Our cat, Misty Blue, was brought into the clinic from animal control. She was only weeks old with hind swimmers legs and left on the side of the road. They cared for her and we brought her home. Her legs became stronger as she grew, so strong that she would jump from one room to another. She was the best pet! She was followed by them every year until she passed away. read more

We just moved into the area and my lovely Belgian Tervuren was welcomed by their Vets and staff with open arms. Everyone from the desk to the techs were kind and helpful. My cat has been a patient here for the past couple of years and I (we?) have been very pleased with our experience since the beginning. I adopted my first furry friend mid-COVID and was a little worried about finding a veterinary clinic that was accepting new patients but I called, they were very up-front about their availability, and I was able to secure an appointment within a reasonable time frame. In the beginning, only pets were allowed inside the clinic but as a new owner, the staff were always very reassuring and informative. Of late, I have been able to accompany my cat in for his appointments. I like being able to wait in the comfort of my own car until the clinic staff are ready for us. Everyone I have encountered has been very kind and helpful. We are always in and out in no time. I receive timely phone calls to follow up on test results. Happy to have found this location so close to home. read more

I took my dogs here for years, even though the bedside manner of the vet is seriously lacking. The last draw for me was the last visit a year ago the vet did bloodwork because my dog's appetite had significantly decreased, reprimanded me for waiting so long to bring her in, did blood work, sent my dog to the hospital for an ultrasound and to be admitted overnight, quoted at least $3,000 baseline for the hospital, saying my dog couldn't get an ultrasound without being admitted. Anyways, after going to ocean state, the vet there didn't believe the bloodwork, asked to redo it, stating that if the levels were as high as Tiogue's bloodwork said there would be jaundice somewhere. Redid bloodwork, everything was normal, and my dog was given some anti nausea meds. The hospital vet wasn't sure why my dog's appetite decreased, might be a stomach bug. Said if she didn't improve or if I decided later I wanted an ultrasound, I can come in and get an ultrasound anytime. And the bill for hospital visit, bloodwork and medication was the SAME amount as a sick visit with bloodwork at Tiogue! And the vet at ocean state was kinder, more patient and informative. The young and rude new employees are not only rude but unprofessional. I was a client for 30 years. We had two texts from them verifying our appointments today. They proceeded to tell us that we missed the appointment in spite of what the texts said. After being a client for 30 years they told us we were rude. I was annoyed but I never swore or raised my voice. After our brief conversation I called back. I told them who I was and they got the office manager. When I tried to talk she said "let me speak. She reiterated I was rude, no longer a client, and the were going to contact every veterinarian not to take me as a client. They also said they were going to call the police. I laughed at this because, even if I was rude, I didn't realize this was a reason to call law enforcement. I'm am in my fifties and this is the first review I've ever written in my life! read more

Very expensive, one of the office people is very rude. Theres one vet who talks down to you like you're stupid. Today I made an appointment and said I didn't want this particular vet and the lady in the office told me to go elsewhere. So I did. I highly recommend Coventry Animal Hospital. read more

20+ years of coming to this clinic and I CANT BELIEVE the lack of empathy. While on the way to our vet appointment this morning, our dog slipped and fell when entering our vehicle. Which caused us to run about 15 minutes late due to our dog now having an injury. When we arrived with our limping dog, we were turned away at the door with a very rude and unapologetic attitude. To now have to turn around and put our limping dog back into the car and drive home was devastating. What are we suppose to do? Call them when we get home to schedule a sick visit at x2 the cost? I run a very tight schedule in my line of work, so I understand keeping to the books. However, when a loyal customer who has brought tons of business through your doors is in need of assistance you help them. We're so disappointed with the lack of care and empathy towards our family. The actions of this clinic caused great distress on our entire family today. After 20+ years of business here, I would NEVER EVER send anyone here. read more

I don't like to give negative reviews but the fact that this one has such a high rating makes me want to give the truth. They do not keep up with technology, I was blown away when I came to this archaic office but only came because its where my husband already took my pets. We never had good experiences and it seemed they would rather kill ("euthanize") an animal than fix their problem. I took my cat when an issue this vet diagnosed was not getting better but rather than investigating the problem them they decided to end his life with a legally mandated rabies vaccine. Don't vets take the Hypocratic oath? They also refused to help our dog with the issue we repeatedly brought him for, thankfully we switched vets and he was treated properly and lived a long life). Overall highly don't recommend. read more

Dr. Z and Dr. Burbank are my go-to's. Unfortunately some of the other vets are not as effective as these two, and honestly have resulted in me having to back for followups that might not have been otherwise necessary. The office staff is great, and they all truly have a love for animals. The vet techs are also friendly, helpful, and full of love for the animals that come in. The office hours are very flexible, and I rarely run into issues trying to make an appointment. Even when I am scrambling to get my pup in because of a vaccine due date, the staff is always able to accommodate. Price wise, I find Tiogue to be on par with most other vets - the biggest selling point for me personally is the location. Coupled with the mostly stellar service we receive, it's hard to justify ever going elsewhere. read more

I had switched to this vet years ago and have never been disappointed. Their hours are great for anyone working your typical 9-5 shift and I have never had an issue getting a same day appointment. The staff is always friendly and willing to help. They just redid the seating area, it is amazing how they keep it so clean throughout the day. There are numerous rooms and they are good about getting you in a room quickly so as to not have to wait in the area with other pets. The vets themselves have been very open about various options so as not to pigeon hole you into the most expensive treatments. They thoroughly explain this to you so you feel comfortable that you are making the right decision. read more

