Cute, new, and unassuming coffee shop! I've been wanting to try this spot, for a while now. Glad I finally was able to check it out! Love this new coffee spot. The ambiance is grunge but so clean. They have a nice selection of bike gear and merch. Lots of seating for groups. Baristas working were really friendly, kind and helpful. The coffee was delicious and smooth. My boyfriend got the yuzu tonic and said it was the best one he's ever had. I got the burnt honey latte and it was equally delicious! The only downside was parking was difficult since it's in a whole area for car shops. Had to park across the street but still worth it! Will absolutely be back! read more

The coffee I got: a cold, caramel banana latte was... not good. It was too sweet, so it overpowered any coffee flavor, and this is despite me paying for an additional espresso shot in my drink. The interior is very nicely decorated but limited seats depending on time of day. Parking is actually a nightmare, so I don't see myself coming back since it's so stressful just looking for open spots to park. The best thing about this place though was the customer service provided by Crystal and Irene. These individuals were so kind in trying to make my drink right, and they were both very patient and friendly. I would like to give kudos there. read more

I stumbled upon Gremlin Garage when I was in the area and desperately trying to find a coffee shop that had parking. I ordered the caramel banana latte and the latte itself was delicious and had a very yummy natural banana flavor with the sweetness amplified by the caramel. The foam was a bit too thick and stuck to the lid. The workers were all very friendly and the garage aesthetic is very unique! There are only 5 tables but they look very cozy. I really liked the ambiance, there was a whole projector setup and they had a movie playing. I will be back to find the secret menu and try more drinks. :) read more

Super cool coffee shop, loved the ambiance, the shop is esthetically pleasing. The service was great, I love when the employees are smiling and super friendly (hard to come by these days). My boyfriend found out about Gremlin Garage through Ocfeed and wanted to come check it out. We are coffee fiends and love discovering new coffee shops. It's pretty hidden but there's a sign on the side street so it's easier to find. I ordered the Burnt Honey Latte and he ordered the Caramel Banana Latte. We both loved our drinks a lot. The garage is super cute and decorated with lots of seating space. I can't wait to come back and try their Basic Bitch Gremlin off their Fall drink specials and also try one of their pastries :) read more

This place is so cute inside! It was a little hard to find parking but that wouldn't deter me from coming back. I parked a little ways away in the liquor store and walked over. This was my second time visiting Gremlin Garage, both times I have gotten the mango sticky rice matcha on the secret menu. Both times the matcha was super clumpy and sipping the chunks of matcha was very unpleasant and bitter. The mango flavor was good, but I just wish their matcha was made in a more fine and smooth texture. Service was nice and quick, I would come back for their coffee, and study space, but just not a fan of their matcha. read more

The only reason I cannot give it 5 stars is because parking sucks. There's rarely a spot available and if there is, you have to be good at parallel parking. read more

Tucked between car repair and auto body repair shops, Gremlin Garage is a gem in the competitive Costa Mesa coffee scene. The menu offers many creative delicious options. So far I have had enjoyed the Matcha latte, regular vanilla latte and my repeat order and favorite at the moment the burnt honey latte. The baristas are always friendly making recommendations on both the delicious pastries and coffee options. This is the worst mocha that I have ever tried. It's like getting a mocha from a hospital cafeteria just taste like bad, hot chocolate, and it was very very hot to the point where it's almost burning my hand and mouth, but my wife's was not hot really weird and inconsistent how that worked out also very expensive. I recommend going to WIP WHICH IS MUCH BETTER ESPECIALLY THE MOCHA. I THOUGHT I WOULD GIVE THIS PLACE A TRY AGAIN, BUT IT FAILED FOR THE SECOND TIME. read more

Wow! New coffee spot - recommended by our children. So pleased we came. Ordered a cappuccino (my husbands "test" drink at any new place) and I got a mocha (best one ever!). Both perfect. Spacious space - varied seating with a fun and authentic motorcycle (and typewriter) decor. Guava Danish hit the spot. Owner and CEO Crystal is especially warm and enthusiastic - so welcoming. Went to try this coffee shop for the first time today! Had a friend visit us from SD that was equally excited since we had seen great reviews! The customer service was horrendous. I know it was early but the owner tried to correct me on the matcha I wanted. She was very rude and clearly it was too early for her to be friendly. I clearly stated the strawberry matcha on the menu and she told me I wanted the one on a separate menu. I'm not entirely picky but it just wasn't the one I wanted and I wasn't going to be charged an extra dollar for one I didn't want. Needless to stay matcha was not bad but the customer service alone deterred me from ever coming back. read more

