I called the restaurant, and to their credit, they immediately apologized and offered to remake the order right away. That kind of responsiveness goes a long way, and I appreciated their willingness to make it right without hesitation. I drove back to pick up the corrected order, and the staff again apologized and had everything ready. Unfortunately, when I got home the second time, the wings were there--but the blue cheese was missing. At that point, it was late, and I decided to just call it a night. Lesson learned on my end: always take a moment to check the order before leaving. Rookie mistake. Now for the food itself: * Pizza: Delicious overall, with great flavor and quality ingredients. I personally prefer a thinner crust, but the taste was solid. The truffle oil was a bit heavy for my palate and slightly overpowered the other flavors. I also would have preferred the sausage to be crumbled rather than in larger chunks for more even distribution. * Wings: Very good--crispy, well-seasoned, and satisfying. They just really needed that blue cheese to complete the experience. Despite the hiccups, the team handled the situation professionally, and the food quality is clearly there. This is a popular neighborhood spot with creative menu options, and I'd absolutely give them another try. Helpful tip for future customers: Parking can be tight, and takeout orders can get busy--so double-check your order before you leave. It'll save you a second trip. Great spot overall. They've even been recognized by the James Beard Foundation for their pizzas, which makes sense once you try them. We each got a drink (strong--in a good way) and ordered pizzas to go: the elote chicken and the liberation potato. Both were super unique and honestly really good. A little day trip to Charlotte meant I had to find a local bar and so happy I stumbled upon this one which happened to be a Dominican owned spot (heyyyyy ) - I tried two of their local brews which were amazing & a side of their lemon pepper wings which were chefs kiss. I really love this spot! My friends and I stopped by on Saturday to check out their coffee party and had a super fun chill time. I got there about noon after a yoga class and it wasn't super packed at all. I was happy about that because I know folks love Salud, as they should. I think I was just early and that was perfect. I loved teh music and the DJ, the vibe was so upbeat and positive. It matched the beautyiful sopace and day operfectly. Salud has so many beautiful plants and art. It's such a vibe. I ordered the lox bagel sandwich and it came on a cheddar jalapeno bagel. SO GOOD!!! I loved the lil cup of pineapple chunks, canned but yummy. April 2025: The food at Salud is incredible. I don't know how I forgot about that. So, when I went back recently, I made sure to indulge in the items that I knew would really deliver. Their pizzas are amazing, and there is something for everyone whether you are a meat lover, more plant-based, whatever. And the wings are really good too! I also ordered an espresso martini. And while they didn't have espresso, the bartender was able to make it with a nitro cold brew, and it was the smoothest espresso martini I've ever had. Probably the best one yet. And I'm wondering if they could even re-create it. It was giving, once in a lifetime. Anyway, I can't really comment on the beer because I didn't have any on this trip and it's been a while since I've drank their brews. But I do remember them being good. Last time I was here, I had a mimosa. Another thing about Salud is it's pretty chill. I appreciate the laid-back vibes and it can easily be a family/friendly spot as long as it's not one of the live DJ nights. So families should go during the daytime. Super cute little bar in NoDa...live plants all over the place. Plenty of different seating areas and there is even shuffle board. A group of us came on a Saturday afternoon...we had planned on bar hopping and this was our second stop. We all chose different beers and ordered some pizza rolls and wings to share. There seemed like a large selection of beer but there were a lot of sours and only one stout. The pizza rolls were REALLY good and I thought the wings were too but one of our party said they were too hot. We really enjoyed our visit...I'll come back the next time I'm in Charlotte. read more

Fantastic local beer and pizza in Charlotte, NoDa district. We had a party of 25 that was accommodated with aplomb at the last minute. I thought it was a dive at first and it is, but one with damn good beer and pizza. I tried their hazy IPA as well as one of their lagers. I love this business so much. The pizza is great, the vibe is dark and chill (I mean upstairs, haven't been downstairs yet), the wine list is legit and the staff is really damn lovely. Last night was my second time here and honestly, I couldn't stop thinking about it between visits to Charlotte. Yes, the vegan pizza is that good! There's only one option and it has all you need on a pizza: crispy kale (trust me, it's incredible on pizza), vegan cheese & sausage, tomatoes and a tiny bit of onion with balsamic drizzle adding a touch of sweetness. I am so impressed by their carefully curated selection of wines, many of them by the glass. You don't always get that at a place known for its beers, so I appreciate it. Last night I had a rosé that was really light and lovely for summertime. Both times I visited, I thought the bartenders were so nice, especially the gal working last night. She gave recommendations and was fun to chat with about local spots for drinks after they closed. They serve until 10. They will let you order until then and stay until you're finished unlike some places that make you feel like it's time to wrap things up a half hour before closing. Charlotte is NOT known for its pizza but when you find a great place that its known mainly for their beer, wine and coffee, the foodie in you becomes super curious. My curiosity doesnt always favor but in Salud it always does. Their pizza is anything but typical. I recently went and tried two other pies rather than my typical tenderoni (pepperoni) but glad I got out of my comfort zone. Their service is friendly and the location is prime. Down stairs is their bottle shop where you can order and enjoy just the same as the upstairs typically known for their coffee however also has beers on tap and wine. Salud is still good after all these years, but they've transformed for the better. Admittedly, I always order delivery from them even though I live in the neighborhood, so I can't speak to the current in-house service or the ambiance. But as for the food, it is my lazy night pizza go-to, and it never disappoints. My favorite is the El Gordo with pepperoni. It is the quintessential meat-lovers pizza taken to the next level with hot honey and whipped ricotta. I usually eat half and then save the rest for lunch the next day. It heats up nicely in the microwave or the oven. In true Salud fashion, there are still many vegan options, making this an excellent place to come if you have a friend group with varying dietary needs or for a meatless Monday. It was so filling I had some left over. My salted Carmel Latte was sweet and gave me the energy I needed to jump started my Saturday. Thus place has a really great ambience walk up stairs to restaurant. Lots of creative seating options, large TV's to watch sports and just a really great interior for amazing drinks and food. This is our go to spot when grabbing a bite to eat before seeing a show at the Evening Muse. A comfortable place to have a beer, cocktail and pizza. There is several areas to sit, games to play- shuffleboard and pool tables. You place your order at the bar and they bring your food to you . We have tried several of their pizzas, but our favorite is the Latin Lingo . A woodfired pizza with a white creme base, topped with corn, onion, chicken and cheese. The crust is thin and pizza is very tasty. We also shared the beet salad. The beet salad was good, but the pistachio nuts were awkward to blend and eat. They have an extensive selections of canned seltzers, cider and hard teas. I tried the Dunkin spiked iced tea and it was very good. Others tried their peanut butter and jelly sour and were pleasantly surprised how much they liked it. Even though it was dark , it was light. This spot is a whole vibe. I love all of the plants and open space - this is the brewery portion upstairs where the bottle shop is downstairs. Lots of different seating options and really loved the art work. The pizza was SO GOOD and unique, loved the beer and how they serve flights and a sake slushy - so cool.
