The cabins are really nice, spotless, and the location along the little Colorado river is beautiful. The service was good, but I think the one person that works in the office is stretched a little thin. They booked us into a non-pet cabin when we had paid the additional fee to bring our dog. In the end they let us check in, but I had to cover the couch and keep him off the bed. That is easier said than done with a small dog that is used to sleeping in bed with us. Also I requested their welcome email 3 times prior to check in but never received it. None of the problems were a big deal but don't expect 5 star service. read more

The overall vibe of this place--and the cabin we chose--was exactly what we needed! Though it rained a little during our stay, it was nice hearing the rain through the trees and when it wasn't, hearing the creek was amazing. We had such a great time by the creek, we'd just read and nap for most of our stay. The only thing that troubled me was the very obvious fire code issue in one of the rooms. The ceiling light/fan was running its (live) wire down one of the corners (issue #1), wire-nutted into more wire running to an outlet over the bed (issue #2), most of which was painted over (issue #3). I'm no builder, electrician, or firefighter, but even I know this isn't just fire code, but wildly unsafe. read more

***Received an email response back from Greer Lodge Resort and Cabins from an owner that oddly has the same name and address as this Yelp location. This same location that denies the event on their response to this Yelp review. The email acknowledges that Cameron is a part of their team and it was Mercy running the lawn mower and not Saylor as Cameron said. I will not take down the review as it feels like you are being untruthful given I have an email response from a company of the same name and location indicating this was a true event after speaking with their employee. Juliana H. should coordinate her responses to email responses being sent by the owner and reviews submitted as this is clearly an attempt to remove a truthful account of an incident at this location. I find it hard to believe that a small location in Greer would have two locations of the same name and address and ironically have many of the same types of experiences with customer service. During a recent visit, we were enjoying the property grounds when a staff member identified as Saylor operated a lawnmower within approximately one foot of two women who were standing nearby. The proximity was alarmingly close and posed a clear safety hazard, not only creating a startling disruption but also risking serious injury. What compounded the concern was Saylor's continued operation of the mower in our direct path, following us as we attempted to move away from the area. This behavior felt intrusive, inappropriate, and highly inconsiderate of guest presence and safety. Additionally, the mower passed just inches from a purse placed on the ground--creating both a physical risk and potential for property damage. However, the most distressing aspect of this experience was our follow-up interaction at the front desk with a staff member named Cameron. Upon reporting the incident, we were met not with an apology or acknowledgment of the safety concern, but instead asked for "proof" that the event had occurred. Cameron explained that Saylor was wearing AirPods and therefore could not see us--an explanation that does little to justify such disregard for guest safety. To escalate matters, when I asked Cameron whether he would mow within a foot of seated guests and then follow them with machinery, he replied, "No." While we respect the need for due diligence in guest feedback, Cameron's tone and response came across as dismissive, defensive, and lacking the professionalism expected in a hospitality environment. We are providing this review in hopes that management takes this feedback seriously and uses it as an opportunity to re-evaluate staff training protocols, particularly in guest interaction, safety awareness, and incident response. read more

I was really looking forward to our stay here. Upon our arrival the lady in the office was not very welcoming. She said she had sent us a text letting us know our cabin was ready and we could go directly there. We never received that text. Not a problem. We go to the cabin and there's a severe ditch to get to where we park. As we're unpacking, 2 little kids are running around right in front of our cabin. Later found out it was the cleaning lady's kids. Our porch view was our truck-unfortunate since it sounded like we'd have a water view. There was water nearby and those cabins had a great view and sounds of the water. So, we locked the cabin and headed out to see the water and nearby grounds. Upon returning, we go to open the door and the key doesn't work. I didn't have my phone on me and even if I did, there is no cell service there. So, we get in the truck and drive down the road to the office. She gives us a different key, but never apologizes. We were lucky this didn't happen in the evening when the lodge was closed. The next day we took off to try our luck at fishing. Upon our return there's a vehicle in front of our cabin. Find out it's the cleaning lady's. There were other parking areas she could have used instead of an occupied cabin's. The cabin was clean and the tv was huge. Those were the high points. The bedrooms were small. All bed, no side tables. And there seems to be a gravesite of old appliances they throw under the cabin balconies. Very unsightly. So, I don't think I would stay here again. read more

