    Spicy Diavola

Before diving into my concern, I want to preface my experience by sharing that the pizza, specifically the spicy diavola was flavorful. Additionally, ordered two Wendy's Caesars salads. The ambiance was nice and the service was good. I want to focus on the salads. As said, we ordered two of them and ate about half of each. Combined the leftovers in a container and took the rest home. Now this is the hard part to believe. As I was finishing my leftovers today, I found a metal object in my salad. It looks like a bolt and the metal coating easily rubs off. I didn't see anything on the container when we were given it so we suspect that it may have been in the salad. Thankfully we saw it but definitely was a freak situation.

MUST TRY! This place is amazing! a portion of all pizza sales goes towards the animal shelter right next to them! The happy hour lunch special is an insane deal for the quality of the pizza. I'm a big pizza guy and i respect a good slice and let me tell you, this place is now one of my favorite pizza spots in the entire phx metropolitan! Special shoutout to our server Alexis! he was amazing!

Honestly love the mission behind this place to provide dogs an opportunity to get adopted. Plus, I missed the opportunity to go here during happy hour to get a better deal. I ordered some food to hold me over while I waited for my to-go order. The garlic bread with parmesan was generous and tasty, but honestly, paying four dollars for sprinkled garlic and cheese is overkill. The Margherita Pizza and the Funghi Formaggi Pizza were mid. There were hardly any mushrooms on the Funghi Pizza, and the Margherita Pizza was just blah. The Penne Alla Vodka pasta helped, but overall, the price of these pizzas did not match the quality or flavor we were expecting.

Wow! Loved the vibe, the calm ambiance, the pizza and of course the cause! Our waitress was amazing, the spicy diavola and the Margherita were great. Arugula and potato salad meh..but the Paw-zookie :) Add to your next stop!

We definitely had a mixed experience at our dinner. We had set a reservation before coming and were sat right away. However it seemed they never told anyone we were sat so we waited over 30 minutes for someone to greet us. Once a waitress did come over for our order, we very rarely saw her throughout the meal. The food was good. Wood fired pizza is the best kind and they do a good job. We came at 6pm on purpose to see puppies and were bummed that there is only one dog at a time because so many people wanted to hold the one baby that we never got a chance. They were very kind to give us a cheesecake for how long we waited. We were all a bit thrown off that they put olive oil all over the cheesecake. We weren't fans but may be a vibe for someone else.

Best happy hour in Phoenix especially in this economy? I believe it's everyday from 2-5pm. The happy hour menu includes 10 pizzas, $10 Ceasars salad, $10 calzone, and $10 pasta! Got the $10 pepperoni pizza and it was so good and shareable along with the vodka sauce pasta. Both were really good. Pro tip order the hot honey for the pepperoni pizza. It's honestly deals and they also bring out puppies that you can adopt. Even better proceeds from the restaurant go to their animal rescue!

Went here for Valentine's Day, showed up 7:30ish with no reservation. We sat at the bar and ordered a drink and about 20 minutes later got a seat! It was starting to die down a little by then. We tried the prefixe menu, one appetizer the meatballs, two entrees the chorizo pizza and wild mushroom risotto, and one dessert the basque cheesecake for $60 per couple, pretty nice! The app was for my boyfriend since I don't eat red meat or gluten. He enjoyed it! Pretty large portion. I loved my mushroom risotto, so creamy and rich and cheesy but not heavy. The olive oil on and around it added deep complexity and buttery-ness that was addicting. The mushrooms looked different than in other Yelp pictures and I would've liked the other mushrooms better I think. These were more meaty and thick and the texture can be off for me, but that's a personal preference. I cut up the mushrooms and it added nice umami flavor. Some added protein would've been good, it was already $24. I didn't finish it though, saved room for dessert. Overall a top risotto I've ever had. My boyfriend's pizza was way too spicy for him lol. He said his lips were burning, he can't do spice and didn't realize it would be that spicy. He ate 1.5 slices then asked if he could get the margherita instead and they made him a new pizza it was very nice! He simply couldn't eat it so we really appreciated it. He liked the new pizza and we love how it's made in a wood fired oven! I'll come back to try the gluten free pizza since it's a homemade crust and they have a separate oven for it! The cheesecake had a fruity orange taste to it? Maybe it was the mesquite honey. Wasn't expecting that! The olive oil contrasted nicely with the honey and cheesecake though, and I love the gluten free option. I love cheesecake and enjoyed it! My boyfriend likes just cheesecake no extra flavors but happily still ate half. Great service, super nice! Food comes out fast. Elevated atmosphere with the pizza oven in the front! Cute place

