Although my first impression with Greenleaf was great. (Thanks to Heidi) due to them no servicing in century city because of the commute. Things turned bad quickly. They ended up repairing and replacing some parts in one of my hvac units. Unfortunately after a couple months the issue came back and even though it states in the invoice that there is a warranty for parts and repairs. They were still unwilling to come back out and due the right thing and honor the work that they did in the past. As a multi unit apartment and unit owner I would recommend thinking twice before using greenleaf. read more

We finally choose an HVAC company to replace our 25 plus year old AC system. GreenLeaf Heating & Cooling came to look at our unit and sent Cam La (see business card). Cam was very professional and provided us with a reasonable quote that included a 10 year warranty on parts/labor. I had multiple companies come over but what did it for us was Cam's honesty, let me explain. While here I had him look at our furnace, which all of sudden stopped working. I thought it had something to do with the AC unit being out of commission. He looked at the furnace and sent his heating technician over. After looking it over he said someone had disconnected the furnace igniter and tucked the wires nicely away. A representative from one of the AC companies that gave me a quote wanted to charge me for something that wasn't broken!!! !! GreenLeaf connected everything back and didn't charge us for the visit!! Their team came out today and were very professional and did a great job installing the new AC unit and other parts. They were on time and took care of business. So thank God our furnace is working great and now our new AC unit is in place ready for the spring and summer weather!! read more

To begin with, They installed a 10 year old unit on my roof in 2016 which, understandably, breaks down frequently and now they won't even provide me with a maintenance plan to make repairs, instead charging me too much money to come diagnose issues and fix the problem. These guys sold me a brand new unit six years ago. Two years ago it started not cooling when it got really hot. The unit had a warranty so they sent someone out and I paid a service call and whatever it costs to add more coolant to the unit along with some dye so they could find the leak if it happened again. Sure enough this year I had the same problem and the guy came out and found the leak at said a coil in the unit had failed and needed to be replaced. I was happy that the warranty would cover this however the devil is in the details and while the parts are warrantied for ten years, labor is only warrantied for one year. So what was the cost going to be to change the coil? $2500. I paid 12k for the unit new six years ago. In all fairness, I called another guy who quoted me relatively the same price so my one star isn't really about the service or their prices or this vendor, it's due to the fact that they sell units so cheap they're failing after five years and then it's a lot of money to fix them. In all the process took five hours for two guys so basically they charged me $250hr per person to change a part on a faulty unit they sold me. So if I certainly would never buy a unit from these guys again. I've had washers, refrigerators, even coffee machines that lasted longer than this AC did. To pay so much money, 12k for a device that's going to malfunction after five years and then have the company come out and charge another $2500 to fix a product they sold me didn't leave a good taste in my mouth. read more

I was referred to Greenleaf by a neighbor so I mistakenly called to schedule an appointment before checking Yelp. The owner is exactly as other reviewers have described. He scheduled an appointment to come down, never showed, never called, and when I called him, he stated that he would be doing me a "courtesy" by coming by later in the afternoon. Uhm, no thanks! They close earlier than 6p. I was there at 4:50p for an estimate and the door was locked. So I knocked and a guy with shorts approaches the door and asks me what I want. I said, I need an estimate, can I come in cause you close at 6p. He rudely says no, there's no one here to help you. So I respond with, what, you guys are not interested in a job I need? Equipment make/model for HVAC isn't important, installation is. Dockstaders gets it right. When I had my HVAC replaced, I had 3 different contractors come out to give me bids. The low bid came in at $4500. I told them before I could accept the bids and have them do the work, I would have to see an example of their work. They sent me to the sister of the salesman's house. I popped the attic hatch and looked at the furnace that was installed about 5 feet away... it initially looked OK - just OK, but then I started noticing the details... no air sealing mastic around metal seems and joints... no ziptie on the outside of the flex duct... one of the ducts had completely popped off! I thanked the nice lady, let her know she might want to have that install gone over again since something had popped off, and left her with a nice bottle of wine for her troubles. The middle bid (Dockstaders) was for $5700. The peoples house I went to see were just regular customers, and they had a house built in the 20's... nice old woodwork everywhere. Install was in the basement. This looked like a case study on how to install equipment right. Everything was sealed, wrapped, taped, and bound correctly. Workmanship was exemplary. Where they made new cuts into the old wood floor looked great. The work they did on my own home was just as good. I recommend them highly. While I don't do HVAC, I am a pretty hardcore DIYer and know what craftsmanship looks like! read more

