More diner fare than a true bbq place, but no worries. They serve breakfast "all day." Very affordable and large portions. We tried the cheeseburger and the chicken pita sandwich. We had french fries, potato wedges, and onion rings. Absolutely no complaint with any of it. They make your hamburgers and cheeseburgers to order, you tell them what you want on the burger. I didn't know what to expect from Greg's, but when my family and I gathered for lunch here, I was happy with the service, food, location and pricing. (Considering I live in Hawaii, most everything is relatively cheaper). Food was familiar and filling (BBQ, burgers, sandwiches, etc.) The entire family left happy and full, and thankfully I was able to feed the entire clan for less than $100 (9 people) and that is excellent. read more

Food was good but you would think a man who walked in at 1:20 in the afternoon, who ask if it was to late to sit down and she said no! Most were pleasant but they didn't close for another 40 minutes enough time to eat and be out of there!! This place is tired and not really a BBQ restaurant. My co-worker picked Greg's as we were driving back from Cleveland based on a Trip Advisor rating. We pulled into a strip mall and were quickly seated and handed a menu. Greg's menu looks more like diner there is a variety of items and only two choices for BBQ pork (chopped or sliced). I opted for the sliced and my co-worker the chopped. The food comes quickly with a pile of French Fries on the pork (so much that we had to put them on a napkin to eat). The meal also comes with baked beans and NC hush puppies and red or white slaw. The good was the red slaw which had a nice tangy taste with a barbecue sauce vs. mayo and the hush puppies were sweet and tasty. The barbecue, fried and beans were just OK. Food 3 Sub par BBQ, slaw and hush puppies pretty good. I would not return for the food. Atmosphere 2 Worn seats and interior, ready for an overdue make over. Be Ignored and consequently Ignor Been awhile since I've been to Greg's which in the past has been mediocre at best. In terms on Service, it's gone downhill from Mediocre and I can not comment on the quality of the food. Walked in today about 12:30. Not particulary busy at the time. Sign said to seat yourself which I did. Picked up a copy of the local newspaper and while I was reading it, another couple walked in and seated themselves as did another couple a few minutes later. The gentleman from the first couple got up and found a copy of a menu at another table. Finished reading the Stateville Landmark and none of us had been approached by any staff member or the restaurant. Finally I got us and left but stopped at the hostess stand at the front to lodge a complaint but she was too busy making sure a take out was OK that she never even looked at me even though I stood there for a lot more than a couple of second. Never came here before because of her different reviews about it. However I'm glad we ended up coming here today. We were actually going to get Chinese food at the buffet next door but they were having management problems so we came to Greg's. Upon entry we were greeted and sat and even though our waiter took a little bit to get to us she was very kind. My mom had the gyro sandwich and I had the burger with onions chili and slaw on top. My burger meal also came with onion rings and fries, and the presentation of it was awesome. The food was actually really good, the service mediocre, and the atmosphere other cute, down home cooking type of joint. We will definitely be coming back! Really want to try the breakfast. I regret every life decision that led me to this place. There is nothing redeeming about it and I don't understand how it is in business. It is a kick in the balls to anyone who bears the great name "Greg". First of all, the service was really lame. "Whatchu want ta drank?" is not an appropriate greeting. Try "Hello" or "Hi" or something more traditional. Or, if you can't do that, please try to have a smile on your face so you don't seem pissed off that you have a customer. Next up is the menu. A quick glance reveals this is not actually a BBQ restaurant. Yes, there is BBQ. But there's also burgers, pizza, spaghetti, and even gyros. I have no problem with a place having all these things on their menu, but please don't call yourself "Famous BBQ". It insinuates that you are a bbq restaurant. Clearly you're not. I quickly decided I couldn't eat BBQ at a place like this, so I went with a burger. I ordered the "Enough Burger". This is an appropriate name because after one bite I was like "Ok, that's enough." Worst burger I've ever had. Would rather any fast food burger. Needless to say I left without finishing. In closing, please don't eat here. It ruined my life. I love having breakfast here on Saturday mornings! It's cooked just like home and also the staff keep your coffee full, table clean and the food is very fast! I us the French toast with sausage links and hashbrowns with coffee. The sausage was fresh, the French toast had a hint of cinnamon and powdered sugar as well! The hashbrowns were crunchy and soft inside. I love that they even offer Mickie Mouse pancakes for the kids and make it special for them! The restaurant is also very clean and an extra room to the side for groups as well. I really like how each order is made fresh and not reheated or sitting for a while before you order. Their omelette a are huge and I often share mine! The bacon is crispy without having to ask as well. They're closed on Sunday so make sure to plan ahead! I can't wait to return! read more

