Let me start by saying that I was fully incredulous when my fiancé told me Gregorio's had some of the best New York style pizza she's ever had. I decided to take her up on the "challenge", and immediately apologized, and told her she was absolutely right!! I can now say that I'm a believer, and will never go anywhere else in the area when I'm in the mood for pizza (which is always). We ended up here in the last minute and looking for some nice Italian cuisine. Based on some other reviews and pictures, it seemed like a really nice place. I cannot recommend this place for multiple reasons. The place is pretty spacious. The furniture is ok and the bar area looked decent. The decorations don't really give a vibe of anything Italian. The music they play is a combination of rock and punk pop in the background. If you advertise authentic Italian then at least try to project some Italian aura! Once we walked in, there was no host or hostess. We did a full circle around the restaurant and a guy from the kitchen area in front noticed our lost look and decided to take us to table. The service staff do basically an average work, and let's just keep it at that. The menu and what is offered seem really fantastic. It's half in Italian but again the the music in the background completely clashes with what you're looking at. Now comes the main event, which is the food itself and that is the reason people go to a restaurant. We ordered a bunch of different appetizers and different dishes. Appetizers including caprese and the salad were ok. The pasta dishes were atrocious. I mean how hard is it to cook pasta for an Italian restaurant and get that so wrong? The food had a weird taste. The chicken Frances was essentially a boiled piece of chicken breast that had been seared just for a few seconds, and essentially tasted like water had been injected into the meat. It tasted like a tasteless watery cake. The pasta had no taste and not cooked properly. The whole dish and the pasta were floating in a body of water. Essentially it looked like the pasta was sitting in a watery soup. read more

I love the linguine vongole here! It's my favorite dish :) I noticed my portion seems to be bigger when I order it for take out vs dining in, could have been just a fluke?! This place seems so busy and full of life when we stop by, only down side is they also always seem to be short staffed when we stop by. Hope that changes and they are able to find more staff. We recently had family in town and ordered severa l large pizzas, some apps and a Greek salad. Our order was ready when expected, as it always is, and still hot when we got it home. We love Gregorios! It's part of our Reston neighborhood. Their eggplant dinner is my comfort food after a long week. Their marinara sauce is really good. Their pizza is a bit more expensive than those chain pizza places so we don't get it all the time (we have teenagers!) but it's the best pizza around. Last time we had the mussels marinara appetizer and it was great. The arugula pear salad is one of my favorites, too. Make sure you ask for the garlic bread knots. The tiramisu is a little too soft but I can't stop ordering it. Consistently friendly and quick service. The ambience in the restaurant is nice - not stuffy but relaxing, even when our kids were younger. The bar and the outside tables are fun places to have dinner with friends. Our kids belonged to several groups who'd order a large catering tray of ziti marinara and a tray of salad and when you see that the tray is from Gregorio's you know it's good food. They also have a small-ish function room at the back of the restaurant that's perfect for team celebrations or group gatherings. It doesn't feel like you're in a forgotten room at the end of a hallway like other places. read more

Such a welcoming experience here at Gregorio's Trattoria. Manager and server showed us so much hospitality that it made us want to come back. Not only that, the food surprised us at how well-made each dish was. We had a steak that came out on an aesthetically pleasing board decorated with tomatoes and seared zucchini's. Our salmon in our salmon pasta was cooked perfectly, crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. We also had the pleasure of trying their classic lasagna and chicken parm which they knocked out the park! If you're in Reston, I urge you to come try Gregorio's if you're craving Italian food. read more

Enjoyed all the comfort food at this Italian spot especially the garlic knots to start. The mussels were perfect cooked they seemed to just melt in your mouth. The pizza was flavored just perfectly for just being white pizza. Pasta was delivered piping hot and ready to devour. The service was helpful and quickly responded to all our needs. I took my daughter to a game at Herndon High School, and we stopped by here for dinner. Charming restaurant with attentive staff. We were greeted immediately upon walking into this clean, visually appealing place. Loved the atmosphere. They had oldies music playing like Elvis. I thought that was different for an Italian place but it was fun. The menu is extensive and they offer a gluten free menu as well. The regular menus includes pasta, pizza, sandwiches, chicken, ribs, pork chops, shrimp, eggplant, steak, veal and more. The service was quick and fantastic. The prices are a little higher than I expected but I'm not from the area so I assume the prices are normal for that area. The food was awesome. Jaime was a wonderful waiter. The atmosphere: My friend and I walked in the other night and were seated immediately. I felt very comfortable eating here. Everything was very clean and the booths and tables were far enough with respect to social distancing. All the staff wore masks too. My review is four stars for the service aka the reason I will give this place another go sometime in the future. The staff were attentive without my friend and I feeling bombarded. Waiting for my dish: I was really looking forward to my dish. The Ravioli di Greggario was named after the restaurant I thought it was a specialty. Upon receiving my dish: It didn't look appetizing. Maybe a sprinkle of parmesan or cilantro would have helped. The rose sauce was pungent and salty I could not taste the ravioli without scrapping the sauce off. To my surprise, the server would notify the manager and he would come to the table, apologize, and insist that he make it up so I could a better dish on the house. I've never been to a restaurant that would put forth that level of hospitality. I was very impressed. read more