Was seeing this place all over my Instagram and had to come out and try it for myself. What could be better than pizza and puppies?!? We ordered the Margherita Pizza w/extra sauce, this was truly our favorite, the pizza was delicious and a great size. We also ordered the spicy rigatoni the presentation was beautiful however I do feel this lacked some flavor. To finish we ordered their version of the pizookie, we both feel that it wasn't the best, it wasn't the ooey gooey cookie we were hoping for but not bad either. Service was great it was busy but our server did a great job handling both tables inside and on the patio. And their mission is so wonderful, we loved getting to seeing the cutest adoptable puppies and we even stopped at their rescue after also. Will definitely be back to enjoy some more pizza and get all the puppy snuggles.

Puppies, pizza and pasta?? What more could you ask for? As a rescue mom this place makes my heart so happy and full. The pizza was amazing, and the pasta was to die for. We had the spicy rigatoni and a few different pizzas, all of which really exceeded expectations. The Diet Coke is also CRISPY. So good. Meatballs were insanely good as well. They deserve their own paragraph. Finally, the service was great. Our server was so kind and knowledgeable and checked on us often. He made the experience great!

What could be better than eating pizza with dogs for a good cause?! This heartwarming establishment donates some of their pizza sales to the dog shelter nearby and has a dog friendly patio. The inside consists of a nice bar with a large TV and a wood fired oven in the corner. The wood fired thin crust pizza was exceptional and many had unique flavor combinations that worked well. The meatballs were good, but I would recommend trying another pizza instead. We didn't try the pasta, but it looked delicious and I will definitely be back to try. The staff were all extremely friendly and accommodated to our odd party size. Overall, a lovely place with great vibes and great food.

Love this restaurant's whole concept of how if you order a pizza - it helps the dog rescue! The Cacio e Pepe was really good. As was the dessert. Had the mushroom pizza, it was good. Not the best pizza but it'll do. Just a bit doughy and burnt in some spots. Service was friendly. Though, be ready for a wait if you didn't make reservations. We thankfully got a spot at the bar. Also, parking lot fills up fast so consider parking on the side streets!

The happy hour is a great deal, but the food is really nothing special. Skip the pasta and take advantage of the decent $10 wood-fired pizzas.

Recently came here and was pleasantly surprised at the delicious thin crust, full of flavor pizza. Also, tried Basque cheesecake which was heavenly! One of the best ones I've ever had. Love that they contribute a part of pizza proceeds to the rescue. It is an inviting space with a large patio and a friendly service. We would definitely be back.

An extra treat was that they have bottles of spicy oil on the tables, so I was able to enjoy the crusts by slathering them with the tasty oil as though they were breadsticks. On the way out, after mentioning to the bartender how good the oil was, I was gifted a couple of condiment cuplets to-go, which was a thoughtful and nice touch and sort of made up for the server who wasn't particularly warm or informative as I had to ask about the specials and whether or not all the pasta is freshly made, etc. Heck, if you have a great selling point like homemade pasta, talk it up and get us to drooling! There is a variety of seating available, including outside and at the bar--bar has an inside section as well as outside which is a nice design for the lovely weather days. However, it's unfortunate that the outdoor seating is on such a busy traffic corner, so it's not the little retreat it would otherwise be. The lunchtime music was more like happy hour music, not conducive to conversation--maybe for the cellphones-at-the -table crowd it's okay, but being near the Phoenix Art Museum and Arizona Opera, why not add to the cultural experience of the area by celebrating its Italian origins with some Italian music? Even if just added as interludes during every few pieces, it would enhance the ambiance. We had to raise our voices to carry on our conversation, but it was manageable. However, when I came back the next week with a friend with a hearing impairment, it became more problematic. She tried adjusting her hearing aids, but the thumping rhythm kept taking precedence as we tried to find a quieter corner, but it wasn't possible as it is a small space and speakers were close to each table. I felt so bad that she couldn't enjoy a meal there--we both were so looking forward to having a fresh pasta dish, but just couldn't stay. Upon leaving, I felt I should let management know why so I waited to speak to him, offering constructive criticism about the sound level but he was not the least apologetic nor said he would take it under advisement, but was completely dismissive and harrumphy as though we were annoying problems and not potential regulars with suggestions worthy of consideration. How hard would it be to have a quieter area or make a speaker accessible with volume control? People, whether on the spectrum, with hearing impairments, or just lovers of good conversation deserve respect and when it is not given, will go elsewhere....
