Restaurant horrible and overpriced for what was served. I drove an hour to arrive at 5:00 pm dinner which is when they open for dinner. I was told it would be a half hour wait. I hour and 15 minutes later they finally seated myself and my daughter. My prime rib was way under cooked. The hamburger was way under cooked. The bread was served not warm and the butter was not chilled. The mashed potatoes had no flavor. The slice of pie with ice cream tasted generic and way over priced for what was served. We loved the whole experience. The rooms were fantastic completely remodeled and cozy. The bar was so fun and welcoming, the restaurant was delicious. My husband had the burger he said it was the best burger he ever had. The restaurant the rest us had the filet. So delicious comes with soup or salad, baked potato, mashed potatoes, fries delicious. It was a good overall experience. You know you're kind of limited with choices but we didn't have any like big issues. We went twice for dinner during our week stay. One night with reservation and another we walked in, waited about 5-10 mins each time to get seated and or even approached. We meandered to the bar and just waited till it was our time. Food was on point. Of course I got the prime rib, don't even remember what my wife got cause we actually went like a month ago as of me writing this.... Anyway, the RANCH was fricken great. Wasn't that thick commercial ranch, home made and great. Drinks were great, view out on the patio was great. It was good. We have been here a few times now and are staying in one of there rooms for a week or our 20th wedding anniversary, me and my wife love this place, the food and the staff are amazing, a true small town feel where everyone one knows everyone. We take the 4 and a half hour driver here every chance we get and will continue to do so. read more

We went for Mothers Day and my husband ordered Eggs Benedict. English muffin on bottom not toasted, just out of the package. Egg was almost hardboilded. Ham was like lunch meat. Potatoes on the side cold. 5 stars for ambiance and waitress. 1 star for food. I had quiche... store bought crust, you'd think for $14 you could get homemade crust, top was hard from cheese baking on top. We had the pleasure of dining at this quaint, rustic, and fun restaurant this past Labor Day weekend. There were 16 of us and we were able to get a reservation. Let me just say, the food was good and the hospitality from Sandy and her staff was phenomenal. My nephew recommended this restaurant from a previous visit he had. From the huge fireplace to the delicious wings and roasted Brussels sprouts with sweet potatoes, everyone enjoyed their meals. A MUST when visiting Greer! My husband and I had our engagement dinner here 3 years ago and just recently made it back for another visit during the wintertime to see SNOW. This time with our new baby in tow! They've remodeled it since then and it is pretty snazzy now. The bar area is a lot smaller but the dining room is rustic and more trendy. All in all, it is a super cozy mountain eatery with great drinks + eats. The food is always a treat. I LOVE their Molly cut Prime Rib with a baked potato. It is some of the best Prime Rib that i've ever had and you can't go wrong with a yummy baked potato. I ordered a dinner salad to start and their ranch dressing is Hailey-approved (i'm so picky about ranch but Molly Butler does it right). For dessert we got the mud pie and while I don't think they make it in house (I could be wrong) it was still pretty tasty! We also had the friendliest hostess + server ever (I wish that I remembered their names)! Anyways, this is a Greer classic and we can't wait to come back again soon! read more

I grew up going visiting Greer and going to molly butlers. We went for dinner a few years ago and it seemed not as good but we went back last night and discovered it had been remodeled snd the menu updated. Not sure if new management but the food was delicious and it was nice portions for the price. The only negative is that on yelp and online when we looked at the times it says it opens at 3pm which is misleading because only the bar opens at 3pm and the dining opens at 5pm. We planned our outings loosely around the time. We got there at 330 and had to kill some time til five to eat. They are open for lunch from 11 to 230. Seemed odd especially since they were nearly the only ones open in town to eat. Otherwise delicious and loved the new remodel. read more

