The food was great . My son and I had the fish and chips made with fresh halibut. My wife had the ribeye sliders and all were delicious. The only thing that could have made the meal better was sitting by the river near Sundown. All of this coupled with the excellent service by Mallory made this a place we'll be sure to return when visiting our son. We have excellent restaurants in Chicago but the ambiance, fresh seafood and service at Greg's Grill make this a place to have on my short list of places to return for a great time. read more

Beautiful building inside, reminds me of a ski lodge. Waitress was great and made great recommendations. I went with their Prime Rib (served on Friday and Saturday). My wife and I stopped here on our way home to Seattle. We got great service from Esme and Jason. I ordered the Mushroom Carbonara and my wife got the Sunset Salmon Salmon. Both dishes were delicious. The Mushroom Carbonara was interesting in that instead of noodles it had finely sliced cooked cabbage. I took the leftovers home! Esme was BUSY but did not leave us unattended and was helpful in picking out dishes to try since this was our first time here. Near the end of the night Jason stopped by and shared some fascinating history of the area including the conversion of the powerplant. The restaurant was nicely appointed, has a great view of the Deschutes River, and has nice outside dining. The building, location, food and service all came together to make it difficult to try another restaurant next time. read more

We were attending the Matt Rife comedy show so this was a perfect spot to drive over the bridge to get there. Service & food was good! Beautiful place and would love to come back when no fires so can sit outside. Our reservation was for 4:45pm and we got seated after 5pm, and the waitress said no more happy hour. I didn't argue about it as I'm guessing they would've let us get one drink on the happy hour if we wanted, but I didn't have a drink. Staff refreshed waters and checked in on us often. As for food: Crispy calamari was better than the fried artichoke hearts. The sunset salmon salad was delicious and salmon cooked to perfection. Tried my friend's chicken white bow tie pasta and was yummy. Hubbies wagyu burger was fantastic! Brother had the ribeye and he said it didn't seem like there was a "rub." Really a great experience!!! I had some special guests visiting and needed a quiet, private place with good food. GG easily met those, but they went above and beyond. They really worked with me on reserving their private room which had a beautiful view of the river, amphitheater, and mountains. We stayed late and the staff was gracious and accommodating. Really though, the truest measure of the evening was that we all left filled both with good food and great memories. I seriously don't think I could have asked for better. read more

We walked in tonight (Tuesday 3/10) at 8:12pm and were met with a very chilly "uh, we're done for tonight". Posted closing is 9pm. I get closing early at 8:30 / 8:45, or politely explaining that you decided to call it early, but it's really the attitude that was a huge turn off. Oh and we wanted to grab one glass of wine and maybe a dessert before a movie. Guarantee we would've been done before the 8 tables still seated. Prior visits where we were served have always been pretty meh. Food is alright, but not spectacular by any means. And service is hit or miss. First time going here in years and Wow. This was a disaster of epic proportions. Quite shockingly bad honestly. This place is HORRIBLE now compared to what It once was. Let's talk about it. The atmosphere I will say is easily the best asset this place has. The architecture combined with the view is very nice. The waitress was also nice and service was quick, but thats it as far as good things I can say about this place. Let's get into the disaster that is the food. Right away you can already tell something is up when every item on the menu is described using this "how do you do fellow kids?" type of lingo trying to be cool and hype the place up. Very off-putting and tacky right from the start. Then there's the Seared Ahi Tuna. And this is where the bullshit really starts. Keep in mind that this appetizer was 20 dollars: What we got were only 5 sushi size pieces of Tuna surrounded by shredded carrots straight out of a bag & some cucumbers w/Taro chips. TWENTY dollars for 5 pieces of Tuna? Talk about a robbery in broad daylight. Let's just say the photo of the same dish made 5 years ago from another reviewer is NOT what they served us today! You can tell this place is losing money. It's not hard to see why. Not to mention the Clam Chowder, although decent, was giving canned soup vibes. The lemonade my sister ordered also tasted like it was minute made. Also while we're on the topic of appetizers the complimentary bread we were served was pathetic. The photo attached speaks for itself. 4 abysmally thin & stale pieces of bread. Then theres my main course; the Steak Sandwich. In the photo I provided, you can clearly see this ain't no goddamn steak sandwich. Thats ROAST BEEF. 27$ for a glorified roast beef sandwich which was dry as hell and quite basic. Straight up false advertising. Insane ripoff. The BBQ Ribs my sister got were also awful. The BBQ sauce you can tell was NOT made in house and store bought. The quality of the ribs were also quite low as meat was dry and unseasoned. Painfully average overall as far as flavor. Overall, it's hard to think that these guys don't know that they're cheap as hell. Cutting corners and lowering quality while upscaling prices to maximize profits with their fancy location. This place was once good, we've been here times before in years past and it was always a pleasant experience for the most part, but now it's a joke. I know the CEO will respond with some automated "So Sorry" message but seriously, just do better. I do not want your apology. I want you to give your customers what they pay for. read more

amazing views from the outside dining area. build around a old Woodmill and it's a very nice shopping area and also a trail that goes by the river. Lots of space to eat. Food was great really enjoyed the calamari which was crispy. fish and chips was solid. I should've asked for vinegar on the side. I would definitely go back there. Service was very quick. Looked forward to trying out this local place! Got into hotel after 12 hours on the road. Walk in at 8:45 P on Saturday and they come to us like we're crazy and tell us the kitchen in closed. We asked, "you aren't open until 10?" Looked strangely at us and we said, yes on your own website, Apple Maps, and _your own front door_ - yes closing time of 10 pm fri and Sat is clearly printed next to the entrance. She acts all confused and says, I'm sorry there's nothing I can do! There's a Red Robin about three buildings down. We go there and it's packed. I bet Greg's grill would be too if they honored their hours! We love to try local and support local but when the local place is closed over and hour before stated and sends you to the chain, and the chain honors there hours, not much you can do!! Disappointed the menu looked fun. Reviews also say Greg's is kid friendly and on the door they were advertising some local kids event, but she adds as we're walking away, "Red Robin is probably more kid friendly too". We have had the best experiences here. The food is so good and the staff is incredible. Bri (waitress) is amazing, goes above and beyond for us. Our daughter loves the kids menu which is a huge bonus. If you want great food and great service in Old Mill with a great river view, Greg's is a must. read more

Great location in the Old Mill District because it has great views of the river and it is easily walkable from a variety of parking lots. I visited on two separate afternoons, and although I don't love that there was no Happy Hour because of the music at the amphitheater in those evenings, we still enjoyed our visits. We sat at the bar, and the service was great. We learned a lot about the local area as we were tourists from Florida. The second evening, we had a reservation for dinner outside on the patio under an umbrella for shade from the afternoon sun. We again ordered some drinks and shared a Caesar salad. It was fresh and had a good amount of dressing but too many croutons. For our entrées, we got the Yellowstone Burger, which was seriously well done but still had good flavor. I would have sent it back, but I added some mayo to it, and it made it more juicy. The burger is very lean, so the cook temp is hard to master. We also ordered the Grateful Veg burger, and it was very good. The ratio of beans to binding agents were good, and the small whole potatoes were quite filling. We enjoyed sitting outside because we were able to listen to the music at the amphitheater while we ate dinner. Service was satisfactory, though we found that none of the services from any place in the Old Mill District was great. The food made up for it. read more

I'm from VA relocating with the better half. His sister mentioned this place as being good (she lives in West Linn). It's an amazing building; reminds me of a place called Sweetwater Tavern in Centreville, VA. I really like the food- honestly the best part of our visit was the server (I think his name was Mike). The drinks were great and the after dinner Spanish and Nutty Irishman coffees with the pumpkin cheesecake (his recommendation) were amazing. I will say it's a pricey restaurant and I would probably only visit once in a blue moon because of that, but it was a really great place and the ambiance very nice! It's casual or you can make it dressy, just like a lot of the places at the Old Mill. Thumbs up! read more

Greg and everyone affiliated with him and his Grill should be ashamed. This was one of the worst meals I've ever had. Let's start with the positives... Ok moving on to the negatives: Everything was expensive, frozen and cooked in ancient fryer oil. The cocktails had absolutely no alcohol in them, and all the food came out cold, except our baby's food which came out 10 minutes later and scalding. Our appetizer came out awhile after the food, which is always a treat. The staff rarely came to check on the 4-5 tables of people enduring their food on what should have been a busy Sunday dinner service, instead they were running around rolling silverware and building up the courage to face their disappointed patrons. I can count on one one hand the times we've had to complain about a meal at a restaurant, but absolutely everything we ordered was disgusting. The waitress, who was very nice, told the manager who laughed while looking at our table but never came over, despite having nothing else to do. The manager is a coward. We did have several items comped, but still paid $71 for an unbearable experience. Oh also there was a standup comedy thing going on with some guy yelling poop jokes at people trying to mind-over-matter their way through their terrible dinner.