Came in on the recommendation of a friend and was not disappointed. The drinks we had were delicious and unique. I had a drink with burnt honey. I now like burnt honey. Who'd have thunk. The atmosphere is a singular experience for a coffee shop. Where most places would make a coffee shop look like a garage as a decor gimmick, this place is an actual garage dressed as a coffee shop, with ample seating, lounge areas and this super nostalgic Americana flavor. This is coupled with super friendly service from the baristas whom genuinely appear to appreciate your patronage and take pride in their craft. Highly recommend checking out Gremlin Garage when you're in the area. I'll be back for my burnt honey, because trying to make it at home was a bad idea. read more

I didn't have any issue finding parking on the street. 2 hour max. Easy to find. It is literally a garage. What I loved is how clean and neat everything appeared. Lots of places to sit or take pictures . The baristas were so sweet to not only myself but my service dog. I ordered my favorite, an Americano. Service was fast & my coffee, it was delicious! Hard pass. Burnt beans and they could not even make a decent latte. If you can't make a simple latte it's not a legit coffee place. My husband's banana latte was overly sweet even for him that loves super sugary stuff. Definitely, an influencer driven haven, but not a real coffee drinker destination. read more

Very cool bike coffee concept... love the theme and decor , nice place to hang out. Had the caramel banana latte which is flavorful and right on the dot of sweetness, caramelly and that banana flavor was just right with the cold foam binding it together. My husband got the hot salted caramel cappuccino in the fall menu, it's a smaller size drink , not as sweet but not a favorite. We will try the other drinks next time. My husband and i have been wanting to try this place!! we stumbled upon it through here, Yelp and instagram!! Its honestly such a cute place!!! The service is amazing!! The pastries are deliciousn, the coffees are soo good!!! I love how theres plenty of space to sit at big tables or tables with couches!! This place was top tier. Super cool ambiance. As soon as you walk in you are greeted with smiles and amazing service. The drink selection is so fun and unique. I got the mango sticky rice matcha which is the way to go for all matcha lovers and for all coffee lovers get the s'mores drink (totally forgot the name). Then we went to the Lucas Museum of Narrative Arts. The last day, we encountered something that never happened before at a hotel. There was a sound, the bath tub was filled with brown water and I think was waste from the toilet and the floor was starting to flood. So I went to the front desk and ask if there was a restroom nearby, so she directed me to a few doors down and I told her that our room was starting to have water on the floor and brown stuff in the bathroom. She said she didn't know about it, will have someone go to our room. As I opened the door to the restroom she told me where the restroom is, was filled with water on the floor, and so I didn't go in and reported it to the same person working the front desk. The maintenance person was there before I got there. Then there were more water on the floor, he said he'll call someone else to help. But floor was filled with more water, so he decided to move us to another room. They had decided to comp the room on the last day.

There are plenty of pictures so you can see what you are getting into before you make the drive, pay for parking, and walk over. No, but I heard my wife's vows clearly during the outdoor ceremony and didn't worry about my hair going rogue in the breeze. Unfortunately, I had attended outdoor weddings that had limited ability to come up with a contingency plan. This detail was important for us to keep in mind when selecting a venue. It was also important that we had the flexibility in selecting our vendors, including our late night bites. With some vision, creativity, and a fabulous wedding coordinator, our wedding was truly memorable.

I visited this establishment and encountered a employee by the name Crystal, whose behavior was unprofessional and disrespectful, including loud and inappropriate conduct. This was my first and only experience here, and it was disappointing. I have decided not to return to this establishment in the future. Employees should receive training on proper customer service to ensure professional and respectful interactions at all times. I stopped by this coffee shop on a whim and was pleasantly surprised! The name is a bit confusing since there's no clear coffee signage, but I found it just fine.