LOVED this place!!! My wife and I just celebrated our 5 year anniversary and bought a Groupon for this place. We stayed Sunday - Wednesday, in cabin #97, and totally relaxed. The cabin was beautiful, nice amenities (i.e. fridge, oven, microwave, tv, DirecTV, WiFi, dishwasher). We knew there would be no grocery stores near us (approx. 25 miles away) so we stopped at a SafeWay in Show Low ahead of time and stocked up with goodies for our trip. The Greer Lodge Cabin staff made our trip seamless. We were able to get everything we needed accomplished through texting. Staff were friendly, organized, and patient. The view from our cabin was gorgeous (see photo). There was a babbling brook right in front of us and we could just sit outside and listen to the water run by. It was a beautiful setting for us to do our daily devotional and spend some wonderful quality time together. I highly recommend this place if you're looking to get away for a bit. Really cool cabins but you have to know what you are getting yourself into: Only toilette paper, hand soap and dish soap is provided - no shampoo, no salt, no cooking oil - nothing! You have to bring everything yourself and the closest big store is 30 min away and the closest Safeway is an hour away. Heater max temp in the winter is set to 72 and only one blanket per bed is provided - so depending on your preference bring extra blankets! WiFi signal was pretty good but cellular signal goes on an off On the bright side: Management is super responsive, you can borrow games from the office, cabins are cozy and with great views, check in and out is super easy (without ever going to the office if needed), the sledding and tubing hill is just a few miles away, we didn't see any wildlife but supposedly elk and deer and eagles roam the area. This was my first time staying in these cabins and I really enjoyed it. The staff was very friendly and they were helpful with telling me what hiking trials to go on and even giving us good places to eat around the cabin. They even had the cutest cats (Palmer and Sailor) Palmer was very friendly and would go up to us and let us pet him, we even let him stay in our cabin after we asked the owners if it was okay, he would just chill with us and cuddle us the whole time there. The cabin was spotless when we got there and felt very comfy, I would recommend this place to everyone I know. I stayed for 3 nights and my biggest problem is that we didn't stay for a few more nights. read more

Overall I'm very pleased with this location. From reserving to checking in and out, enjoyed it all and the great location of our cabin. We had cabin 90 and it was clean upon arrival and overall had nice furniture and decor. The only complaint I have is that there's no washer/dryer in the cabin which we stayed long enough we would have used that. Especially with a newborn and dirty clothes. Only feedback but everyone and everything was great! Love the proximity to hiking and creeks.and so many lakes nearby for fishing. We loved our time as a family here. Will be back, but most likely will find a place that has a washer/dryer in the event we stay long again. If you're going for a short trip don't fret about the washer and dryer. I'd only recommend booking if you want a hassle from start to finish and like giving your business to management who couldn't care less. Rude, ungracious and incompetent. Several cabins Tucked away among the forest and other rental cabins. Quiet running river, crisp cold air and SPIDERS galore lol the cabins could really use a deep cleaning. I get that it's the outside elements and of course there are all types of critters, insects, pests to be aware of but it shouldn't look like spiders run the place. I had to kill 4 big black ones inside. It was super quiet and serene , cute little lazy river area and horseshoes to play. The cabin was big and it had everything (basic) you needed--but bring your own food, condiments, cooking ingredients because they don't stock it. It' wasn't an issue for us because we came prepared--but stores are a good distance away. read more

