The problem was a bit of a mystery, after Ray had tried all the basic stuff (fuel pump, relays, etc) and took a lot of work to resolve. Ray showed up very quickly, brought parts, tried some stuff, bought a few more parts, tried a few more things and... after some more parts-buying and stuff-trying (keeping us in the loop the entire time about why he was doing this or that thing and giving us the option to not keep going) he was able to fix the problem, explain what he fixed in simple terms, and give us "things to look out for" as my partner drove home. He made it home with no issues! Ray's prices were super reasonable considering he was doing the work on a Sunday afternoon in the road in front of my house. He was tenacious about getting to the bottom of things and his knowledge of cars is encyclopedic. Really good communicator, friendly guy, I would absolutely use him again for anything from routine work to something more complex.

Apparently only a "walk around" estimate is free of charge. If they open the hood and actually look at the engine, there is a $150 charge. Seriously? Aside from that, they ripped the glove compartment out and left it on the passenger-side floor. We obviously will not be back.

They literally rescued stranded scouts (and one very anxious Assistant Scout Master). Long story short. My truck was overheating three and a half hours from home, and over an hour from where I needed to be. I limped into the service station at 4:40 on a Friday evening (20 min before closing for the weekend). Without any delay, the team got to work on my truck. They used connections to get parts very quickly and started immediately. Within an hour we were back on the road and made it, safely, to our destination for Winter Trek. I cannot express my gratitude for your willingness to help, expertise, professionalism and commitment to community. The Scout Law and Oath dictate commitment to these values. You showed these boys, firsthand, what it means to live them. You put your personal plans and obligations aside to help others. The boys will have that "adventure" memory along with the planned adventures in the winter wonderland that is Vermont.
