I was visiting New Hope to celebrate my birthday - I ended up visiting here three times. I'm not vegan but appreciated the absolute deliciousness of everything I ordered. The rosemary french fries were outrageously good. The tofu banh mi was great! I returned for my birthday dinner and had the grilled lion's mane steak and coconut cake. I am not a vegan and neither is my husband. I have liked the Vegan food I have tried in my life, and my husband was terrified to try it. I have wanted to try this place though so this was our chance. It was really cute inside and actually pretty spacious. First of all, I got the 'Cucumber Fresca' to drink which was Muddled Cucumber, Fresh Lime & Mint Sprigs, Coconut Water, Agave. It was SO refreshing and delicious. I wanted to buy a jug of this stuff. My husband and I shared the 'Loaded Nachos' which was House-Made Tortilla Chips, Pico de Gallo, Avocado, Black Beans, Cashew Queso, Salsa Verde & Sour Cream Drizzle. Again, this was very flavorful and a really good portion size. For the entrees, my husband got the 'Piergios' which was Locally Made Potato Pierogi Sautéed with Caramelized Onions, Served with Applesauce and Sour Cream. As a guy who was scared of Vegan food, he really enjoyed these. The entree was $24 which he thought was a high price for the size of the entree but he liked the taste. I got the 'Truffle Topped Mushroom Risotto' which was a Chunky Mushroom Medley, Carnaroli Rice, Shaved Truffle. It needed a bit more flavoring but it was still a decent portion and had a good taste overall. We ended the meal with the 'Carrot Cake'. It was really good size and the icing was delicious! The staff was super helpful and friendly. The price of our whole meal, including tip, was $120.... which is high for sure but Vegan food is always higher. Would I come back? maybe. My family decided to do a day trip to New Hope and with food allergies and a special diet, I did some research the night before. I called this place and got Alex who was very optimistic about our choices there. Just for reference, we're allium-free vegetarians as a family and my youngest is allergic to wheat, eggs, avocado, peanuts, tree nuts, pineapple, kiwi. We generally don't eat well at vegan places. They often rely too much on alliums and I prefer not to order things I can make at home (*cough* salad, stir fry *cough*). Long story short, the optimism was misplaced once Alex double checked with the chef, which I sadly expected, but we still had some hope. Because there was a reserved table who were also allium free, they already prepared an allium-free lasagna! With that promise, I went with V-spot. Made a reservation and everything just for fun. The place is completely vegan and cute in a touristy spot, just a few minutes walk around the corner from the train station. No street parking but there are parking lots you need to pay for nearby. We found a parking lot where the children's museum was and that lasted until we left. We were greeted immediately and most of the outdoor tables were filled as well as maybe half of the inside tables. This was at 1 pm on a Sunday. Clearly, they were known. After a lot of questions with our waiter, we ended up getting: FILET MIGNON: the protein is mock meat and has a very interesting texture! It was topped with a dollop of seasoned butter (we did a tiny taste test and there was likely leeks in it, so we pushed it off) which would have probably helped with hii I w it was a tad on the dry side. But it went well with the polenta and the little cherry tomatoes were a good contrast. Wish there were more. This dish was the most expensive ($35) and we got it because (1) we could have it aside from the butter and (2) we were intrigued. TRUFFLE BRIE GRILLED CHEESE: we're not vegan but I was interested at trying vegan Brie again (I had an excellent rendition at Rebel Cheese in Austin, Texas) and I do love truffles. This was pretty filling and the side of sweet potato fries were excellent. Perfectly crisp. I would definitely get those again. As for the Brie.... I didn't really see/taste it. That was slightly disappointing but it was accompanied by a pate-like spread that might have been the "truffle" component. I honestly couldn't detect much of a truffle flavor. Overall, this was okay. Not bad, the pate definitely had a bunch of flavor, but it didn't taste like I'd expect. The fries were my favorite part. This one was $19. VEGETABLE LASAGNA: This actually comes gluten free! They use Jovial GF lasagna pasta (Jovial makes the best GF pasta in my opinion and I do use them when I cook) and it's also full of veggies. I'm not sure how their usual version (including alliums) is like, but this one had mushy pasta in it. Maybe it's because it was from the day before? But I did like the veggies and the "ricotta" tasted/looked like it was tofu based. Didn't taste many herbs, if any. Overall, not bad. But I wish it were better than "not bad" when I'm paying $24 for it. KIDS GRILLED CHEESE (GF) W/ FRIES: my daughter wanted this. As soon as she saw the grilled cheese, she made a face. Then she exclaimed that the cheese smelled weird. Hah. Picky kids. I did eat half of the grilled cheese and it's actually pretty good