My dog's toe was very swollen and he was limping. My regular vet was already closed and I really didn't have the money to take him to the 24 hour vet clinic. Tiogue was still open and nearby so I called to see if they would look at him before they closed. Everyone from the receptionist to the vet techs and the doctor were very friendly, welcoming, and caring. They gave my dog some antibiotics and anti inflammatories and said to call them or our regular vet if it didn't get better. They were honest and up front about courses of treatment and options and what could be wrong with him. A couple days later they called to see how he was. The prices were reasonable and I cannot recommend them enough. I am so grateful they were able to see my dog even though he wasn't a "regular" patient. Thank you so much! read more

I moved to Rhode Island 4 years ago and needed to switch vets for my cat and dog and they were recommended. They where great at first for the first year and a half and things went down hill after that, They don't give 2 craps about you or the animals it's all about the money now that's it. If you have an emergency it's all about there convince because they always seem to be short and have a dr on vacation and only 1 dr working. My cat was deathly sick and had to be put to sleep he was having a hard time breathing and was 18 years old. I called them they told me they are short handed can't help me call back first thing tomorrow and hope for the best. Luckily Warwick Animal Hospital could get him in right away and understood his distress. I just had an issue with my 14 year old Westie having non stop seizures and throwing up and back legs giving out. Once again we have no appointments and only 1 dr on the other is on vacation. Seriously do the drs really work there? Just watch him and call, us first thing tomorrow to see if we have a cancelation. WHAT? REALLY DO YOU CARE IF THIS DOG DIES? I was able to get him in Ocean State Vet immediately because he was critical but Tiogue didn't give a crap. Thankfully he is on the mend.NO I DO NOT RECOMEND THEM STAY FAR AWAY!!!!! read more

I have brought my 2 dogs here (Silky Terrier and Maltese) for a couple of years now, after moving to the area. Personally, I find Doctor Zahora to be the most helpful and knowledgable out of all the vet's. In working with Dr. Turcotte and Dr. Tobiasz, my dogs ear infection was not healing. After 3 visits my Maltese's ear infection was not going away, so I requested a different doctor. After I saw Dr. Zahora, whom finally diagnosed it correctly, my dogs ear infection finally healed. I only see him now, as I do not find it acceptable to have to pay for multiple visits just because the vet can't diagnose something properly during the first one or two visits. The receptionists at the front desk are very nice and helpful. read more

Went to Tiogue Vet for for my kitten to get vaccines. The staff administered the wrong vaccine which was meant for a dog. Obviously I was upset and the staff stated that they needed to keep my kitten for the day for observation. The doctor was professional but the staff didn't seem to be reassuring and did not make me feel comfortable after a mistake that should not of happened. After picking up my kitten later in the day, the vet then went ahead and charged me $38 for the visit after having to worry all morning if my kitten was harmed by their mistake. I'm sure their are better vets out there who pay better attention to detail. read more

I am glad we decided to go to this clinic. My daughter referred me because of wonderful caring staff. My fur baby has been here for all his well visits for 10 months now. We have been taking our pets here almost since Dr. Z opened many years ago and would not think about going anywhere else! The care our pets (and us in difficult situations) has been superb. They refer to specialists if that is best for your pet and never fail to keep in touch to see how they are doing. We have Greyhounds (which are a different breed and require specific knowledge) and have always felt that our Vet had done the extra research to insure their health. I've been going to Tiogue Vet since 1986 and they are the best! Started with Dr. Z and Dr. B...they have gone way out of their way to treat my dogs. One time Dr. Z just took my dog and went into surgery immediately to remove a corn cob stuck in his intestines. He saved the dog's life, a beautiful 2 year-old Yellow Lab. The staff, what can I say: Debbie, Michelle, Julie and others are wonderful. I would never choose another vet and they are only 2 miles from my house. Five stars. read more

I have been a client with them for almost a year now.. From the first day I walked in I felt welcomed. Whenever I come in they greet me by name before I can even say who I am. I recently adopted a new fur baby and Dr White and staff have been fantastic in working with us to get all of her needs met. I have never been to a vets office where they actually sit on the floor to pet and engage with my dogs before going about their jobs. Everyone is extremely friendly and caring. What I love the most is I feel like Dr White really has my dogs best interest at heart. They are not out for a quick buck. She will talk with me a great lengths about treatments for my 4 year old who has had his fair share of medical issues. She always returns my phone calls in a very timely manner and when he needed a surgery that needed to be completed at Ocean State due to the nature she called me once a week until he was completely healed to check in on him even though she was not treating him through recovery. I know I am late writing this review( I usually don't write reviews) but when I see good reviews for dr April White I just cringe....I had gone to this vet for 30 years when Dr. Zahora was practicing who was very pet friendly and seemed to know about everything....when my 15 year old sheltie had a very bad ear infection and not expected to live Dr, Z brought him through it and my dog lived just short of 18 years after Dr.z retired the staff made my next appointment with Dr. White....I found her very unfriendly after examining one of my dogs she said she had kidney issues ( my dog was 4yrs ) and not to expect her to live many more years....who tells a person that about their beloved pet ( this dog passed her 8th birthday in August and has fun chasing her 11 year old pal around the yard) after that I started going to Dr. Ader in Warwick who is old school ( think of the old vets that treated every animal) and I would recommend her to anyone read more

Brought my cat here for routine shots, vet was good but vet tech was a little rough and cat did not like him. Had to bring cat in for a mild abrasion and while shaving the area (on her chin) the vet shaved off her whiskers as well. When I expressed my concern she stated that it was an accident (the cat was not moving at the time) and that kitties whiskers would grow back in 2 weeks. Its been well over a month and they have not grown back, nor do I think they will. After the whisker shaving, I was hurried out of the office with some meds. Thankfully Kitty is fine now with the exception of having only a few whiskers on one side (the rest are just stubs). On a brighter note, the office staff is great. read more
