I recently bought a used washing machine from Robert Tylisz Appliances in La Porte on SR-2 to replace my old one that had started leaking. Since my house is on the market, I wanted to leave reliable appliances for the new owners--ones that didn't cause any trouble. To my disappointment, the replacement washing machine wasn't quite what I expected. After it was delivered, I discovered that it too was leaking water onto my basement floor. What a mess! Feeling panicked and desperate, I immediately called the store and left a message with one of the employees. The next day, I spoke with Maureen, who instantly put me at ease. She assured me that the company would make things right--and she meant it. When the delivery team arrived with a replacement machine, the two gentlemen spent the first ten minutes apologizing on behalf of Tylisz Appliance, which I found very honorable. They installed my upgraded used washer, apologized once more before leaving, and made sure everything was in working order. The following day, Maureen called to confirm that I was satisfied and that everything was running smoothly--which it was. A few hours later, I received a knock on my door and was surprised to find someone delivering a thoughtful gift from Robert Tylisz Appliance. This experience reminded me that exceptional customer service still exists. Robert Tylisz Appliance went above and beyond to make things right. A part was ordered (I have an old stove), it was in the next day, but when the box was opened, it was the item wanted but the igniter was on the opposite side with no way to fix it. Joe W., the technician, made phone calls and went out of his way to get the correct part so I would not have to wait 8-days for a part to be shipped from across the country. When I filed for services, Sears Appliance responded immediately with an appointment that was very timely - my oven control panel was going out. However, the appointment was soon rescheduled as a part needed to be ordered. The second appointment I stayed home (8-4) and no call, no show - I rescheduled. 3rd appointment good with notice of in transit (after I called to ask) but overall took about 3 weeks to fix oven. Aside from long time to fix - and the no-show, no-call appointment, I would've rated MUCH higher.