considering it's GF and I thought whatever vegan cheese they used in it was fairly close to what I remember of Kraft singles cheese. FRIES (GF): we ordered a side of fries for the child with the food allergies and hoped he'd eat some of the lasagna. He did not eat the lasagna but he did eat most of the fries. We'll take it! The fries were well seasoned and perfectly crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. (They also have rosemary fries but we ordered the plain because rosemary had a chance of being rejected by the kids. If it were me, I'd have gotten the rosemary.) They also had a brunch going on (it comes with a complimentary glass of champagne), but they use vegan eggs and I have not encountered a vegan egg substitute we can have, so I sadly passed. I know they use Just Eggs. Not sure how they do the as in tv side up eggs, which look pretty impressive, though not exactly like the real thing. And we don't drink alcohol so the champagne offer was wasted. As it were, I left full so that is a good thing... and we didn't need to order a salad. The bill was a little over $100 so this place isn't cheap, but the choices are pretty interesting! Staff are pretty helpful and friendly as well so that boosts up the rating. They have restrooms but only one room per gender; the female restroom is a little bigger than the men's. There was a period of time where there was always a line. A pretty good place to find sustenance and I'm glad we had more substantial options. And their fries are awesome. ! read more

We sat outside and I believe our waiter's name was Vannah! They were the only waiter at the time and yet still gave us an amazing experience and took great care of us :) They helped us choose our meals -- we landed on the kimchi dish and the fajitas dish. Wow... the food was amazing. You can tell there was so much care put into the dishes. It was almost hard to believe the fajitas were vegan!! We love the food - there is something for everyone, whether they are vegan or not. If you want comfort food, they've got it. If you want something a little healthier, they've got that, too. We love the seasonal changes and the favorites they keep on the menu. And my son loves the hot chocolate. I love the lavender lemonade. Service is attentive and friendly. The French onion soup was lacking salt, was way too sweet and it also have huge chunks of bay leaf which is a big no no. The wedge salad was just ok. Hard to eat since it's not a true iceberg wedge and the bacon was odd. Considering the pricing, I definitely expected more but sometimes places excel in the appetizers and fall short everywhere else. The place is cute though and the staff is lovely. Super helpful and sweet. I so wanted to love this restaurant, being a 30+year vegan. But alas, it was absolutely tasteless. How can mashed potatoes have zero taste? I had to ask for some salt, so it tasted like something, not paper mache paste. The seitan that they buy from another vendor was much too chewy. I could barely swallow it. We shared the veggie burger and the holiday loaf. Please don't waste your $$$ on these 2 entrees. Visiting New Hope, PA from Los Angeles (home of great vegan fare), I wasn't sure what to expect -- until we had dinner at the V-Spot: a creative and outstanding bistro, vegan or otherwise. The menu is far-reaching with many avenues to go down... soups are terrific (had the chili and cornbread - wow); crab cakes, Mediterranean Platter, salads, pasta w/pesto -- all made with heart and soul. The warm service was akin to dining in a friend's kitchen - thanks Ollie! Cafe is spotless, art hangs everywhere, bar and mocktails are cool, and the outdoor dining on Main Street is fun. Prices are very fair, especially for the quality and service. Frankly, you could stay in New Hope for 3-4 days and eat here every night, it's that good and that wide ranging. Wow - a nice meal first off! Yes it's plant based and vegan but the menu is diverse, the service is friendly and natural, and ambience is relaxing and nice both inside or outside. Reuben pastrami (seitan) was awesome - can't see how a meat one would top. They did a schrimp scampi using a root vegetable that was cooked nicely and sauced well - and didn't taste or smell overly fishy. Spicy tofu banh mi had excellent bread and great kick. Almost the entire menu is gluten-free, and the staff was so accommodating with my allergies--they went out of their way to make sure everything was safe for me. Their food is really good and a lot of their alternative options for meats were new to us which was a treat. We ordered french onion soup and the trumpet oyster mushrooms- and the soup was extremely bland and mushrooms were overly salty and mushy. I realized this is a more "health conscious" space. There was a healthy bread in the soup, and the mushrooms weren't fried or coated in breading. Its just not what we expected. When asked for our drinks, the waiter informed us that she "will put in our drinks now, but wants to place the whole order as one". The place was not busy and the Hispanic old lady that sat us down was not kind. She gave us a dull look while asking us what we needed and this lady took forever just to get us water.
