Was greeted soon after I walked in and was offered assistance...let them know I was just looking around for a putter. The sales rep mentioned the days they perform putter fittings. The one thing I do like, they offer the price of the fitting will be deducted from the price of a putter if you buy one after the fitting...which is a plus! This store was It appeared to be clean, fully stocked, and have a friendly staff. Spent an hour testing out several different brands and models of putters in the putter section, their green area isn't large but was able to test out several different putters. Another employee came over and asked if I needed any assistance, much better customer service compared to the previous GG store I visited.

I learned about golf, the swing, having manners/being polite to fellow golfers (i.e. be quiet when someone is hitting, allow people to play through if you're playing slow, making friendships, etc....) and sportsmanship. He put the love of the game and confidence in me (along with loving the 69 Mets and fishing off the Jetty at the base of the Throgs Neck Bridge) to achieve anything. I felt like I was 7 yrs old again this morning during my lesson with Rick. Rick's passion for the game, his teaching knowledge and techniques, along with his ability to positively "listen" and communicate back to me; why you do, what you need to do , to correct and understand your swing. Ricks true passion and understanding of the golf swing, along with his initiative, communication skills (including his listening skills) and ability to have you understand the game and your swing is legendary. Took lessons on and off for the past 10 years . Then I met Rick and can finally hit it straight! What a great golf teacher and experience! Rick is patient and professional and has an insight into working on improving your golf game by recognizing your weaknesses and working on them. He really diagnoses your swing faults and helps you to improve them . He is truly a pleasure to work with and makes the process of learning and improving your golf game fun! So glad that I am working with him.

Poor customer service and zero flexibility for an honest mistake…read more On 4/15 around 7:20pm, I accidentally booked the wrong tee time (4/16 instead of 4/18). I realized it immediately and tried to call the clubhouse, but it was already closed. There is also no option to cancel or modify a booking online, so there was no way to fix the mistake that night. I called first thing the next morning and was told "tough luck" and I would be charged the full fee with no ability to receive a credit or make a change. I understand having policies to protect against no-shows, but this situation was clearly different. I attempted to correct my error right away and was given no option to do so. A simple credit or rebooking option would have been a reasonable solution. Instead, there was no flexibility or willingness to work with me on an honest mistake. I've played a lot of courses, and this is the least accommodating experience I've had when trying to resolve a simple booking error.

Great course in the middle of Newark, don't tell too many people about this newly renovated course.read more