Truly a staple on the mountain. My Husband and I visited Molly Butler at the recommendation of a family member. Our first time here as we just moved to Show Low. It won't be our last! The ambiance alone would draw us back along with the views. The food and customer service round this place out as one of our absolute favorites. We tried the Caesar salad (best dressing ever!), Buffalo wings which were saucy and still juicy while being crunchy. If you're a person of color, I wouldn't recommend eating here. Molly Butler's opens at 5 pm for dinner.... we arrived at 4:50pm and were told it would be a 15-minute wait. Unfortunately, after an hour and a half, we finally left. It was so upsetting to see them keep sitting Caucasian and us still waiting when we were told we would be sitted in 15 minutes. My buddies and I came here on a trip last month. This place is wonderful. They sat us right at their lunch hour ended (I know, terrible thing to do, we felt bad but they were kind and insisted on us). The food was awesome, I do not remember what I got (just that I liked it) but my friends let me try their French dip (9/10) and wings (10/10). As we were headed out, they let us sign the wall, which I do not believe is a normal thing but my friends and I will remember it for all time. While my friend carved, I saw the mud pie and realized: I needed one. As a result, we decided to come back 4 hours later just for deserts. Mud pie was to die for, of course. In 2009 my family purchased a home in Greer, AZ. At the time Molly Butlers was the only place to get a decent bite to eat. Since then, I have lived in New York City, traveled the world, and even attended culinary school. Since moving back to Arizona in 2020, I just made my first trip back to Molly Butlers. Molly's is the home away from home we all look for. As soon as my girlfriend and I walked in the door, we had inside jokes with the hostess. Once we sat down at our table, it was only a matter of seconds before Jenn pulled her phone out to take pictures of the atmosphere. The smile on her face proved to me that I had already picked a great date spot. Every time we come up to Greer AZ. and eat at Molly Butlers we are always impressed. First of all, great place. Oldest lodge in the state. It's actually older than the state. We usually always get the prime rib because of how tasty it is. One of our friends this last time got fish fry and shared it was incredible as well. Great atmosphere, Great bar, Great restaurant, Great views, Great food, and incredibly great people. We recommend this place to everyone! read more

I went here today with my girlfriend for the first time and was really disappointed. The bartender was really rude and made us feel uncomfortable. Her demeanor was just completely uncalled for and just made us want to leave. I asked for her name and she said it was Sandee. I know if I owned this place this wouldn't fly with me and I'd fire her on the spot. You're supposed to make your customers feel welcome, not like they don't belong. We always stop at Molly Butler when we are in Greer. We had a big meal with appetizers through to dessert. The bartender graciously made me a Bee Knees Cocktail (it was fabulous!) None of the staff was wearing face coverings and refused to wear one when I offered her one for the safety of my immune compromised in-laws when I asked politely. They clearly care more about their convenience than their customers' safety. If they are this careless where the customers can see, I shudder to think about the lack of safety and hygiene behind the scenes! read more

