This restaurant was recommended by a friend who lives in the area and it was a great recommendation. Great atmosphere including a little section with lots of Italian delicacies for sale. Our server was very friendly and personable and helped navigate the gluten free options on the menu. I loved that they offer gluten free pasta and pizza crust. We all found our food delicious.

It was my first time here and I will definitely be back! The staff was very nice and welcoming. I had the spaghetti with meatballs and that was delicious. It was served with delicious garlic knots. The best part was the Tiramisu!!!! Since it was my birthday it was complimentary! They also have a private room for parties. Second visit for Dinner: I brought my 2 grandchildren for Pizza and they loved it! If you ask Tue server for pizza dough they bring you some to play with! Kids pizza was $10 and included a drink! The pizza was six small pieces! I had the Lasagna and it was delicious! I had to bring half home! Our server/bartender Chris was GREAT! One of the Managers came by and gave the grans free Gelato! He showed them chefs make a pizza! They said Nana can we come back tomorrow!

A hidden gem, delicious authentic Italian restaurant. LOVE the complimentary Garlic Knots! Went to the Potomac location first and been back to the original Reston location twice! For Valentine's Day, each table had fresh cut red and white roses, a nice touch! The Eggplant Parm entree with side of spaghetti is delicious! The fried eggplant is juicy and tender, and not oily. The spaghetti pairs well with the eggplant Parm and prefer the Eggplant Parm entree over the sandwich (loved the steak fries)!) The distribution of eggplant and cheese was a bit off (the cheese was off to the side) and the sandwich was a bit dry (I understand if there was more sauce, it would be soggy). The Eggplant Parm entree just hits the spot! Hubby enjoyed his Pollo Donaldo with 1/2 chicken, mashed potatoes, and grilled asparagus. Everything was fresh and on point. Our food paired well with a glass of Chardonnay and Pino Noir. Service was great and excited to come back!

We came to Gregorio's Trattoria based upon reviews and the fact that they have gluten-free menu items. My son got a gluten-free pizza which he thoroughly enjoyed. I got the Frutti di Mare seafood dish, which I ordered with spicy marinara sauce. It was Super Yummy!! Our server was very helpful and our order was taken quickly. I highly recommend!

This is one of my favorite Italian spots in the area. I love coming to this family friendly, homey Italian restaurant! We've eaten here many times and even gotten it delivered/ picked up for takeout. Portion sizes are fantastic and the food is just so very satisfying. Their garlic knots are my favorite and service is always on point.

I'll get right to the point. This food was NOT good. Everything from the pasta being severely overcooked to each of the pasta dishes being flavorless ... the scampi literally has not a whisper of garlic, butter, wine or salt. And the broccolini had a very weird scent and taste. Oh and breadsticks were dry dry dry and dense dense dense without an ounce of a dipping sauce to accompany them. The only reason this isn't a 1 star review is because the shrimp in the scampi were perfectly cooked. So disappointed (& still hungry).

I can't say much about the ambience because we have never dined in - but consistently good pizza. Favorite neighborhood spot for a pizza

The restaurant itself is old school Italian with the drippy candles in wine bottles and dated decor. It could definitely use a facelift - and still maintain that classic Italian restaurant vibe. The food was the most disappointing part of the journey. Calamari that was chewy and not at all seasoned - clearly frozen and out of a bag and our meals were no better. I LOVE veal saltimbocca and get it whenever I can. The veal was thick, mozzarella wasn't fresh, and it was drowning in canned mushrooms. Nothing about our meal said fresh. We were leaving the next day for a quick trip so we did not take our leftovers home, but I can honestly say we wouldn't have even if we didn't have a trip planned.

I will start off by saying that I had low expectations given the track record of non-chain Italian restaurants I've tried since living in northern VA of which 85% have been terrible (remember I'm from NJ where Italian food should be the state food). But I said YOLO, crossed my fingers and ordered the marsala via GrubHub. The moral of the story is that I was PLEASANTLY SURPRISED by Cantina D'Italia overall because the marsala was pretty tasty, spaghetti cooked almost perfectly, garlic bread with cheese perfectly seasoned and cheesy and they sent an added little unexpected bonus of a pretty side salad with a homemade vinaigrette and fresh Italian bread and butter! Oh and the portion was HUGE! Totally got 2-3 meals out of it. Cantina D'Italia has given me hope ... or I should say at least gave me an Italian restaurant I just might frequent and explore all the other menu options :)

I make a Barada burst at home, we learned in Italy how to do it. Yours was one of the best I've ever had. Same with the lemon ricotta ravioli. It's like we were in Sicily again. Sitting at the bar, we decided sure why not have their best steak? And we did. And it was. This was a Prime Kansas City strip, 18 ounce bone in. on top, a buttery braised shallot. Cooked to perfection, tasty and buttery. Our sides were these nice parmesan crispy, layered potatoes and a delightful grilled leaf spinach. We were a little disappointed we had no room for dessert. But we will be back! The service was spectacular. Sitting at the bar, it was like we had two personal servers and a third on standby at all times. It was much appreciated. As for the food it was hit and miss. Our husbands had the short rib raviolis and-although it was flavorful, there was not enough meat inside the raviolis nor were there enough raviolis to justify the price tag. Since the sauce was extremely flavorful I forced my husband to share some of the skimpy sauce to dip my pizza crust on it. Luckily the guys had enough of the wonderful fried mozzarella and bread to not be grumpy. One tip that our whole party agreed on was that the sauce was better suited if it was paired with chunks of lobsters instead of of the stuffed short rib raviolis. I was happy with size of my thin crust pizza and it was way more than I could eat. However, I am not sure if I was actually ok with how the ingredients were divided jn the quarter a fourth of the pizza contained olives ,another fourth was the mushrooms, ,another fourth was the prosciutto and for the life of me I could not remember the fourth ingredient. I'm still ponedering whether I am a fan of this. My friend had the Marguerite pizza and she was extremely satisfied with it. As to the place itself, it's nothing fancy, it's just your typical pizza place in a strip mall. It's just ok. One thing I noticed about it is the dim lighting, but to be fair it's a normal complaint for most eating establishments. We all had to break out our IPhone flashlights to read the menu. I wish most eateries would have a dimmer switch by your table so that when you are ordering, there is sufficient lighting as you read the menu and when done can be adjusted to mood lighting. The service felt disorganized--we were first asked for drinks (which is standard), then only appetizers. After finishing those, we had to flag him down just to place our dinner order. The most disappointing part was the ravioli di carne. The portion was not only inadequate but honestly felt insulting--both to me as a customer and to the restaurant itself.

This was a business dinner and when we first entered I was amazed at how big and beautiful it was inside. The bar area was large, oval, and really upscale and nice! They also offer valet here, which is helpful given the area, it's tough to find parking! Our server was great! She offered many good options, offered up very helpful insight, and did a great job keeping an eye on our table. Their wine list is large, with so much to choose from, whether Italian or New World - They have a nice selection of bottles! They even have their own label (not sure who makes it) which I tried and it was decent, but we opted for something else. It was tough to select a salad, an appetizer, and an entrée, as we wanted to be able to eat everything and there was so much to choose from which looked so very appealing on the menu. I started with their arugula salad and it was excellent! Such a simplistic salad like this has to be made with fresh greens and this definitely met that mark! I did ask for a side of balsamic to drizzle a tiny bit in - but it really didn't need it. Dinner consisted of their braised short rib - AMAZING! So very tender and flavorful... YUMMM!!!! A nice balance of flavors, sweet and savory in this dish. Their pasta menu looked so very nice that I wanted a pasta too, so prior to the mains, I split their smoked chicken pasta with a colleague and that dish was crazy - so smokey and flavorful! The pasta was spot-on al dente too! Definitely a rich dish, creamy, flavorful, and very powerful - but tasty! We were all too full for dessert, so a couple of us just chose some Sambuca to sip as we ended the dinner and that was great, served perfectly chilled with the coffee beans. While we understand the need for policies, a bit more flexibility for special occasions would have gone a long way. Overall, the experience and food were very good, but policies like this can impact repeat business. Parking nearby is somewhat of a walk. He seemed to know a lot of the customers which makes it feel homey. They gave complimentary bread which came with butter, olive oil, balsamic, and other fixings. The bread was super soft on the inside and had a nice crunch from the exterior. My boyfriend and I ordered the calamari, scaloppini mare terra, fettuccini con funghi, and fettuccini al frutti di mare. In simple terms: calamari, a seafood vodka pasta, fettuccini alfredo w mushroom, and veal with lobster bits served with green beans and scalloped potatoes. Surprisingly, I didn't love the calamari. It had a good size but lacked flavor. It also could have been cooked a tad bit more for better color and texture. The fettuccini alfredo was super creamy and had such a strong mushroom taste! The veal was nice but a bit chewy for my liking. The scalloped potatoes were good but nothing special. However the star of the show was the seafood vodka pasta! It had such an amazing vodka flavor with loads of seafood! I have to admit, they put way too many calamari pieces and not enough of the other items mentioned in the dish. Another thing was that I found a strand of hair on my plate. When I notified the server, he said it was just from the green beans but would exchange it for me. Later, he explained that the "hair" was green bean skin.. which was odd to me considering the hair was turning black to white. I didn't appreciate him trying to make an excuse. I decided to look past it even though the server didn't apologize. Good first experience (other than the piece of hair). The seafood vodka pasta is def a must-have. The vibes are great and the owner makes you feel like family.
