Had a growth on my face for about five years and decided to finally get it checked (I know what you're thinking...). Anyways, I was excited to see Dr. Sakamoto because of the great reviews here on yelp! I got to his office early, about 2:00pm with a check in at 2:15pm and an appointment at 2:45pm. I filled out some paperwork and was seen at 2:10! His nurse was super sweet. Dr. Sakamoto came in a few minutes after and introduced himself as Greg Sakamoto. Super nice guy, super friendly, felt like I was talking to a friend. He examined my face and told me I had a cyst. Within the span of 10 minutes it was removed and stitched up. He asked if I had any other inquiries and I asked him about my acne. He gave me a prescription to zap it and a coupon for it so that it would cost me NOTHING! This was my first visit and I was very pleased with the pleasant staff that greeted me. DR. Sakamoto was very easy to talk to, caring, and most of all patient. Unlike some Dr.'s who rush you in and out. The other thing that was great especially if your a first timer is go to their website and download their forms. My husband's former dermatologist failed in identifying a mole that's melanoma on my husband's face. Dr. Sakamoto saved my husband by spotting melanoma and have it removed. I now also go to Dr. Sakamoto. I went for a skin check. The doctor checked my scalp and other parts of my body to make sure those moles are not a threat. We are very thankful for Dr. Greg Sakamoto. If I could give a zero I would. This has nothing to do with Dr Sakamoto but his front staff. I called at around 1100 on October 11, 2016 to make a consultation to meet with Dr Sakamoto and the girl who took my call was super short and rude basically saying there was nothing they could do. It would have been nice to see the Dr and let him make that determination instead of someone who didn't see me in person. I saw the rave reviews and was really hopeful. Instead I'm way disappointed and lost on how to move forward with why I wanted to see him in the first place. read more

I found Dr. Greg Sakamoto off of Yelp and after toying with the idea of removing a cancerous looking mole/growth from my right ear lobe I booked myself an appointment. Lead time to get an appointment with Dr. Sakamoto is about one month, but it's well worth it. He takes the time to check everything out that you want him to and also answer all of your questions about your skin. The office is located at Queens POB III, and I was a little tardy but the woman at the front was super nice about it. I was still seen right away by Dr. Sakamoto and he really takes the time to get to know you as well. I was surprised that he gave me the option to hack off the growth on my ear right then and there which only took about 2 minutes for him to numb me and cut it off which thank god it wasn't cancerous, breathing a sigh of relief! I didn't feel a thing, and you can barely tell that anything was there. Dr. Sakamoto is a great dermatologist if you are looking for one! read more

The panic started when I had an allergic reaction to a sunscreen I was using and when I noticed the appearance of rash-like red bumps on the side of my face, I immediately freaked out. For several days, I felt a burning/itching sensation whenever I touched it so I was desperate to find a dermatologist. Dr Sakamoto was my first experience with a skin expert so I didn't know what to expect. The office staff was extremely friendly and I made my appointment with ease as I explained to them my condition. During my appointment, I took the packaging of my primer/sunscreen to show Dr. Sakamoto. He was very patient and informative about the skin in general during my consultation visit. After analyzing my skin, it turns out that there was a product reformulation that I was not aware of and I was allergic to one of the new active sunscreen ingredients. At that moment, I was so glad that it wasn't something more serious! I was prescribed to a topical ointment and my symptoms cleared up in about a week, which at the same time I also stopped using my sunscreen. Thanks Dr Sakamoto for the advice! read more

I saw Dr Greg Sakamoto for an abnormal growth on my finger. The doctor gave me a full body exam and identified the finger growth and another growth on my arm as likely Skirmish Carcenoma requiring removal by a Mohs surgeon. I asked the doctor to recommend a Mohs surgeon and call the specialist with the lab diagnosis and request an appointment ASAP. Dr Sakamoto took a biopsy of both areas and called me within 24 hours to confirm his diagnosis. As a result of Dr Sakamoto's referral I was able to see the Mohs specialist that day for a consultation. When I asked Dr Sakamoto for a prognosis of my skin cancer condition he assured me I would likely be OK following the recommended Mohs surgery. Overall, my experience with Dr Sakamoto is he is an outstanding and caring doctor with outstanding credentials and a caring personality. I am delighted to recommend Dr Sakamoto. read more

