We were thrilled with our visit from the moment we enter the lobby. As we entered Diana and Mike greeted us with a smile and we chatted for quite some time. They are the retired parents of the owner and began managing the lodge a month ago. The lobby itself was very charming and rustic looking just as we had hoped. It was festively decorated with the Christmas theme and the natural log looking banisters and the cozy blazing fireplace set the tone for the weekend with our first step into the lobby. Our bedroom was huge, and everything was sparkling clean. We had a king bed and the bed frame itself was also made of natural looking wood logs. It also had a huge picture window to watch the snow falling outside. We did not get a room with a fireplace but there are several available. The lodge has a couple outside decks for entertaining when the weather is nice, and it gives a great view of the valley below and the mountains in the distance. My wife and I spent a wonderful evening lounging in the lobby and playing cards in front of the fireplace. The next morning, we woke up to a complimentary breakfast prepared by Diana and Mike that included eggs, potatoes, waffles, sausage, coffee, OJ and more. Diana even topped it off with a homemade muffin for my wife's birthday. It was a perfect weekend!!! read more

We just left the Greer Peaks Lodge. We booked at the last minute for the holiday weekend due to the sometimes crazy schedule of my career. I can honestly say, we won't book here again, NOR will we recommend to anyone who plans on visiting this great little village. We don't mind paying the 'holiday premium' when the place we pay for 'delivers'. Unfortunately, this place did not. It's as if one checks in here and the managers or owners ? , check out after fully billing you upon check in. We checked in and were told the wifi would need to be reset as it was 'slow' when a lot of people try to connect. How many people are truly in Greer? We get it; we are in the mountains and it wasn't truly a big deal. It never worked. NOT even a little. Again, not a big deal. Our room was upstairs: upon entering it leaves a LOT to be desired. The carpet needs a good cleaning , in fact, much of the room does. The water in the sink constantly shot air while using and had low pressure. The toilet does the same with the air thing and you must hold the handle down when flushing. That can be alarming in the middle of the night. The sheets on one bed were stained and I thought about calling down to request new ones , OH! But there is no phone in the room. That makes the , ' In Room Dining Menu' a little confusing too, now doesn't it? There was a nice wad of chewed up gum to welcome my husband on his side of the bed on the headboard. My daughters bed had a terribly stained blanket, but with a hot, stuffy room, there would be no need for that. There are no drapes on the windows and the blinds are in need of revamping, so guess what.. sleep will end about 0600am. That's also the time when a flock of parent-less children will apparently be allowed to run up and down the halls and stairs of the lodge screaming and hitting the walls. There is no air conditioner either. The room was super warm when we got into it , so we opened the two windows; one in the bedroom area and one in the bathroom. I get it, it's the mountains, it was downright miserable without ac. It was uncomfortable and stuffy even in the middle of the night when it cooled off outside, this room just never ventilated well. We were up and out of the room by 0945a the next morning to hike and explore the area in Greer. The 'free breakfast' was no where to be found. No coffee was found either. We only saw the mess of it all in the breakfast room. even a toasted bagel on the floor. The complimentary bottled waters were all gone; the fruit that was mentioned was too, and only the same empty plate in the bottled water refrigerator remained from the night before, AND the water dispenser was also empty. There was NO one to be found and the girl that checked us in the day prior had told us 'IF we needed anything, that they lived on property and just let them know'. You just could never find them! We came back that evening and our room had not been cleaned or made up. No clean towels & no trash emptied. My husband said he had seen maids on his way to find the 'mystery breakfast and coffee' , so he knows they were cleaning other guests rooms. We had no DO NOT DISTURB sign on door either. We would understand if this was a cabin as we have stayed in those before and they don't always have daily service.. well, as I was reading thru the small flyer in the room, you have to place the SERVICE sign on door NLT 1000am for your room to be cleaned. That would have been nice to have been mentioned at check in. I've never seen anything like that, and I travel a lot. The place in general has so much potential. It's actually a lovely looking log cabin looking lodge. The area surrounding the lodge is beautiful, but seriously, no one seems to care. The rooms here look more like a road side motel with a price tag of 'we can gouge you and we will' than the rustic lodge cabin you enter. People would leave messes out on the decks and on the common tables in the living areas downstairs and no one seemed to care about cleaning up after that. We also were amused that we came in about 2145pm on our last night after dinner and the girl who checked us in was finally 'on property' as we were coming up the stairs to our room to literally raise her eyebrows at us rather than say hello or welcome us or anything. NOT a word! We were not sure what that was about. Very 'boarding house, den mother' attitude of her though and I was personally not amused . This is a lodge.. treat it and your guests as such. Let's discuss the hotvtub that had that awful smell of mildew as soon as it was opened.. no thanks. Maybe this is why there were rooms here available and not at the cute, MUCH, cheaper, nicer cabins our friends had. Word to all.. ( we knew this already!), plan ahead for this area and avoid this place unless you don't think sleep is important! I need a shower after a stay here. Two stars for the view & rickety deck read more

