Every weekend we spend in central Oregon we have to swing by here at the beginning of our Saturday night. Andre makes some of the best drinks we have ever had. He's truly a mixologist. Have been to Greg's Grill many times before, as it is one of our family's favorites in the Old Mill District, but this was the LAST time! We were first faced with two extremely unpleasant hostesses. The first stood behind the counter and proceeded to stare-down my younger sister and mother, while the second didn't even crack a smile during my encounter with her to obtain a table. I have NEVER seen such poor customer service! We had arrived right at 11am (when they open) and waited over ten minutes to be seated when the restaurant was literally empty and staff were standing around. Once seated at drab, out-of-date, and over-used table for four, we were not given the name of our server and he took over 15 minutes to take our drink order (which he proceeded to screw up!). We were not asked if we wanted appetizers, nor were told the daily specials --- on Father's Day, presumably one of the busier days of the year! After finally ordering and receiving our food, it was rather lack-luster. Compared to the booming food scene in Bend, Greg's Grill has fallen out of touch with the competition. My fish was much too greasy and bland. Portions were small for the price and not one person at our table of four was completely satisfied with their meal. While we were eating, we watched two couples get up and leave, presumably because they weren't having the poor service and lack-luster food any longer! My father had asked for a drink from the bar that the waiter obviously forgot about completely until 30 minutes later. At that point, we had our fill and had to track him down to get the check. Overall, DON'T waste your time or money at Greg's Grill! Keep walking just a little further down Powerhouse Drive to Anthony's where you can get a delicious meal with better service and ambiance. This was definitely my last visit to Greg's, and sadly, it was a complete waste of money! read more

We love the location and this beautiful building. The service has always been good. Our issue is the food isn't always consistent. Some meals have been great, others haven't. We'd like to see the consistency improve because we love coming here. Our most recent experience was with the Prime Rib. My husband ordered Med-Rare, I ordered Medium-- they looked exactly the same and the temp was not hot. Unfortunately the 6 spears of asparagus were overcooked. The gluten free clam chowder is quite good though! We will be back and ever hopeful of a nice meal to accompany this gorgeous restaurant. read more

Met some friends for happy hour! Good atmosphere, fun music a bit loud at times but we got a kick out of it. Good priced happy hour menu, food was pretty good but not super impressed. Visited on a Friday evening for dinner. Atmosphere, service and food were all excellent! Our waitress, (Melinda) greeted every table as if they were personal friends. The timing between courses was perfect and dishes were cleared almost immediately. My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful anniversary dinner here tonight. When we arrived we were seated promtly, the wait staff was very friendly and attentive. The coconut prawn appetizer was quite good. I ordered the flat iron steak med rare, and my with had the salmon. Both were cooked perfectly. The place is nice and the staff and manager were great. The view is the best part, food has gone down hill over the years. Our group all ordered cocktails and they all came in the same crappy whiskey tumblers. Really a martini in a short glass? Asked later what the deal was and they said they ran out of glasses. I have never seen that in an establishment that didn't have a gas pump in front of it. Guess it could have been worse. Stopped in while passing through Bend on a road trip. Staff was super friendly, but kind of slow. We chose Greg's Burger and the Root Beer Brisket Sandwich. They were delicious! The prices are moderate ($13 burger and $11 sandwich) and the food was well worth it. It's right on the river and the atmosphere inside was good. read more

Great Bloody Mary, good beer, ok food, horrible service! Came here Sunday to finish our awesome adventure in Bend. Service started out great, as we promptly got out drinks and soon after received our daughter's (2 years old) meal. It would be another 40 minutes before we saw the waitress again. A buss boy brought out our order of fish tacos and chicken tacos. Don't fall for the fish tacos. While they are good, $20 is not the value for these. My daughter did not want her grilled cheese - nothing wrong with it, it's just how kids are. She ate the fish from the tacos instead. I searched for our waitress to place an order for a side of fish and another drink for my husband. She was nowhere in sight. I asked a buss boy to please find her. I assume it was the manager who then came over and asked what wrong with our meal, there was nothing wrong, we just needed more food. She must have been rushed because when I requested a side of fish for my daughter they brought out another taco. Ok, fine, whatever. Another buss boy brought out the food and I said thats not what I ordered. He apologized and walked away and did nothing to correct this mistake. Again, ok, fine - just realizing this is now standard service at this place. Finally, the original waitress meanders her way over to our table and says, "sorry, I failed you." We asked for the check and 20 minutes later (no joke!) she brings it over and says a portion of meal was comped because we did not like it - $10 dollars off a $75 tab. As I said, food was ok and I tried to explain this, but she was very aloof and didn't get it. By this point our daughter was over it and ready to go, as were we. This is our 2nd visit to Greg's Grill. Our 1st visit was in May 2016, service and food was very good. Our 2nd visit started good and ended not so good. We were seated quickly and our order was taken promptly. We ordered drinks and that is were the problems started. It took a long time for our drinks to arrive. We waited for over 45 mins. before we started to ask were our food was. The person we asked was not our waiter but he went and talked to our waiter but our waiter did not come and offer an explanation for a few minutes, no she did not appear to be busy. When she finally came to talk with us we were told that our order had been lost. When our food finally arrived 2 of the four items were good one was cold and the other was not what we had ordered. We talked with our waiter, Tina, and she informed us that she had been talking to the Manager, Andre, about our situation. We were informed that we would be taken care of for our delay. When we were ready to leave Tina told us that our entire bill would be taken care of. We were appreciative of this but it was not expected. I do want to thank Tina and Andre for their help. The over hour long delay was not acceptable but staff was very progressive in dealing with the problem. We plan to visit Greg's Grill again in the future. I hope things are resolved by then. read more

