Great Quality Work - Just Plan Ahead Had a sole replacement done on my near 7-year-old Thursday Boots and the quality of work is excellent. They look fantastic and were brought back to life beautifully. A couple things to know upfront: There's a language gap, so you'll need to communicate via text. The owners are a sweet Armenian couple who do great work, but texting is the way to go. Also, my repair was 2 days late without notification. I didn't need them urgently so it wasn't an issue for me, but if you're on a tight timeline, the name "SOS" might be a bit misleading. That said, this is clearly a small family business doing quality craftsmanship, and I'm grading on that curve. For something I need once in a blue moon, I'm more than happy with the results. I never felt ripped off or scammed - just be realistic about turnaround time. Bottom line: Excellent work at the end of the day. Just text them and don't expect rush service! read more

What an amazing hole in the wall and quick turnaround too! I dropped by shoes off on a Saturday and they were ready by the next Friday. The owners are an older couple who came to the US two years ago and had been doing shoe repair for 40 years. My heels look brand freaking new. They put on a new sole and touchup paint all over, but it looks fabulous and you'd never know they were 5 year old shoes. I wish I had taken a before photo but truly the after looks BRAND new!!! What a lovely, friendly and kind couple who run this business!! The stitching on one of my hiking boots came undone. I brought it to a shoe repair place that I had been to before on a number of occassions and they told me that it would cost me around $50 as the work was intricate. I was surprised and asked them how intricate is it to sew a part of the shoe where the stitching came out?? He gave me a look. I thanked him and left. I did a quick google search when I was in Studio City today and SOS Shoe Repair came up with 5 star reviews. I was literally 3 mins away! I walked in and was greeted by Sam and his lovely wife Alla who couldn't have been kinder and nicer! I showed him my boot, told him I tried to glue it but it didn't hold and he said it had to be stitched - and it was not a problem. He had it done for me in less than an hour! And... AND.. he glued another part of the sole that was loosening which he noticed. The cost? $10 Yep $10!! I have officially found a new place to bring all of my boots, shoes, etc for repair! I'm happy to have found S O S Shoe Repair. I have a pair of Eileen Fisher black flats that I dearly love wearing. I have worn them so much they started looking too shabby to wear them with much of anything. I couldn't bring myself to throw them out and had looked for another pair like them or similar to them but no such luck. While driving through the parking lot to go to another business in this center I saw S O S Shoe Repair. I went in and asked Sam, the owner, if he could do anything with my shoes and he said he would put a new sole on them and clean up the leather. I was excited at the possibility my favorite shoes could be revived and I took them off in the shop and left them and walked out barefoot. When I went back to pick them up I couldn't believe my eyes. He had done such a nice job on them. They looked like new! They looked so good I didn't want to wear them and mess them up. I got over that quickly and went back to wearing them everyday because I had the confidence Sam could spiff them up again if need be. And he did. I took them back a year later and he worked another miracle on them. I bought a pair of Everlane flats that wound up being too narrow in the toe box. I took them in and asked if he could stretch them. He had them on shoe stretchers for a couple of days which helped. I've been able to successfully wear them while the leather continues to stretch on its own. The most recent piece Sam worked on for me was my burgundy crossbody Hammitt bag I've had for seven or eight years. Another favorite and staple of mine. It was looking tired and had recently gotten a stain on it. I was sad to retire it but I decided to see if Sam could pull off another feat. I picked it up today and about fell over. I was not holding my breath on this piece. I was braced to say goodbye to my trusty Hammitt bag but thanks to Sam's abilities I don't have to. Certain services like a good shoe repair, dry cleaner and alterations person are difficult to find. When you do, you feel like you've hit the jackpot. You waver between wanting to shout their praises from the rooftops to keeping them under your hat so they'll always be available when you need them. A real professional! Cannot recommend enough! I had a broken lock on my Buscemi sneakers (the one that holds the straps), and while Buscemi were nice enough to send me a free replacement lock, they never recommended a cobbler, so I came to S O S. I brought in a pair of 10-year-old BED|STU boots from NY, totally beat and the leather worn almost completely off. Great shoe repair place! I admit, the bad reviews on here made me slightly nervous about taking my favorite Loubs here but this store was open when the other shoe repair store in the neighborhood was closed for the night so I gave it a try and I'm so glad I did! He did such a nice job on the first pair of heels that I dropped off another pair of Louboutins to get repaired the next day and he did a beautiful job with those heels too (for the record, the second pair of pumps were satin which is merciless when it comes to stains but he did a clean job. Perfect!) I have a bunch of shoes that need new heel tips because a favorite pair of shoes got totally ruined by a shoe repair place in Encino years ago and I avoided letting anyone else touch my shoes until now because have you ever tried to replace heel tips for yourself? Well I have and I don't recommend it. It's much more difficult than you might expect. I will definitely be bringing my shoes here to get fixed from now on. The guy who works here is very sweet and he does a great job and his prices are totally fair. He seems very knowledgeable and takes pride in his work. He has put in elastic "straps" in the shoes and long zippers in the boots. He has been so accomodating and capable fixing up my footgear. I've been bringing my shoes here for the past 3 years. It's a tiny shop and just one nice older gentleman working but he is efficient and totally affordable. He's saved so many of my favorites heels/boots/shoes and my wallet is incredibly happy. It's a little far from my place now in downtown but I still drive here all the time. I don't trust anyone else anymore after a few bad experiences. He is honest, affordable and does and amazing job! 3 years ago I I had the soles of my favorite boots replaced at another shoe repair place in Beverly Hills, it cost me $70 dollars ($35 per shoe) and the worst part was, it started coming apart a few weeks later. I was so upset I brought it back and they refused to fix it because I didn't have the original receipt. BUT I was lucky enough to find S O S Shoe Repair, I brought my boots in and he fixed them for $10!!!! He did such a great job I brought in 5 other pairs and he fixed the heels on all my boots. Made my favorite boots brand new again. Today, I brought in a cute yellow bag that got a bunch of black stains on them. I thought it was doomed for sure but he was able to get the stains out and my leather purse is as good as new. I swear he is a miracle worker! My Marc Jacobs brown boots had the soles and heels replaced as well for $25 bucks! Polished and fixed! I love this laptop bag. It allows you to carry it several different ways. A backpack or messenger cross-body strap or short handles. But the broken zipper made it so I couldn't use it for a while. Sam warned me he'd have to add an external seam in order to add the new zipper. Yet promised to make sure it's straight. The final product came out phenomenally!