This place felt more like home than anything else. The owner Ryan worked very hard to accommodate the guests and keep them happy. Our room was very comfortable and had everything we needed including a fridge, microwave, blow dryer, etc etc. it was clean and looked newly renovated. There is a complimentary hot breakfast available each morning that was really good. There are hot tubs, fire pits and plenty of deck space to enjoy the outdoors. The property is very big with a nice grassy shaded area that has a hammock, horse shoe pits, volley ball net, and amazing views. The downstairs of the lodge has a huge game area with arcade games, pool table, air hockey, fooseball table, basketball game, video games, ping pong etc. there is also a nice fitness room, sauna, showers and massage rooms. There are also canoes and kayaks available at the lodge to use at the nearby lake. The inside of the lodge was very nice with a huge living room/lobby, fireplace, flat screen tv and complimentary waters, hot chocolate and fruit. We plan this trip for months and we're so excited to go stay and Greer with our family and friends upon our arrival we noticed we were the only guess they had which was fine but the management was nowhere to be found the entire stay all the amenities promised we're not working the heaters on the porch didn't even have propane tanks the Jacuzzi did not work but we were going to make the best of it the lodge was fairly clean but as I was looking for a downstairs bathroom I stumbled into the kitchen and it was disgusting there was food on the counters and the trash cans were fully loaded there was trash everywhere in this kitchen I was absolutely shocked to see the filth the management was very unfriendly I think they need to find a new type of employment we love the town of Greer but we will not stay at Greer Peaks again read more

My husband and I have stayed at Greer Peaks - formerly Amberian Peaks - several times. The current stay was disappointing. When we arrived we spent some time looking for someone to check us in. After a few minutes my husband found a note by the phone on the front desk saying that we needed to call for assistance. That set the tone for the entire visit. No one there to take care of things, no regular cleaning, no one seemed to care. The breakfast was grim. A waffle station where all the batter was gone by 8:30. I'm not sure there were more than 6 guests staying there at the time. How do you run out of batter that soon? There was dry cereal, yogurt, and a couple of bagels available as well as coffee and juice. There was evidence that there had been fruit, but not much. As a diabetic my options were very limited. The room we stayed in was clean enough, but the fabrics were getting shabby. Pilling and pulled threads made the room look worn and tired. One night while we were there it began to rain quite hard. We were in the lobby and we had seen the one other couple that we knew was staying there go up to their room. Most of the windows in the lobby and dining room had been open all day. Since no one else was around, my husband and I started closing windows to keep the rain out. Someone who said he was the owner's brother showed up as we finished closing up. He closed the one remaining window and when he started for the others, I told him that I had already closed them. No thanks, no acknowledgement, He just sort of grunted and started to leave the room. I asked if he worked there and that's when he said he was the owner's brother. The room was never serviced while we were there, but as we live pretty cleanly it wasn't a problem. Oh, and the restaurant isn't operating any more. It's too bad as the food was good under the former owners. I can see where the current operation doesn't have the staff to run a restaurant. They barely run a motel. While we love the view from the deck (deferred maintenance was showing badly). We will try another place the next time we stay in Greer. read more

We just welcomed in 2018 at the Greer Peak Lodge and it was wonderful. We have been coming to Greer for years and this is our favorite B&B due to their hospitality Husband and wife owners Ryan and Amy treated us like extended family for our 4 night stay. They reside in the main building with their young children and were available for any questions from the front desk or the front desk phone. Breakfast was very nice and if you have special needs or requests they seemed very accommodating. One evening we were all exhausted from a busy day and the owners served us a yummy hot pizza which really hit the spot. After the pizza we hit the hot tub followed by the sauna. There's nothing like a nice soak in a hot tub in freezing temps under the stars followed by a sauna to ease the aches of a long day of play. After 1 night of this routine we were hooked and continued the ritual each night of our stay. On the lower level they have a game room as well as an exercise room which we enjoyed too. TIP - If you have a small group ask them about the deer/elk special as we spotted 20 deer and upwards of 40 elk on a wild ride we'll always treasure. read more

The best place to stay in the white mountains. Upon check-in Ryan helped us to our room, built us a fire, put out marshmallows and graham crackers, and started the jacuzzi for us. It was the best customer service I have ever recieved at any hotel. We will defiantly be going back. read more

We rented out the entire Resort for 2 days. The accommodations, food and service were excellent! Nestled in a beautiful setting with breathtaking views this resort is a great place to relax and unwind and get in touch with nature. We were there in November and winter sports abound but the summer must be equally beautiful with hiking trails and nearby lakes. It truly is spectacular. Ryan, the owner, and his family made us feel welcome from the moment we came and continued to take care of our every need the entire stay. The atmosphere is at both homey and spa like.