This place was fantastic. We got a cabin with a great view, two bedrooms, and a futon, living room area and a single bathroom. I will warn that we booked a 6-8 person cabin and while I can understand how 6 people would fit in the 2 beds and 1 futon (if they were okay with being that close to one another sleeping), I cannot fathom how 8 would have fit in there. The little virtual tour thing on the site gives us this tour of a cabin with 2 bathrooms, one with a tub and we'd planned accordingly when bringing items to have a bit spacious tub like that, which didn't happen. (The shower is in one of those mini tubs that's really low on the sides, so baths aren't really a thing in there unless you're a kid. Also of note, we had 3 very tall guys with us and they all had to stoop and according to one "do shower yoga" to get to the shower sprayer to rinse their hair. I'm only 5ft 7in and I had to bend over backwards and point the thing straight forward to get my hair rinsed.) However, the view was fantastic, the silence was perfect, even with other cabins I didn't feel like I was in anyone else's hip pocket. The walk to the ponds from our cabin (89) was beautiful and filled with peace. The stream was right outside and amazing to listen to at night. I spent a lot of time out on the porch just listening to the world, so it was exactly what I needed, hence the 5 stars. To sum up a few things, I'll do the requisite pros/cons list. PROS 1. Nature - it's beautiful here and the cabins are set in such a way to share that with everyone. 2. The living room and supplies provided for cooking were great. There's pots, pans, cookie sheets, mugs, glasses, knives, spatulas, wine bottle openers, etc. (I did notice there were only a few forks, but we brought our own plasticware so that wasn't an issue for us, just a note.) 3. Option between charcoal and propane grills. Charcoal is down in the center of the open shared area around the stream. Propane grills on each porch. (Not sure if charcoal was provided, I didn't check.) 4. Peaceful CONS 1. The tiny shower/bathroom and there only being one when it appeared there should have been two in the little preview walk-thru. 2. Beds were rock-hard - I had to stuff pillows under me to even sleep with my hip being how bad it is. Husband seemed to have no issue with it, though he doesn't have the injuries I do. 3. Not sure how on earth that place could sleep 8 people, so if your group has 8 beware and bring sleeping bags for 2 people. 4. One set of power plugs by the door didn't work. (The ones next to the windows in cabin 89.) Things to note: * Towels were not scratchy like previous reviews had mentioned. I had brought my own due to those reviews but felt the ones provided and they would have been just fine. * I had called to confirm my reservation the day I placed it as I did it through Groupon, no one ever called back to confirm, so that's notable. But our reservation was just fine, so no worries in the end there. * USE GROUPON * Spare trashbags are under the existing trashbag in the kitchen trashcan. We didn't find it until the last day and had been simply emptying the whole kitchen bin into the outside one. Whoops! *That fouton in my pictures... is actually insanely comfortable! Overall I'm very happy to have stayed here and I would 100% come back again. If I have a larger group I might try to ask nicely if there happens to be one with 2 bathrooms though, it was already pushing it with 4 adults and one restroom! read more

With kids it's hard to travel and staying in hotels is tough because well they are kids and the noise is 3 times louder; Here at the lodge we had our own space and it was big enough for the kids to have their owns space. We stocked up on food ahead of time but we were able to cook our own meals comfortably here and not worry about eating out and being in a restaurant. There are many cabins in Greer and I've stayed at many of them. My most recent trip was Sept 2022 and I ended up booking 3 nights at Greer Lodge Resort. I've never been more disappointed in a Greer cabin stay as I was here. While the cabin was clean, there were many shortcomings. No Internet unless you wanted to pay an extra $20 a day. Absolutely no cooking supplies, i.e. salt, pepper, cooking oil etc. Instruction sheets taped up around the cabin, including a $50 penalty warning if dishes weren't done. First and last time here. There are too many good places in town. read more

We had a two night stay in cabin #96 and could not find anything negative to say! Let's start off with the scenery.... absolutely breathtaking and picture perfect. The cabin grounds were very well kept. Inside, we were welcomed with a fresh, crisp scent. (Most cabins we've stayed at have that dingy mold smell) everything you see in the pictures is what you get. Bed linens and towels were clean and smelled great. Bed was pretty comfortable and slept quite well. The sound of the running creek was so soothing. I highly recommend Greer Lodge cabins!!! Some tips: Bring your own bedding if you plan to use the futon. Cabin has basic cooking utensils except a cutting board. You'll need your own seasonings If you're coming from Phoenix, stop in Showlow supplies and gas as the nearest store will be 25 min away in Eager. read more

I first want to say that my reasons for staying here are probably different from most. I am working on a book, and decided to spend a quiet few days away from home to just relax, write, and do nothing else. To this end, Greer Lodge was the perfect writing getaway. I chose to say in a Lodge Motel Room and not a cabin, so I didn't have to worry about pilot lights, cooking, or anything of the other issues folks have had in their previous reviews. The room has great heat, as it gets chilly at night here. The room also comes equipped with a microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker, coffee, linens, towels, iron and ironing board (of course if you are roughing it in the woods, who really cares if your clothes are wrinkled?), even has a hair dryer. Oh, yeah, TV with Direct TV and a DVD player and a few DVDs. I did load up the fridge with snacks, but my main meals I ate at either the Rendezvous Cafe or Molly Butler Lodge...had a great experience here, and will definitely come back in the future to work on other projects....as this is a great home away from home. read more

