    Truffle Brie Grilled Cheese
    Iris T.

My family decided to do a day trip to New Hope and with food allergies and a special diet, I did some research the night before. I called this place and got Alex who was very optimistic about our choices there. Just for reference, we're allium-free vegetarians as a family and my youngest is allergic to wheat, eggs, avocado, peanuts, tree nuts, pineapple, kiwi. We generally don't eat well at vegan places. They often rely too much on alliums and I prefer not to order things I can make at home (*cough* salad, stir fry *cough*). Long story short, the optimism was misplaced once Alex double checked with the chef, which I sadly expected, but we still had some hope. Because there was a reserved table who were also allium free, they already prepared an allium-free lasagna! With that promise, I went with V-spot. Made a reservation and everything just for fun. The place is completely vegan and cute in a touristy spot, just a few minutes walk around the corner from the train station. No street parking but there are parking lots you need to pay for nearby. We found a parking lot where the children's museum was and that lasted until we left. We were greeted immediately and most of the outdoor tables were filled as well as maybe half of the inside tables. This was at 1 pm on a Sunday. Clearly, they were known. After a lot of questions with our waiter, we ended up getting: FILET MIGNON: the protein is mock meat and has a very interesting texture! It was topped with a dollop of seasoned butter (we did a tiny taste test and there was likely leeks in it, so we pushed it off) which would have probably helped with hii I w it was a tad on the dry side. But it went well with the polenta and the little cherry tomatoes were a good contrast. Wish there were more. This dish was the most expensive ($35) and we got it because (1) we could have it aside from the butter and (2) we were intrigued. TRUFFLE BRIE GRILLED CHEESE: we're not vegan but I was interested at trying vegan Brie again (I had an excellent rendition at Rebel Cheese in Austin, Texas) and I do love truffles. This was pretty filling and the side of sweet potato fries were excellent. Perfectly crisp. I would definitely get those again. As for the Brie.... I didn't really see/taste it. That was slightly disappointing but it was accompanied by a pate-like spread that might have been the "truffle" component. I honestly couldn't detect much of a truffle flavor. Overall, this was okay. Not bad, the pate definitely had a bunch of flavor, but it didn't taste like I'd expect. The fries were my favorite part. This one was $19. VEGETABLE LASAGNA: This actually comes gluten free! They use Jovial GF lasagna pasta (Jovial makes the best GF pasta in my opinion and I do use them when I cook) and it's also full of veggies. I'm not sure how their usual version (including alliums) is like, but this one had mushy pasta in it. Maybe it's because it was from the day before? But I did like the veggies and the "ricotta" tasted/looked like it was tofu based. Didn't taste many herbs, if any. Overall, not bad. But I wish it were better than "not bad" when I'm paying $24 for it. KIDS GRILLED CHEESE (GF) W/ FRIES: my daughter wanted this. As soon as she saw the grilled cheese, she made a face. Then she exclaimed that the cheese smelled weird. Hah. Picky kids. I did eat half of the grilled cheese and it's actually pretty good considering it's GF and I thought whatever vegan cheese they used in it was fairly close to what I remember of Kraft singles cheese. FRIES (GF): we ordered a side of fries for the child with the food allergies and hoped he'd eat some of the lasagna. He did not eat the lasagna but he did eat most of the fries. We'll take it! The fries were well seasoned and perfectly crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. (They also have rosemary fries but we ordered the plain because rosemary had a chance of being rejected by the kids. If it were me, I'd have gotten the rosemary.) They also had a brunch going on (it comes with a complimentary glass of champagne), but they use vegan eggs and I have not encountered a vegan egg substitute we can have, so I sadly passed. I know they use Just Eggs. Not sure how they do the as in tv side up eggs, which look pretty impressive, though not exactly like the real thing. And we don't drink alcohol so the champagne offer was wasted. As it were, I left full so that is a good thing... and we didn't need to order a salad. The bill was a little over $100 so this place isn't cheap, but the choices are pretty interesting! Staff are pretty helpful and friendly as well so that boosts up the rating. They have restrooms but only one room per gender; the female restroom is a little bigger than the men's. There was a period of time where there was always a line. A pretty good place to find sustenance and I'm glad we had more substantial options. And their fries are awesome. !

We sat outside and I believe our waiter's name was Vannah! They were the only waiter at the time and yet still gave us an amazing experience and took great care of us :) They helped us choose our meals -- we landed on the kimchi dish and the fajitas dish. Wow... the food was amazing. You can tell there was so much care put into the dishes. It was almost hard to believe the fajitas were vegan!! Definitely a new favorite spot and worth the hour+ drive there.

My work bestie and I stole away for a quick lunch and she agreed to try The place I'd been dying to check out. We had fast and friendly service and the food was amazing! The salmon was so soft and delicate and tasted so much like the real thing. I couldn't believe it! The night before I watched everyone else gorge themselves on real calamari, so being able to get my own vegan version was a real treat! The place is cute and simply appointed, but perfect for lunch.

I'm not even vegan and I loved the food. Cute ambiance, amazing food, genuine waitstaff. Got a Rueben, calamari, soup sampler. Extremely delicious.