We had the fried zucchini for an appetizer, and it was decent. The breading to zucchini ratio was a bit off, more breading than necessary, but yet it was a good dish. For dinner, my wife had a pear salad and she really enjoyed it. We ordered a pepperoni pizza for our child, and found it to be above average, compared to our local area. I had the steak Florentine, and it was prepared and served nicely. The meat was tender and seasoned. My only "beef" with this beef is that it was served with way to much salt. Rather heavy on the steak and grilled veggies. The restaurant was quite busy at 7pm on a Friday, but we walked right in. This place had a good for large groups, and for those looking to unwind. Not for romantics looking for a quite evening. Overall, I would visit again. There are some interesting items on the menu. read more

There is not too much to say about Gregorio's, or maybe there is. I love Italian food. Being from the NY/NJ area, where Italian restaurants are in abundance, it gives me comfort. It knows my body pretty well when it is done right. It is relatively easy, and provides me with enough nourishment to make me feel like all is going to be okay in the world. Italian restaurants try to reflect this attitude, and this one does, but collapses under it's own weight. Is the food good? Yes. I got the Rigatoni Al Capone and it tasted pretty good. Pasta was perfectly cooked, the bolognese sauce not too rich, the sausage and meatball had good texture. It also helped the dish was not scalding hot and there was a generous portion of both pasta and meat. Where it goes wrong is the "country club" atmosphere. It generates a pretty fair crowd over the age of 50, maybe even 60. If they do not know you, you will be treated as such and you have to force your way into conversation. The servers and bartenders see this, and really are quite terse when you want to talk to them. Just keep the conversation minimal with these folks. Then there is the prices. My goodness - the prices are outrageous. My meal cost $27 - with tip, when it could have easily been $10 less, and I would have raised the star rating one more star. I would forgive the country club atmosphere and the gruff staff, if the prices matched the food quality. They do not. This is a way overpriced meal for something I could get at Pomodoro for less and enjoy more. And I do not even want to go into the speed of service here. The staff clearly favors the regulars instead of getting new customers. Unless you are a friend of a regular or a staff member, back of the line for you. Maybe that explains why the restaurant (sans the bar area) was quite empty during a Saturday evening. I will not be returning. read more

We ordered the Mozarella Fritti, Calamari, Penne Vodka, Salmon Rose, Pollo Francese, Ravioli di Grigio, Filet Mignon, and Alfredo. Everything was great but the Alfredo was a little bland. When I order from this establishment the food is usually very good and on point but this last time that I ordered the fettuccine alfredo with chicken; the chicken was very tough and not tender. Premium prices for hit or miss carry out pizza. We're done ordering from here. Multiple times we brought the pizza home only to find out it was over cooked with the crust burned on the bottom. It was burned a lot! Once it even had a huge tear and hole in the pizza, like they had problems taking it out of the oven. The best pizza we've had. Ordered to go and the food was thankfully ready on time, and it remained hot until we got home. Like other people mentioned, it's definitely a bit expensive, but I think it's worth it. The dough and crust are just right and the cheese was so good. Tip: heat it up in the oven for a couple minutes when you get home. read more

We are local to the North Point stores, and leverage Gregorio's for pizza regularly. Hailing from NJ/NY, we have higher expectations for pizza than tomato and cheese spritzed on a crust. The Gregorio's pizza is on the superior side, thin crust, a lot of cheese and sauce (and toppings if requested). The pie is on the large size - great for larger families or big eaters, like me. Price is on the higher end, yet I am getting a large great pie for the money - enjoy. read more