We spent 2 nights in a cabin along the little river. It was so wonderful! Check in was so easy, they sent us a text with directions and told us our cabin was open and the key was inside! We could go straight to it and begin our vacation. The cabin itself was SO beautiful! It was nicer than some of the posh hotels in Phoenix! We loved the space and decorations and amenities. There were plenty of pillows and the bed was comfy. The kitchen provided a full size fridge, dishwasher, stove/oven, microwave, toaster and coffee maker/filters. Bring your own coffee though (and bath toiletries). To say the WiFi is "spotty" is being generous, there really isn't much. So be sure to print off directions to activities you want to do while you are there before you get there, even bring an old fashioned paper map! If you need to pick up a few food items or liquor be sure to stop at the Lazy Lizard before you get into the heart of town. They also sell fishing licenses, if you need one. The 2 trout ponds were well stocked and we had a great time reeling in some big ones! (No fishing license required!) Over all, it was a great, relaxing weekend and we would definately go back! read more

Spent a weekend here with friends, and had a great time! We stayed in dog-friendly cabin #211, and our four-legged friends also enjoyed their stay. We were right next to the main office, and we checked out ski boots and a star-gazing telescope for free. The cabin was well-equipped, and the perfect size for our group of six. We roasted s'mores in the fireplace, and cooked rib-eyes in the fully-stocked kitchen. (We brought our own steaks, but the kitchen had all the kitchen we needed). Awesome place! read more

Beautiful place. Greer is a nice town (small). We stayed in cabin #166 which was new and beautiful. It could have been cleaned better but it wasn't dirty, just some wet glass marks on the table and fingerprints on one window. The bathtub was awesome and it had a beautiful shower and a nice and cozy fireplace. The free amenities are great!! Free fishing poles and bikes to name a few. Customer service was good except for the large girl who was unprofessional, the others were nice. The log motel room was nice but the walls are thin but we didn't mind. This place got a four instead of a three because of the new cabin we were in and how peaceful Greer is. P.S. The website says a fully stocked kitchen but beware. We like to cook and bake and cabin #166 was missing a rubber spatula, can opener, and pot holders. Pans were ok. read more

We stayed in cabin 284, beautiful view but cabin was very dusty, most of the blinds didn't work, beds were horrible, limited kitchen supplies, outside chairs were more like office chairs, no extra blankets, grounds were unkept. For $250 a night they need to clean things up a bit. read more

My husband and I stayed here for three days/two nights after booking on a deal site. We arrived on Sunday afternoon of Labor Day weekend and there were lots of people, but it was not noisy. There were lots of games and outdoor activities going on for the kids and plenty of adults hanging around outside, too...but still, not overly noisy. Most people checked out the next day, and then there were only a few of us left and it was amazing. We sat out on the porch in the mornings and planned our day (which consisted of hiking in the nearby areas--beautiful!) and hung out on the lodge deck and grilled dinner in the evenings. So quiet and pristine. Regarding the room, we stayed in the motel in room 254. This was just on the edge of having a lake view and I believe it was a dog-friendly room even though we did not have a dog. Rooms 251-252 did not have a view and I think 253 would have had a partial view. Our room was quite spacious in comparison to other cabin-type lodging we've stayed in previously. It was clean and linens, while not luxury linens, were clean and did the job. For those complaining about the motel room TV not being large enough or not having seating or being dirty... this is a RUSTIC LODGE. I'm not sure what they were expecting, but you paid for the cheaper rooms, so you got to stay in the lodge (vs resort) section of the property. If you want the Marriott, stay at the Marriott! For us, this was perfect. We wanted to get away from TV and creature comforts and that was what we got. Regarding service, we only contacted the front desk once when we locked our key in the room and they helped us immediately, so I give them 5 stars in that area. A note about food -- There were only two restaurants we saw in town. One was good, but pricy, and the other was not open the two times we tried to go for breakfast. There is a small fridge and microwave in the motel rooms, but really not big enough for more than a day or two worth of food. Bring your cooler if you want more than that. And if you have a small camping stove, that will come in handy, too. We grilled in the available BBQs and made some sides on the stove. Worked perfectly! read more

This place is my heaven on earth! My family have been vacationing to Greer for over 40 years. Last year we stayed in the new cabins by the river. It is by far our favorite rental. Kevin and his staff are so friendly and accommodating. My dad is disabled and has a hard time walking distances, but he was able to throw a fishing line from the porch of this cabin and caught a fish. We hope to make it to this cabin yearly. read more

My only complaint was the sign in the pet-friendly room saying animals were not allowed on the beds and our card would be charged if there was any hair on the bedding.
