I wish the menu included more options/smoothies/smoothie bowls without nuts and/or banana.

I like the place and I like the concept. I've only been three times to be honest. It's rare I bother going because I live near Organnons and just go there to grab a bonafide provision green drink with bone broth along with some other goods I may come across while there. It's weird to say but Greenstraw is a bit out of my way even though I'm always down on Sycamore Street hitting up La Stalla's. Overall the product quality is not what prevents me from coming back nor is it what prevents me from returning. I like the idea of supporting said business however I wish the product was so good that it demanded I go there instead of just going to the nearby health store. Part of this is also not totally the fault of product quality, it's the location. It's a great location sure, plenty of walking traffic, but also to get there you have to deal with plenty of traffic as well. Thus maybe why the 5 minute drive to Organnons is so much more appealing. Yet.. I've gotten to a point now where I'm sort of demanding my green drinks have bone broth. One of my favorite drinks was from Whole Foods, their own made Green envy, however since I've been enjoying bone broth green drinks Green envy has come down in favoritism as well. My thing with yelp is I recommend and suggest ideas in my reviews. I think it would be cool to develop a few items with bone broth. Perhaps get creative with this. I once had a roasted duck bone broth green drink with fennel and sage while in Portland. That was insanely delicious. A few items with bone broth would go a long way as with bonafide drinks they are stuck with their five flavors so that should be easy to out compete. That's all. I don't really "Yelp" and I don't want my name known. I bit my tongue for a long time, but now I want to review. Been a regular since it has opened. I don't like the fact that the prices keep going up ($12 something for a bowl-- seriously?!) But the quality is not. Price increases of the "organic" produce, is probably the reason they will give. No. Firstly, they only use organic and local when they have it and secondly, plenty of other small business competitors sell bowls and smoothies about $2-3 less for the same quality and ingredients. I buy juices only good for another day or two sometimes. Regardless of what excuse is made, there is absolutely no reason a point card system can't be remade. I know it was unsuccessfully done in the past and was told by employees was ruined by the difficult clientele in the area, but for those who have spent $50 at a time and are barely middle class income financially, it could do wonders. Like, if people are trying to get things for free constantly, they probably can afford the whole menu with one swipe. This isn't for them. However, it's insulting that something like, one free medium smoothie after every ten transactions isn't a thing. That would be ideal and honestly, fair. The owner doesn't bother to get to know your name after so much time, it's quite obvious they do not care. Not the best business practices. And they always are gossiping about the owner when she is not in the store. Probably will stop coming because why bother giving money to a business that only cares about just that. read more

I just tried an acai bowl here for the first time! They have a big menu with both acai and pitaya, and lots of indoor and outdoor seating. The staff was friendly and even brought out a bowl of water for my dog! My acai bowl tasted great - I'll be back! read more

Come here at least once every two weeks, the smoothies are fantastic and made from completely organic foods. Between this and Smoothie King, Greenstraw wins by a mile. In terms of the actual smoothie I recommend the Mango Tree option read more

Great place, Great service, Nice staff. BUT, one small note. They recently made the pre made juice bottles smaller than what they were before. I'd rather pay a little more than lose a nice gulp of juice. Lived in LA, for 16 years, these places are all over and it's great to have one local. These new bottles are way to small in comparison to what is popular in Los Angeles. Hope you take my note, or at least give option for larger size. Will be back for sure. read more

Everyday I make my way over to Sycamore Street for my Kale, lemon and Apple Smoothie with Ginger and my Acai Bowl!! Not only do I love the taste but I haven't gotten so much as a cold and I have so much more energy. The staff are wonderful and the place is Immaculate.. I got the "Before the Burn" smoothie, and I was full for hours :D it was a delicious blend of berries, and I don't regret a thing!

The smoothies are average. They use apple juice in everything which is a total cop out. Prepare to wait 35 minutes if there are 4 people in there. Horribly slow, bad service. Nobody cares. read more

I have to be honest, it's very rare that I ever take the time to use Yelp to leave reviews, but my experience at Greenstraw is the big exception. I went there on Sunday morning for the first time ever, and I wasn't disappointed at all. The friendliest employee (young brown haired girl with glasses, though I forgot to catch her name!) I've ever had the pleasure of being served by recommended a smoothie for me after I was stuck on what to get, and as she was making it, she wouldn't stop smiling and cracking jokes that had me crying from laughter. I was having a bad day beforehand, and her energy combined with the delicious smoothie was all I needed to get right back on track. Thank you Greenstraw! I can't wait to come back soon! read more

I have been here about a dozen times. Each time I have ordered smoothies and they have been inconsistent. Sometimes it is nice and thick and delicious and other times it seems to be runny and watered down. They have a wide variety of unique snacks which is great and also pre made bottles of fresh pressed juice. I agree with the other review about the music, it's very loud. There have always been young kids working there and they are always friendly. If it is busy be prepared to wait awhile for your drink. Twice I have gone and stopped in and didn't order anything because the girls working said it would be 15 min wait for a drink and I was pressed for time. Also, it is very clean and they offer a lot of local produce. Definitely worth a try. read more

I was very excited for Greenstraw Smoothies to open, but despite the short amount of time they have been open and the many times I have visited this shop, I have not had very good experiences there. I think it is overpriced, the owner is rude, and the smoothies honestly aren't that great. I could make better tasting smoothies at home myself and it would cost much less! The thing I disliked most is that all of their smoothies are made with stevia, unless requested otherwise, and this little fact is posted on the menu in very small font which is very hard to read. In my opinion, I think their smoothies shouldn't be sweetened unless requested otherwise. After I purchased a smoothie and realized there was stevia in it, I kindly asked the owner if I could get another smoothie without stevia in it, (May I add I got a kids size of the smoothie) and she told me no. From what I know from being in the restaurant business, you should accommodate your customers in any way possible to make them happy, this may include making them a new smoothie. The owner told me that she would not switch this smoothie out with a new one for me, she also told me that she was in the "process of creating a larger sign on the counter to tell customers about the stevia." Funny thing is, on that day I was there, there was no sign...So instead of accommodating the customer and making a new smoothie in a KIDS SIZE, she lost a reoccurring customer. My family and friends come here pretty often as well and have had some rude encounters with the owner as well, and they have also told me that they would not like to come back either. read more
