I never thought I'd review a liquor store, but here I am... A month or 2 ago I was on my way to a friends house and needed to grab a 6-pack and didn't feel like dealing with going to Fry's. I live nearby and have passed this place daily for the last 2 year but had never stepped inside. There was plenty of selection and the prices were decent. The staff is friendly and always good for a laugh. Since then Greenway Liquor has become my go-to place for my alcoholic needs, and I will be coming back again and again. read more

This place is a bunch of scammers $55 a case of Busch light apple is what they charge and they told me they couldn't tell me the price over the phone and I heard them talking abt it in there language that I speak too so I would drive down there and be forced to buy it because I was already there. On the evening of 09/28 at approximately 8 pm, I visited a local retailer (Greenway Liquor, Phoenix, AZ) to make a purchase. The item I purchased was marked for sell at $4.99. When the proprietor rang-up the item, the purchased totaled $5.71. With a local sales tax of only only 8.6%, I ask the proprietor how did that single item total $5.71. He indicated sales tax and a $0.25 fee for use of bank card. As an informed consumer, I understand that applying a fee to a transaction for the use of a debit card is in fact illegal. I explained this to the proprietor who became belligerent and responded by suggesting that I avoid the circumstance by paying cash next time. Not only did the proprietor improperly apply a fee for the use of a debit card, he also overcharge the sales tax. The city of Phoenix (Arizona) requires a 8.6% sales charge on general retail purchases. The proprietor actually charged 9.5%. I have had a similar experience before with this retailer but this time I chose to call out the unscrupulous behavior. After reading google reviews on this retailer, I became aware that my experience was not an isolated incident. Customers have noted in multiple reviews of the retailer inappropriately charging (i.e., fees) and overcharging (e.g., sales tax). read more

I bought a bottle of Tito's from here and it kinda spilled in my car on the way home mind you it was unopened and when I got home I fully opened it and it smelled like watered down vodka.... Whether you are walking in or driving thru, older gentleman behind the counter openly says negative comments about his paying customers. They rarely card for I.d., yet make you wait to buy stuff, willing to let you waste your time and their time! Owner refers to drive thru customers as lazy in ac cars sitting on their asses! I stop by this liquor store from time to time - the guys behind the counter spend a majority of the time talking amongst themselves and ignoring customers. In the last year they started putting there allocated bourbons in a glass case - at 7-8 times retail. Most of the bottles are hundreds over secondary pricing. The fact that they are covered in dust shows their greed and disregard for their customers. I would give this place no stars if I could. read more

Went in to buy one item. In an aisle, one old man who was working there kept calling a woman who was asking him for money for gas a slut and a bitch, loudly and repeatedly. This went on the whole time I was there. Upon paying I asked the three younger guys behind the counter what his problem was. They laughed and said "it's okay, he knows her". I told them it was not an excuse and it is probably bad for business. I left quite upset as I am not used to being around women being verbally abused. I love this little drive through store. We usually just go to get a Dr. Pepper for my teenager, but as soon as they see my car in line, they get it ready for us. That makes it a fast and efficient stop for us. Staff is always friendly and you get service with a smile! read more

Extremely disrespectful and rude! The staff was putting together some cardboard promo almost hit me with the box looked at me and failed to say excuse me or sorry till I addressed it. Was it because I am a woman? Or because I am black? So there is a chance they can be racist, sexist, poorly raised or maybe all of the above. Over priced! I normally go here but after the experience I just had I will go elsewhere no matter what. I bought a keg for $80 when everyone else wanted $58. Plus $35 deposit I was told I would get back after I bring the keg back. I was never asked to fill any paper work out and they kept my receipt since it was special ordered but paid all up front. When I went to bring it back today 3 weeks later they wouldn't take it and give me my money back. Told me normally 2 days but I have a kegerator and can't drink that much beer by myself in 2 days. Told me they can't return it to the company because it was to long. But bring it in next time and no deposit. Lies! Just money hungry. I'll be buying else where from now on. read more

Over the last twenty years or so, I've come to Greenway Liquor to get the drinks for any major event that my family has hosted, or I've gone to even if driving to them was out of my way. I used them because of their customer service and product selection. Over the years I've referred friends and family to them, However, the last several visits have swayed my opinion of the store. The rude clerk behind the counter who gives off attitude when asking for him to do what he's payed for and gives a discussed look at a paying customer, then just puts the merchandise on the counter to the drive up window and clears his throat as his acknowledgment that my order is ready, is not appropriate customer service. This is a reoccurring event from this person and he's causing a loyal customer of almost twenty years to take her business elsewhere. I'm not the only person that has had this issue with the lack of customer service. It's a shame because the store used to be about quality service, not what it's become. read more