Lets start by saying I used their services last year and it took 3 days to repair due to not being able to get a part, okay...Wanted to give them another try. A/C not cooling. Waited 2 days before they could come out, they're in high demand, I get it. They gave me a window of a couple hours at the end of the day which was alright. The technician calls me 10 minutes to 6 pm, at the close of the day. Says my unit is to old and I just need to replace it! He didn't even bother to come out and look to see if it could be fixed, just told me I needed to replace it. I told him he was worrying me a little because he hadn't looked at it and I said maybe I should find someone else to come out. He said "yes, you should". Rude and unprofessional as a business. He went through all the wires and tested everything I suppose and came down and told me he was 97% sure it was the circuit board, quoted us $600 and then told us where we could buy one.We go and buy the item that we were told to use Greenleaf's name, install it and it doesn't work. I was referred here by one of my wife's friend's dad. I had this company install a new unit. They pride themselves on being clean and efficient. What I experienced was quite the opposite. The attic access panel had to be repainted after their work, they left the freon meter attached to the unit which I emailed pictures to the owner. With the installation they promised two free check ups. The owner said will get the meter on the first check up. Unfortunately the freon leaked out before that time and had to get them to come and refill it. Now with the second free check up I made an appointment, took the day off and they were a no show. I was even going to have them change the air ducts. The reason I got for the no show was that they had texted me that they were on the way and I did not respond, and that they had an emergency. So after looking at the reviews on yelp I would not have used this company and neither should you. read more

Their workers are polite and do very clean work with no mess left over. They were able to start work right away during the hottest week of July and finished the work before I even knew it! They even began work less than a week after giving me the estimate! The cool thing about them is they pull out the old furnace, and patch the holes left behind which keeps you from having to hire a contractor I highly recommend choosing them over the other guys! The owner of this company was very unprofessional and rude. He had an employee go rogue and me as the consumer, had to hear his wrath about wanting to see this guy in prison. I just wanted my a/c looked at and the employee who went rogue, happened to be the guy who installed it. Owner was rude to me and I tried telling him I had nothing to do with his rogue employee. he then said "it'll cost you for us to come out and by the way, it's my day off". He called me!!! You're the owner, do you really get days offI. In no way was I asking for a freebie. He then quoted me $129 for one of his guys to come out, when his receptionist already quoted me $49. WTH!! Who's the crook now?!! I kindly told him about the price difference his receptionist quoted me and he said that's not the price. I proceeded to tell him I was uncomfortable talking to him any further and I was hanging up. Never going to recommend this company to anyone. Receptionist very nice, owner not so much. read more

So disappointed! Years ago we purchased our system through Dockstaders, now GreenLeaf, and they have been great at service and warranty work over the years. Two days ago I called to have someone help me understand why my system was making high pitched sound when it was on. Of course you can't get any advise over the phone so a service call was placed. I was quoted a time of 8 am to 11 am for today. I called around 10 am just to get an approximate time of arrival and was told my time slot was now 10 am to 1 pm. I and taken the day off work so it was not that big of a deal. The service man arrived and said he was 100% sure it was just a loose in take vent even before he touched anything. He then proceeded to fiddle with the vent give me a quote of $75 to $99 and write me a bill for $99.00. What happened to customer service, customer loyalty? How was that $99 bucks worth of work? $75.00 for the service call would have been a little better! This was a very expensive lesson! Next I will try somewhere else...... read more

I recently replaced my nearly 30 y/o HVAC system w/ a new one from GreenLeaf. I had several estimates from other contractors, but Doug Farnik got the bid. Green Leaf is not the cheapest, but the extra money is well spent. As with any brand of HVAC, it's really the quality of the installation that is the key to overall success over time. GreenLeaf claims to have 'proprietary' equipment with their name on it, but really it's by Goodman. Once we agreed on the exact system, Doug and his crew showed up almost the next day. The removal of the old equipment was done on day 1, and the new system installed completely on day 2. GreenLeaf has experienced installers who generally have been w/ them for years. I was replacing a Freon based system w/ the newer R410a. Crucial to this, the existing copper lines have to be completely flushed out and cleaned, dried, flushed out w/ nitrogen etc. Doug's crew did all this meticulously and the new furnace, coils, condenser all installed nice and neat. Not surprisingly, the new system worked great and we are delighted. Better still, about two weeks after completion, the inspectors show up to thoroughly test out the entire system and duct work. Based on their tests, some adjustments were made including topping up the R410a charge, increasing the air flow on the blower etc., which made the whole system work even better! We are thrilled to have great A/C for the long hot summer. I would definitely call GreenLeaf again for any future HVAC needs. read more
