on once they arrive). The onion rings were also a bit of a disappointment - they tasted like they came from a frozen bag, and they were a bit soggy. Maybe poke some holes in the container lid and cook them a bit extra crispy next time? But these are small qualms. Importantly, they got our order perfect. I would love to stop in and try their food in-person to see if it's even better when it's fresh off the grill/fryers.

But when Burger One opened near my office, I decided to give it a shot. Unfortunately, I was really disappointed. The burger was overcooked and dry, and the fries were just mediocre. The ingredients were fresh ... melted smoked Gouda, (shredded) lettuce, tomato and pickled peppers. Not a fan of shredded lettuce. I prefer a couple of leaves of chilled crisp lettuce. The tomato was a winter tomato and did not add any acidity. The bun was properly toasted a beautiful golden brown. The onion rings ... sigh. Tasty and not a grease farm ... and while fried perfectly, they arrived mostly a giant lump of stuck together. They were served hot and on a separate plate a few minutes after the burger arrived. I decided to splurge and try a peanut butter shake. Terrific ice cream ... no HFCS aftertaste. Great peanut butter flavor. Two disappointments: - Value. $8 for the size ... insufficient value. - I like my milkshakes to be blended a bit coarse; not blended textureless, soft-serve smooth. You've been warned. My wife ordered the bison burger, well done. It was served precisely as ordered. She was happy. The portion of sweet potato fries was large, properly fried and served hot. Ambiance ... disturbed by one VERY LOUD woman engaged in a running dialog with the bartender. They seemed to know each other. Otherwise; it is clean, organized and has a good neighborhood bar vibe. Will I return? Yes.

I don't come around often because the hours are odd (they are closed Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday), and the meat goes fast, so by the time I get off from work, a lot of the options are sold out. I've tried the Dirty Rice (rice with pork, brisket, kielbasa, and chicken), Mac & Cheese, and the Brisket. I highly recommend the Brisket and Mac & Cheese. The meal comes with a pound of brisket, coleslaw, and one side. The brisket is tender, juicy, and delicious, with enough meat in the meal for 2-3 people.