I ordered a barbecue plate through DoorDash. Positive notes: Food was hot and the portions were good. The fries, hush puppies and coleslaw were pretty good. My baked beans were beanie weanie beans from a can. Not acceptable. My main issue is with the barbecue. If you are going to call yourself a barbecue restaurant then your barbecue should be the headliner. It is not. It was mushy and tasteless. No texture, no smoke flavor. I was very disappointed. I hear that they serve a really good breakfast. I am open to trying their breakfast. Do not come here if you are wanting bbq. Go to Randy's or Little Pigs for a better experience. read more

resutruant has really went down hill. I went to the restroom and came back and my food had been thrown away! I try to give them another try and this time I ordered a BBQ sandwich again. Never received my bun for the sandwich until the END of the meal. Had to ask for the bun THREE times. The kitchen gave me the BBQ tray instead of the sandwich and I was told to tell the cashier to make sure I wasn't charged extra. Considering the fact I have food sensitivities to the majority of the items on the tray, I couldn't even enjoy my sandwich. I shouldn't even be charged extra for food I cannot eat and did not order. On my way to the register the same lady who threw out my food last time was spraying degreaser in the open and it was in reach of customers and food. Bothered my asthma and other guests. I really don't try to leave bad reviews for places but this was one of my families favorite resutruant to dine in before my moms chemo. I have never eaten breakfast there or had the bbq, so I can't say how good or bad it is. I have eaten lunch there several times and was not very impressed. The hamburger was dry and overcooked, and they ignored my request to leave off some of the toppings. The fries were good and some of the vegetables ok. The meatloaf must have had msg, as I had stomach cramps later and msg will do this to me every time. The gyro had some unidentified meat in it, and I think that authentic gyros have marinated chicken. Clearing the tables was very noisy with much clattering, and my condiments were snatched from my table by the waitress! read more

The food is not bad at all. Price is decent for what you are getting. The place is not clean at all and the last time I was there I saw a cockroach! The few times I have been there I have had to stand and wait for 5 or more minutes until Pam decided to get off the phone, and this has happened more then 4 times. Half the time the drink machines were down, and they would have to run to dollar general to get some. When they do work the ice machine was down. Not impressed with the place at all and who ever manages it needs to step up. The only thing I enjoyed pretty much was the waitresses since that Vita girl got fired. Most of them bust their ass to make sure you get what you need and are nice. Hopefully they fix the place up, but until then I will not be going back. read more

Went in and the sign said to please wait...which we did. As the hostess had a conversation with a seated customer regarding the recent weather. Once she was finished she looked at us and said 'yeah'? We asked for a seat...was told to sit any where we liked. Waited for someone to wait on us. Another couple came in and seated themselves. They were handed menus and asked what they wanted to drink. Since NO one had waited on us (no menu's or drink orders)...we got up and left. We were never approached by anyone. This is not our first time to Greg's and were hoping the experience would be better than the last time. Nope....just the same. We went to an establishment that knows how to treat customers. An establishment that wanted us to spend our money with them. Apparently...Greg's is doing such a great business....they do not mind if customers walk out the door.