Been going here on and off the past 6 years. Been at least two years since we were last here and very disappointed. The prices are inflated particularly for the wine list and the cocktails. Small marguerites compared to previous years. My wife and I ordered the Cesar salad with chicken. The dressing was non descriptive ( well, actually bland ) , and the chicken tough and overcooked. The waitress was friendly and worked fast and we had no problem with the service. But overall they need a whole new attitude toward their food prep. The couple we were with are life long Bendites and they were amazed at how much their prices had inflated . Four who wont go back now. read more

Why do people come here?? I just don't get it... We were seated by the window facing the river and as the sun set we were gifted with quite the view: cobwebs, dead flies, dust, and trash all sat along the windowsills. There was even a long cobweb hanging from their vaulted ceilings that was attached to their dust encased fake foliage. The food is yummy, but the portions are minuscule for their steep prices. Three of us had dinner and had one drink each and an entree and paid over $100. The only plus was the super friendly hostesses who were absolutely delightful! For such an upscale place, the wait staff really needs to up their wardrobe game -- our waitress had a giant hole in the inner thigh of her faded jeans and had her giant phone hanging out of her back pocket... if your prices are so steep, why not reflect that in the appearance of your wait staff and establishment. The waitress seemed to really hate her job, almost like we were an inconvenience being in her section. All in all, super disappointing. Not worth the time or money. read more

The bar tender Tiffany was very quick and attentive to me with a very upbeat attitude to my groups needs, even with a crowded restaurant. Yesterday I was one of 6 ladies who went to Greg's Grill for lunch. We arrived around 12:30 & waited 15 minutes for an outside table. We felt this was completely acceptable & were seated within that timeframe. Our waitress did not take our order for quite some time. We waited, waited, & waited some more. Everyone around us received their food, settled their bill & meanwhile we still had not received our order nor did we get any updates from Our waitress. 1 hr & 15 minutes later our ordered finally arrived. No apology, no explanation, no waitress. When she finally came around, she offered a complimentary dessert which we declined. All we wanted was our check so that we could get out of there. The Mgr finally came over, apologized & said he would make it right. We were offered a comp of 50% on our food but only after we were told that our beverages would also be comped as well..they never were..... We ended up taking our bill up to the front counter to pay since our waitress never came back. In the beginning of this fiasco, we asked for separate checks, but of course that never happened. They were happy to take the credit card presented, but promptly "lost" the card & we ended up waiting yet again until the card could be found..... No apologies, terrible service, suboptimal food. I highly recommend you don't patronize this place unless you want to spend all of your free time there waiting for crappy service.. Good luck to this restaurant's future... read more

This is food priced at a premium yet poorly done. I've come here for years, both for dinner and for happy hour. I used to bring my clients here for a congratulatory dinner, but would be too embarrassed to these days with much better choices as far as the eye can see. Most cuts of meat I have had here have been overdone and flavorless, and they have hands down the worst margarita in Bend- they have no fresh squeezed anything, just nasty sour mix. It was explained as we ordered our greyhound and margarita the other night that they gave up fresh squeezing due to the size of seatings they now get- it was slowing down their service. Really, how then do other large Bend restaurants manage it? Even a large place with schlubby food like Mcmenamin's can pull off fresh squeezed beverages. Puh-leeze. The only thing in its favor anymore is that the service is generally good, and their "happy hour" extends to all times of the night, which is great if you can find a drink you can stomach (gin and tonic, perhaps?). A sad relic that was once something more, now a tasteless shell filled with tourists who have no idea what they are in for- a symbol of the low bar being set in Bend eateries these days as tables are all filled no matter the quality, and managers try to find how low they can set it while increasing their profits. read more

I would have given Greg's a 2 star a couple of years ago but things have changed. The menu is great and I've always enjoyed the food. What really is impressive is the all day happy hour in the bar.