Food was delicious, service great, and the environment was very cozy and comfortable. Exactly what we were looking for. Had the shrimp taco special, very tasty with fresh ingredients. This place was awesome ! My husband and I got a little cabin here in greer it's so beautiful. Went for a little walk and stumbled upon this little gem. We were greeted immediately by the friendly staff and served just as fast in the bar. All the people there even the regulars were all just so friendly and welcoming! We were celebrating so we pretty much just ordered a little of everything so we could just get the whole experience this little place had to offer. Loaded potatoes soup was delicious and creamy, calamari had that nice little crunch, and the wings had that right amount of spice! Had a great dinner with a view. While we were there, we asked how long they were open till and our server said until 9, UNLESS people are in drinking. We went back to our cabin and came back at 8:20pm to be greeted by Carter at the bar and asked him for a drink and we got a "sure" with sarcasm. At 8:35 I asked for another drink and he said "We're closed." Even though their website says they are open until 9... My wife and I had dinner at the Molly Butler Lodge last night. The wait staff were extremely personable and greeted us at the door with a hearty welcome and showed us to our seats. My wife and I decided that we were going to order two dishes that we would share. She chose the blue cheese crusted ribeye steak. I chose the AJs Boomer Sooner Chop which was two pork chops served with brandied apple cinnamon slices. We both ordered a baked potato for a side and the soup of the day (minestrone). The soup was delicious. I have never thought of substituting cheese tortellini for the pasta in a classic minestrone. The broth that they used was simply amazing! The only thing that I would change with the soup would be to use smaller cuts of the vegetables (some were the size of the bowl!). The Pork chops were pretty good - as long as we used the brandied apples with the pork. Otherwise they were a bit on the dry side. The blue cheese crusted ribeye was delicious! There was a nice kick to the blue cheese crust on the steak (this was actually our favorite part of the steak). The steak did have quite a bit of fat on it - would have been nice to have had some of the excess fat trimmed prior to cooking. We ended our meal with a piece of their Fruits of the Forest pie. The pie had blueberries, rhubarb, strawberries, and raspberries. We ordered the pie a la mode. The server was nice to split the ice cream into two sections of the plate so that we both had some to go with the pie. The pie crust was very good - we both agreed that next time we would order the ice cream on the side as the warmth of the pie melted a good portion of the ice cream prior to it being delivered to our table. The pie was good though! The one thing that I was wishing that the Lodge had was milled pepper and salt. With paying about $20 per plate it would be nice to use freshly ground versus salt and pepper that is just run of the mill. read more

We absolutely love this place! The food is delicious and the service is awesome. They helped us celebrate my husband's 60th birthday this week. We split the fried chicken and it was amazing as always. Delicious clam chowder and a yummy piece of pie à la mode that came with the happy birthday song sung by all the employees! Molly's is so lame now. We have been in Greer since 2001 and I cannot remember a more lame version of Molly's. They cannot be the longest continuously operated lodge in AZ anymore because they closed for a spell a couple years ago but they still make the claim. Lame. Why can't you order off the full menu in the bar? You always used to be able to. Now 'It's against the rules'. That is literally what our waitress said. Our waitress told we could place a to go order off the full menu but we had to leave and could not eat it in the bar. I think that was my first no tip ever. I am sure we will be back but not for along time. My wife thinks I am hot and I am still in my 40's!! read more

Came to Greer with the extended family. 12 adults and 12 kids under 11. We would have eaten anything that accomodated that many people knowing there arent many options. When we saw this place we pulled over to get a closer look. Not sure who greeted us at the door, a manager or hostess, but we told them the situation and they said they could absolutely accomodate us. They put us in the back corner-- and we had it all to ourselves--which was wonderful because i dont want my 3 year old ruining everyones night. The service was great. Drinks on the spot, the fresh bread (free) was delicious. Dishes were collected promptly to make room for the entrees. Given they were cooking for 24, the wait time for the food was reasonable... not exceptionally fast, but not too long. A maanger even came out to joke with our group about how the kids were goong to have to wash the dishes... very friendly service. When the food came, I was pleasantly surprised. (Hence why im writing this review). I guess i assumed that a place like this probably has a monopoly, considering there arent many eating out options, so it may not be that good. But like i said, i was pleasantly surprised! My kids mac n cheese tasted great and so did the broccoli. My wife enjoyed her sirloin, and i enjoyed my Tbone. We both agreed the steak could have used a little more salt, but hey, id rather have them put too little on and let me add it than add to much! The cook on "medium" was spot on. My favorite part of the night? Their FRENCH FRIES! Ive given up on eating good fries at most places these days... but these were fantastic. Theyre more like french chips! Great texture and seasoning. And last, the prices might seem a little high at first, but when you consider it comes with a soup or salad, free bread, and the food tastes that good in the middle of nowhere?!? (Greer)--then the prices seem spot on. This place deserves a 5-star rating. Any negative feeback would just be nit-picking. Thanks for a great steak and a great evening! read more
