The View Tap and Grill is a well hidden gem; maybe, a diamond in the rough. The restaurant is part of the Juniper Golf Course clubhouse. We were part of a group of a dozen people gathered for lunch and conversation. To accommodate the group the staff helped us rearrange tables so we could sit together. Over all the service was top notch. The general consensus was that the food was very good and several of us commented that we will make The View Tap and Grill part of our regular restaurant selection. For my part I ordered Loaded Nachos for the table and an Original Burger for myself. The Original Burger might be the best plain burger in Central Oregon. It consists of a large perfectly seasoned patty of ground beef (probably 80/20 to provide the real hamburger flavor), a slice of tomato, and a slice of onion in a nice bun. The house made chips were crispy. On the downside, the Loaded Nachos did not live up to expectations because they were far from loaded and the cheese was cold. The menu was small; but, there are at least a couple more items that I wish to try and I will definitely go back for another Original Burger. read more

My friend and I came for a couple drinks and to split something light and decided on the Chicken Caesar Salad which tastes excellent! However, for $18 I expect something a minimum of twice the size it was! It was literally the size of a medium side salad...RIDICULOUS for $18! Even given the inflationary stupidity! Just a short and sweet review here. Honestly, I used to work here, and I think the kitchen staff is amazingly talented! If you order off the regular menu, it's hit or miss, but if you order a special, it's usually fantastic. The flatbreads are generous and delicious, the burgers are well-made, the salads are huge, and can make two meals, and are very very good. But they're really great at though is catering. If I were you, I would have every event at the space. Their event coordinator is amazing and the food that they make for events is delicious. I love the staff here. They're kind, knowledgeable, and they make great drinks. Lastly, you can't beat the view here. It's not called the view for nothing. The golf course is beautiful and the view from the restaurant is so lovely especially in the summers when you can sit out on the deck. read more

Cool bartenders. Cold beers and great views of the mountains. The bartender Ryan is really cool. We can really hook you up on some killer drinks and beers. There's tons of TVs and sports on every TV when you're here. The beer is really cool. When in the summertime the AC is always cranking really low. I got the chicken wings and the bartender even let me split up the flavors into different flavors. All the people that are here are really friendly. Destiny the beer cart girl thats out on the course will hook you up with the cold brews. She is super sweet. Ryan the best coolest bartender. Did I say that already? Ok. We came here on a Groupon, food was ok. That's about it. Beer selection is deplorable. No stout, no porter, not even in a bottle or can, i.e. Guinness. I was very excited about this restaurant coming to Bend given what I had read about the owners/chef. However, after one visit, I would be hard pressed to visit HH again and sadly all six of us feel the same way. I thought the food was overpriced, the wait staff was very annoying as they kept asking us if we wanted some appetizers even though we had all declined after we were asked the first time, the food was mediocre and some portions very small for the price. Example is the salmon entree that cost $46 for a very very small piece of salmon. The bread served with the chicken entree was so hard it could not be eaten. Finally, we all felt the atmosphere was more like a Cheesecake Factory than the upscale eatery we had all hoped for. read more

The view of the golf course and mountains was pretty. I sat there thinking of my family members who would like this place. The food was good. I had some tasty buffalo wings. They were nicely presented. My husband had a dry burrito with nothing adorning his plate. It looked awfully blah. I was surprised a nice restaurant would allow a plate to leave the kitchen like that. He said it was good but was also surprised. No salsa, no garnish. The server didn't ask if he wanted salsa or anything either. She didn't come back until we were finished so he didn't have the chance to ask for anything in a reasonable amount of time. She was kind of grumpy. I asked about gluten free options and she wasn't happy to be telling me about them. At one point I had questions and she walked away. There were 2 other people at the restaurant, another server who might have been just starting her shift, and a manager decorating for the holidays, both very friendly. It was an interesting lunch. This was our fourth visit Herr. Every time the food and the service has been exemplary. Tonight I had the Reuben with onion rings. I order Reubens all over the states. This was hands down the best Reuben I have eaten. And the onion rings were wonderful too. Our waiter was great. Had a terrific sense of humor and took care of us very well. read more