Finally got to try this new Vegan spot- SO glad I did! Not only is everything vegan, but it's farm to table style, and all organic, and it showed in the food. As someone who is trying to be more mindful of what I'm eating, this is perfect for a night out where you can get good food and not feel awful after The veggie burger sliders were my favorite, but I was delightfully blown away by the sugar free/gluten free cheesecake (shoutout to our waitress for recommending) it was so good!! Everything was amazing.

This was the first spot to grab a bite after traveling to New Hope. A nice little restaurant that offered some delicious sandwiches to serve our vegan needs. The cheesesteak was not available so that means it must've been good wish we tried it! The Reuben and the chili hot dogs were delicious and the service was fast! The rustic set up was great! I'd recommend stopping here if you're looking for a nice vegan meal in New Hope!!

Our first time in New Hope and so glad we picked this place to eat. They are very knowledgeable about cross contamination (gluten free). My daughter really enjoyed her pasta dish with pesto sauce (she didn't get sick after eating). Our waitress (forgot her name) was so nice. My mushroom soup was delicious but too spicy for me to finish. The salad was fresh and crispy with aromatic herbs and home made dressinf. V-Spot is a wonderful vegan restaurant in New Hope Village! Will be back when in the area!

    Vegan steak and eggs

Came here for dinner a couple of times and loved the experience, so we tried Sunday brunch as well. Ordered a steak and eggs and that was really impressive. The steak tasted just like steak. Texture was spot on. Most impressive were the sunny side up eggs. I was told they were made with chickpea & soy protein. Can't look & feel more real than this. Was delicious as well. Will definitely be back to try the Eggs Benedict.

I am NOT a vegan or plant based but the food here was amazing! Highly recommend this spot

Sorry we were so hungry and I forgot to take pictures! I ordered a Blood Orange margarita, which was strong but well balanced and tasted like it was made with fresh juice--it made an excellent impression! I hate margaritas made with sweet and sour mix, and I'm pretty picky since I make my own juice mix when I make margaritas at home. I was like, "There drink game is next level." So I felt confident ordering the Strawberry Rosemary 75--but it was a big let down. It had a very chemical taste reminding me of lemon all-purpose cleaner. Usually I like gin cocktails but I didn't care for the flavor combo with this one. I hate wasting food, but I could barely take a sip without gagging. It says on the menu that it's a house favorite --and that is deceiving! Lol. The service was fantastic. Food came out in perfect timing. Our server clearly saw we were enjoying ourselves and did not rush us, and instead paced our meal well. I wish I could remember his name--but he was a lovely gentleman working 5/22. We loved the atmosphere with the plants. We would totally come back! Keep up the great work!

We first heard of this place because June's had closed down in Whitehouse and their chef started doing pop-ups here. We didn't catch one of June's popups, but wanted to try them out. We started with a burrata that came with tomato and fried potato. It was quite good and a nice light starter for the day. I also ordered a hotty toddy with it. It's a drink comprised of tea, ginger syrup, and honey. Weirdly, it was much more tart than I was anticipating, but I also couldn't put my finger on what type of tea it was... perhaps black? Anyway, my entree was the Hash Bowl. I added pork to mine to get some extra protein, and am happy to report that they did not skimp on the protein. They do charge $3 or $4 extra for the added protein, but I think it's well worth it to add a meat to the dish. Its hash brown, smothered with cheese, atop egg with tomatoes and a fried avocado. It's a very good portion, and I enjoyed it. I wanted to try the dessert, but unfortunately was much too full by the end to have room for it. Next time :)

Herein lies the five stars of Stella of New Hope which was a superb dinner for my wife and I on what was a lovely April night. This evening of early April was nice enough to warrant eating outside (albeit with the help of some heat lamps) on Stella's deck area overlooking the Delaware River. It's quite a calming view and definitely set the mood of the night. What also helped was some fabulous service as our waiter was kind, attentive, and gave a few great suggestions for the menu. After getting a couple of refreshing drinks (the wife did a margarita while I had the bourbon-based Stella Spritz) we headed down the food path. Those aforementioned menu suggestions started playing a role here as the waiter suggested the house-made bread, but told us we can get the brown pumpkin sage butter that's usually on top of said bread on the side (a fantastic idea, especially because my wife can be a little iffy with pumpkin/sage). Now it was a great thing to have that butter for dipping, but dang I wish the Delaware River was filled with it because that was some good spread! The wife even enjoyed it, and the flavors really complimented the warm, fluffy brioche type loaf that we consumed. For the main course, my wife got what can only be described as every onion ever (more on that in a sec), while I took the waiter advice one more time and got something I don't normally have, hence why I went for the house-made lobster ravioli. Wow were these tender morsels exquisitely delicious. The butter, lemon, and truffle found in the sauce added such flavorful notes. Speaking of flavors, it's onion time! My wife ordered the French onion pasta which literally lists four or five different kinds of onions in its menu description and really creates a wild punch on the palate. It was a little rich and perhaps overpowering for my wife to finish on her own (I can understand how it might be a bit heavy to attack for one person), but I helped to get her through most of the meal and I can't say I didn't love the onion life. Maybe it's not for everyone, but if you enjoy a good onion, get this. Overall, Stella of New Hope is a wonderful spot to dine at. There are great views, lovely service, delightful drinks, and some fantastic food worth experiencing. Not the cheapest meal I've ever had, but well worth every dollar spent. I can't say when I'll be back to New Hope, but it's not that far from where I live so there's always a chance I'll return. And if I do, Stella will be on my mind.