For months I was fed up with the dermatologist I had. He couldn't specifically diagnosed my skin condition and kept prescribing me ointments that didn't work. I went to Yelp and looked up dermatologists and found Dr. Sakamoto. Although it took over a month to see him, from reading his reviews, he was well worth it. I have been seeing Dr. Sakamoto for 5 years! He has helped me with so much more than just my skin, he and his team are amazing! I originally went to him for cystic acne and together we cured it-now I rarely get breakouts! I recently became really sick I started to get lesions on my legs, Dr. Sakamoto took a biopsy and I was diagnosed two weeks later with a rare disease. I went to see Dr Sakamoto for the first time today, and I can't say enough good things about him and his staff. From the time I stepped in his office and getting taken cared of by his front desk stadd, to being reviewed by his nurse May to being seen by Dr Sakamoto, it was by far the best experience I've had a any physicians office. When you go to see a doctor, it's not exactly like you're going to have fun at an amusement park. His staff won't add to any apprehension you may have about having a procedure done. Dr. Greg Sakamoto is the best dermatologist in the state! Haha in my opinion! Located at Queens POB III, his office is on the 6th floor. His staff is very cool and always great me with a warm welcome. I had very bad Haole Rot from body boarding and being outside all the time. He was very quick to help educate me on what my skin was going through and what to do to prevent it. Later on, I decided to get laser from Dr. Sakamoto due to my painful ingrowns on my Bikini line. I'm in my 5th session and my skin is so happy! The hair is almost gone and my skin cleared up so nicely! Definitely worth going to for a consultation! He's amazing :) read more

I was looking for a new dermatologist and looked to Yelp for suggestions. I saw that Dr. Sakamoto had great reviews so I made an appointment and was not disaapointed! Dr. Sakamoto's office is located in Queens POB 3. I either drive or walk from work. If you do drive, there is parking in the building for a small fee. (Don't forget to stamp your parking ticket.) I have been going there recently for laser treatments. Everyone is so nice and accommodating. Dr. Sakamoto is great! Very friendly and knowledgeable! I never feel like I'm being rushed. We chose Greg Sakamoto after being referred to him by Dr. Harada's office when they were booked 3 months in advance. Our daughter has eczema and we made an appointment for 2 weeks away, but she had a severe flare up and was just scratching her skin away so uncontrollably that we woke up to find her sheets stained with blood. So we called Sakamoto's office and told them it was an emergency and they fit us in the very next morning. The staff is so accommodating even when we were half an hour late because of traffic. Super friendly, kind and warm hearted staff. Dr. Sakamoto is good for us because he has a friendly and gentle manner about him that's good for kids and he's a great listener. Honestly, the most professional, polite, and knowledgeable physician I've ever seen. Dr. Sakamoto fixed my skin issue in a minute at no cost. I had been told previously by another dermatologist that the only way to treat the spot was by laser at a cost of hundreds of dollars. First time here. I've heard great things about Dr Sakamoto. All sooo true when I finally met him. Being a new patient, I had to check in 30 minutes prior to my scheduled appointment. Quick easy forms to fill out. I was seen right on time. May, his medical assistant started the evaluation process with photos for before and after of all my problem areas, blood pressure taken, reviewed medical history...very sweet lady. A few minutes later, Dr Sakamoto walks in. Such a mellow guy...great bedside manner. Very straight to the point...gave thorough explanations of all my concerns. Had medication instructions ready. Very assuring of all my concerns and issues. I scheduled my follow up appointments. Prescriptions were faxed to my pharmacy. I was given a rebate for my prescription, which helped me save $$!!
