This place had childhood memories for me foodie friends. This location has some nice aspects to it, large indoor seating and drive thru. Much larger than the Lucern location. As far as what to get, my favorite treat is a cup of vanilla ice cream with hot fudge and nuts added. We have a large family and for 8 of us, it was under $40-not bad. The eat in lobby has been closed for the past year due to covid regulations (understandable), but this time we were pulling a trailer and unable to go through drive thru. Two stars for the soft-serve ice cream. I'm not even sure why we stopped in here... Well, of course it was for the ice cream. This Fosters serves up some creamy deliciousness with it's yellow-vanilla soft serve as opposed to the plain white mixture McDonald's serves. I think the best part about this particular location was the printed 4' tall character that everyone in town and out of has posed with. I stopped in for lunch today and my order was not correct at the drive through. I asked for the missing item that was part of a bogo. The young lady tried charging me the full price because she did not know how to correct a completed order. I asked for a manager and she said she was the closest there was to one today. After camping in Clearlake twice a year for many years (since I was a kid) we finally decided to check out the Fosters Freeze we've passed by every single time we've visited. Our thing to do is get ice cream at the gas station while the tank fills up. NOT ANYMORE! Yesterday we decided to check out Foster's Freeze after filling up across the street. The drive through line was pretty long so we went inside. The place was kind of run down and it wasn't the nicest inside but what do you expect? This place has been here in Lake County for years! Fosters freeze had something for everyone in the car. My husband tried the root beer freeze, I went with the triple berry cheesecake twister, mom had a junior cone, and dad had a strawberry milkshake. Everyone enjoyed what they had. The root beer freeze was the perfect blend of root beer and ice cream blended into a freeze. We weren't sure what to expect but thought it was really good. My triple berry cheesecake twister was absolutely delicious. This sugar rush of goodness was filled with berries, lots of lemony cheesecake chunks and ice cream. I can't believe I ate the whole thing by myself. My inner piggy definitely came out! Mom's junior cone was a lot bigger than what was modeled (more is always better) and dad liked that his milkshake was actually drinkable and not too thick. Needless to say this was the perfect end to our 2 day camping trip in Clearlake and we'll be back in May for our annual memorial weekend trip. read more

When passing through in a hurry, I sometimes am forced to stop here for something quick. I have decided I would rather starve. The service is VERY slow- drive thru or walk in! I can handle that if the food and price is good.... Nope! The food is inedible. I threw my burger in the garbage after taking one bite (second trip). Mostly I am upset about the sauces. You have to pay for sauce. You have the option of ranch or bbq included with tenders, per say, but only a very limited amount. If you want any other sauce, you have to pay. The ranch was soooooo incredibly watered down that it could not be used- it was like dunking your nugget in water- very disgusting....threw it all out (the first trip). The third trip I just got an orange breeze, but again, was not worth the wait or money. I really cant believe this place is still in business. If you are going to charge me for sauce then don't rip me off by watering it down so bad that it is unusable!! This is dishonest and shows how unethical you are. The entire reason I love Chikfila is the service is always great, the food is always hot and yummy and the sauces are free and very yummy! Having yummy and free sauces is what drives people like me in. Wish Lake County would get one. So, I personally think this Foster Freeze is going about 'saving a dime' all wrong. This is a staple of lake county. With a location in lower lake and nice, half of lake county has memories of summer stops to the foster freeze for soft serve. They serve all kinds of fried foods which are all tasty. The ice cream puts them on the map though. While they serve all the same menu items as its sister location, they are separately owned and operated. So youll find the same great food but small differences. The service is not as good as in Nice. The location and building itself are more rundown but lower lakes is slightly bigger and offers a drive through. Still 2 dollar dipped cones on Tuesday!! While we dont stop in as often as we do in Nice is still nice to have two locations. Definitely stop in and try a twister!! They are delicious and you will not be dissapointed. I haven't seen a Fosters Freeze in awhile and coming through this little town one evening a milkshake sounded good. I parked and went inside thinking I should eat something too. This is a pretty run down location that has not been shown any love recently. The menu boards are small and they do have a lot of choices but they are not really easy to find on the menu since there are several hand written ones off on the side etc with other items. I made a comment about the menu being small and hard to read from so far away and the girl said they were supposed to be getting new menu boards. I opted for a chocolate chip milk shake and ordered the fish and chips. The fish and chips weren't too bad for a fast food place and the milkshake wasn't as thick as I would like but it was good nonetheless. The seating area was well worn and the place just needs a overhaul and a good cleaning. I would recommend going through the drive thru its probably easier to see the menu and you can avoid seeing "too much" inside. read more