Even though it was 'busy' for the one person serving everyone, he was friendly and helpful. The 2 stars is for the food. It was not good. My veggie omelette came with sliced avocado on it that was literally completely brown. Pancakes were doughy and definitely not 'fluffy' as described in menu. There were lettuce leaves used for garnish with very small sliver of gross pineapple. The house potatoes tasted as though they had been re-heated or sitting in warming pan all morning and had some weird spices on them. Hot cocoa wasn't even stirred so there were clumps of 'Swiss Miss' mix floating in the warm water. Definitely wouldn't recommend and won't be returning here. The restaurant is under new management thankfully and they really are trying to improve on their past year's mistakes which, by reading these comments, turned off a lot of loyal customers. I'd remind anyone giving them another chance that the COVID restrictions are limiting the plans a lot of restaurants had to grow and improve. So I'd be patient at this restaurant and, for that matter, everywhere else you go this summer as they cope with the new normal. Having said that, they still have Prime Rib nights on Tuesday, the burgers are usually great, the regular and sweet potato fries are tasty, the side salad is usually fresh and delicious with their special ranch or blue cheese dressing, and the bar has extensive choices. The wine options are limited but the hard A and local beer selections are usually really solid. The wait staff seems new and our server did a fantastic job when we went to visit there last week. COVID notes: The hours are scaled back and they close at 6 for now. The menu is limited to their lunch menu only. Each table was disinfected after someone left and the servers were wearing masks. Tables were removed so the space looks really open (and empty) to adhere to the 1/3 capacity restrictions. Communal items like condiments, salt and pepper shakers are gone and you get small individual sizes instead on request. If you're not in the mood to eat dinner so early, head over on a sunny day, support a local business, and enjoy a peaceful afternoon after work on the patio. The view can't be beat and is the prettiest place in Redmond to have a cocktail. You can watch the sun set over the greens, drink in hand, and enjoy the breeze. read more

Do not come here, a complete waste of time. Came in , sat down waited for awhile and got no service, the waitresses just ignored me. Then a couple sits down next at the table right next to me a gets service immediately all the while I still kept getting ignored to the point I just left. Save yourself the time and stay away from this place, worst service I have ever had ! Excellent place for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The view is amazing and the food was excellent. Would recommend to all our friends. It's a perfect place for date night or date breakfast:) it's casual but nice and the prices are very wallet friendly. We've even brought our kids there too for a nice family dinner. Service was super sloooooow!! My husband and I went there on Saturday morning where only two other tables were occupied. There was only one waitress and she was super slow for everything- from taking our orders(10min) to bringing us our coffee(5min).... took her 45 minutes to finally brought us our breakfast!! We thought she forgot to put our order to the kitchen. The worst part was she never came to refill our coffee. My husband had to walk to the bar counter where she was, to get refills- twice. And food was not good at all either. We'd have been satisfied if food was worth the wait, but sadly no. They were not busy at all. I have lived in Central Oregon most of my life and never gone to the View restaurant. The food tasted alright, but not something I would yearn to go back for. The atmosphere was not what I expected being a golf club type of place. It looked more like a big empty room they decided to put tables in. The service was HORIBLE. We went there for lunch and had reservations for 11people. They gave away our reservations to another group and it took about 2 hours from start to finish. The food did not arrive until about an hour and a half in. The waitress was very nice but was not a good waitress in the fact that she didn't not pay attention to our needs at all. Came here without knowing what to expect. I knew the golf course was here but had no idea they had a craft beer and pizza restaurant here too. Had the meat hog pizza and a few craft beers. The website said Halibut and chips was the special for 13$, it was cod and 14$. The taco salad came out no cheese, who ever saw a taco without cheese? The server seemed to want to be anywhere but there. We have visited many times on our way to the airport and have had drinks and snacks . They were great the dinner, meh at best. Recently visited The View as part of a group of 50 plus Lions Club members attending a Christmas banquet and frankly came away less than impressed. The food was served buffet style for $28 per person. For our hefty buffet style price, we ate very mediocre food. Tri-tip was cooked to a dry state, no medium rare in sight. Gouda scalloped potatoes lacked any presence of gouda cheese. Caesar salad was the best dish in the line. Turkey was bland as was the gravy. Green beans in green bean casserole were almost raw.....way undercooked. Most of the food I suspect was bought from a Sysco truck and warmed up in the kitchen. The pumpkin cheesecake desserts though tasty, were all exactly the same size which means not made at the restaurant. Service was below par. During the social hour before the serving of food, only one person manned the bar so wait time was extensive. Dirty plates on our tables were still not removed long after eating was completed. All in all, a very disappointing experience for the price we paid. read more
