Recently, a flyer for Mr. Pepperoni arrived in the mail. We had never heard of them before. It turns out that they've been around for more than 10 years! The flyer offered coupons for family meals. We don't need that much food for the two of us. Since the flyer included their entire menu, we looked it over and decided to order a pizza and a side of zucchini sticks. Rather than have our food delivered, since they aren't very far from where we live, we went there to place our order. To order, walk up to the counter, and your order will be taken. A very nice older man, whom we thought might be the owner, took our order. We decided to order a "rustica pizza" which consists of: "Italian sausage, bacon, roasted red peppers, black olives & mozzarella cheese". We ordered a medium-sized pizza, which was large enough for us to get two meals out of. The pizza was good. It did have a little kick, and it held up well as leftovers warmed in the microwave. The zucchini sticks came with a side of marinara sauce. They were piping hot and, for the most part, the batter adhered well to the zucchini. I say "mostly" because one piece had the zucchini sliding right out of the coating. Still, we thought that, as far as fried zucchini goes, it was better than many we've had. We waited inside while our order was being prepared. The dining room is kept very clean. They have photos framed on the wall showing New York City and Chicago from the past. If you dine inside, soda is either self-serve or bottled. When our order was ready, the older man noticed that it had started raining hard. Fortunately, we had a parking spot right outside. He held the door open for us, which was kind. We both agree that we would return at some point. read more

As a big avid pizza eater I don't think nothing compares to how well they made my pizza with the perfect amount of cheese and crust was well baked and soft. The wings were good but nothing over the top. I'd give it 6/10 wings but the pizza 9/10 it was well cut slices too although the prices could be better. I'm really picky with my pizza....so y'all can take my opinion with a grain of salt haha the staff was very friendly and their pricing is shockingly low. it took about 10-15 minutes for the pizza and garlic knots to come out. they had a coupon for an XL pizza for $8.99 - garlic knots for $4.99. I didn't try the pizza until we got home, 20 minutes later. the pizza was ok. I'm more used to a NY style pizza since that's where I am from. garlic knots were a little bland, could use more garlic seasoning on there if you know what I mean. overall, I think this place is great if you want something quick and cheap. if you're a pizza snob like me, probably don't get your hopes up here. read more

I usually go nextdoor to Chen's Kitchen--the best Chinese food on a budget in the area imo--but they were closed today. So I went here instead. I might have to alternate between here and Chen's that Gyro was so good. Full of meat and a good amount of vegetables, I finished it a little too quick because I just wanted to keep eating. Staff is very friendly and polite. Like Chen's the place is cozy and also like Chen's is never as full as the quality of food deserves. I am absolutely coming back and absolutely trying the whole menu of sandwiches. To pick one bad thing, because every review should always have at least one thing they didn't like to maintain a balanced outlook, I would have to say I wished for more onions in the gyro but that might be simply that I love onions. A little more sauce wouldn't be amiss either. But these are minor complains of a person actively looking for something to complain about. The food was really good. I'm definitely coming back. After a few more visits and more dishes sampled, if the quality remains as it is the review will go to 5 stars. I never award 5 after just one visit. And I plan to have many more. read more

Piping hot pizza! Fresh veggie toppings that are well cooked. The crust has a crunch to it. The sauce is lovely. Everything just comes together perfectly. Say hello to Mr Pepperoni right here in Herndon, Virginia 25 minutes west of Washington DC and 240 or so miles south of New York City. The menu - fantastic and extensive( please check out the photos) with gorgeous garlic bread, delicious salads( we got the tuna), Chicken gyro with pita, the Italian specialties like Lasagna just to mention a few of the crazy good items that we ordered for the sixth Sunday of the 2022 NFL season; then devoured with love, napkins and loud appreciation. The owner here is a beautiful man who is warm, welcoming and so very kind. The same goes for his weekend Manager Freddy who is just a great guy. The way he brought out our order to go and showed us each item was extraordinary. A lot of love here! They are very generous in their portions. There was great energy and smiles, fun and lots of laughter in the kitchen as I waited for the food. This is a cosy restaurant that is open 7 days a week and has loads of parking up front. We just moved to Herndon (va) and have been so busy unpacking and repairing or updating things inside and outside, that we are too tired to cook. We got a flier, in the mail, just days ago. we ordered on line and it arrived pretty quickly to our house, super nice delivery man, who i think works directly for them. i love their flier/ad, it says "your taste buds & wallet will thank you".. they were right! you get a lot of food for the price with ONLY a 3 buck delivery fee, but we gave a nice sized extra tip as well. we will "dine in" next time, and try some other foods but this time the hubby had the hot pesto chicken philly & cheese sub. he loved it. and i had the ham and cheese sub. very fresh! read more

The Fairfax location is new, not yet very well-organized, and short staffed, although we're doing all they could. Originally made an incorrect pizza for my on-line order, so I ended up having to wait (with several other customers cooling their heels, too) for the pizza-maker to make and bake a new pizza. This is a new location for Mr Pepperoni. I remember some time ago visiting in the old location. I had a craving so I ordered a steak and cheese with French fries. Fries and chips are offered with the sandwiches. The place has an interesting décor inside, old style pictures of NY. Nicely done. Nobody in the restaurant, at 5pm on a Tuesday. My food is ready and I head out to the car. I already had a beverage in the car plus I like to listen to the radio. Sandwich is exactly as ordered. Bread is crispy (better than Subway) on the outside and obviously fresh. Meat is cooked well and fries (seasoned, not quite my thing) are fresh and hot. For the price, this place is a good value. I'm giving 5 stars for several reasons. Taste: we got a special, extra large 3 topping for $12.99. the taste was quite good. I know some from NY say it's as good, I don't agree but it was good. Second: that price! $12.99 for an extra large, you can't beat that. Third: their delivery was quick and food was hot. We also got the zucchini fries and they were very good. Does not look like a nice place if you walk by, but go in and you won't regret it! The actual restaurant was a little dirty, especially the bathroom. But we all enjoyed our pizza orders. The lunch special ends at 2 pm and they refused to give it to us at 2:03 pm. There is a great variety of pizza and appetizers available. Pretty solid delivery option. The pizza is decent with a thick crust. Vegetable pizzas are generous with the toppings. Fries are have a good coating, soft inside, but need to be reheated/crisped when it gets to your house. Chicken philly type sandwich is tasty. Pasta carbonara is a large portion and the sauce is good. Calzone is large, could be a bit more stuffed though. We picked up once and it was somewhat depressing inside. We tried this place the other night, and decided to keep it simple with a medium (the smallest size; when did every pizza restaurant in the world decide that "medium" now means small?) pepperoni to go. The gent who took my order was polite. The pizza took about seven minutes to come out. I watched the news on the tv in their dining room while I waited. The pizza was good, but nothing to write home about. Think "late night and nothing else is open" level. That said, the medium *coughsmallcough* pizza with one topping was over $12 with tax. In my books, Mr. Pepperoni does a fine job. I have gone back repeatedly over the years. Not weekly, not often, but steadily. Yesterday I called in an order for a large (14") cheese pie and a gyro salad to go. They said 10 minutes. I arrived at 11 minutes. It was ready. I paid the pleasant man and took my meal home. The pie was very tasty. The crust was thin, crunchy but tender. The sauce complimented everything with perfect balance. And the cheese was nicely browned for a great taste and texture. Ordered from Mr Pepperoni for the first time yesterday. I got a chicken gyro salad. This is one of my favorite dishes in general, and at first I was super excited to eat it because it looked very nice aesthetically. Normally I guess it comes with a side of tzatziki and a side of dressing of your choice. I opted to substitute the dressing for extra tzatziki. That ended up being a good decision, because both the two TINY cups together barely covered the large salad to any significant degree. The tzatziki sauce itself was good, but very watered down, meaning one of two things: a) it was watered down on purpose to be economical for the restaurant or b) someone made a bad batch that night. Either way, I was skimped out on the most exciting part of the salad--not a good value for $10. Consequently, the salad had little flavor, even after both sauces were dumped in. Honestly most of it was like eating straight lettuce, which personally I don't prefer. I tried to disperse the onions in such a way that each bite might pack a little more flavor, but in the end I just ended up dumping on some Italian dressing I (luckily) happened to have in the fridge. Even that ended up overpowering the rest of it. It was a sad night for me. The chicken in the salad was good--well-seasoned. It may have been a little dry, but overall it--like the onions--helped me further solidify very strategic bites at this point. I ordered a side of garlic bread to meet the delivery minimum. Good food, decent delivery service, a little longer than I would have anticipated, but since it was late on a Friday night when ordering, I guess I can't complain too much. Pizza was delicious. Had great flavor, cooked well enough without being burnt on the bottom and very little grease even though it was loaded with pepperoni. The veal parm was good, although missing that layer of melted cheese on it. The pasta was good, as was the sauce, but I had wanted to taste the meat sauce and it seemed like there was very limited amounts of meat in the sauce. I'm not sure if that was normal, or if it was because it was the end of the night. Portions were huge! Especially the veal parm and pasta with sauce and garlic bread. I had three meals out of it. I like Mr. Pepperoni and plan to order again when I need a fix. Pizza is better than the standard Papa Johns, Dominos and Pizza Hut. I'll update review at that time. Probably will stick with pizza, though the calzone's sound good. I'd recommend giving this local establishment a try. read more
