The staff is selective with whom they help and who gets the pleasant treatment, and unfortunately, I'm never on the receiving end of it. Customer service was pretty unwelcoming and made me feel like I was a total inconvenience, which is a shame because it's a great store. It was made very clear that I was selecting too many items in the herb vault and was told I should have called ahead with an order. Didn't know that...it was my first time shopping there. The guy helping me actually sighed and rolled his eyes when I asked for activated charcoal because it was messy. He even corrected me rudely when I mispronounced an herb. I asked if I should come back at a better time and I think he realized I was irritated because he then he started trying to be nice and make small talk. Next time I'll order my stuff online. The physical environment is aesthetically pleasing, but unfortunately the customer service was far from hospitable. From the moment my fiancé and I walked in the store we felt many peering eyes. Having three different staff members intrusively asking whether I need help within a five minute period is does not inspire me to spend my hard-earned money. Because I need to keep my guns in great condition, I came here. Oh and my trainer told me to come here, too. Anyway, walked right in and was greeted immediately by Dian. Extremely friendly lady, who helped me to find just what I needed. She let me peruse the aisles for a bit, but I made myself stop after noticing that healthy goods come at a great price, and forced myself to walk quickly over to the counter to make my purchase (1lb Bluebonnet Whey Protein Isolate in French Vanilla) for roughly $27. I like this place but I prefer to go to Artesian- mainly because the staff at Green's has been confused about things that I've asked for, or they've looked puzzled and concluded that they didn't have what I was looking for. (Upon searching for it myself, I've typically found it). They do, however, have a lot of items that I love, and sometimes they can be cheaper than Artesian. I haven't been all that impressed with their Gluten Free items, however, I know that they'll most likely get what I need in the future. I went to location recently and was followed around the store and watched by one staff member for no apparent reason other than the color of my skin. Today will be the last time that I come into this store. I came in, looked around for a bit, even though I knew what I wanted when I came inside. Immediately after I came in, I was asked if I needed help, which I actually did. I was directed to the vault for the item that I needed. Once I came out of the vault. This lady hovered around me asking me if I needed any help again. She is the reason I will not be coming back. Green's is the only place in Stockton (that I'm aware of) that sells Topricin, an anti-inflammatory cream, with no scent. Currently, I use this product on my clients whenever they complain about sore muscles and pain; I highly recommend this product. However, Green's Nutrition is a drive for me from North Stockton and I wish they carried the pump size of the Topricin. But, I'll still give them four stars for being one of the alternative/health stores in town.
