My husband ordered the Brown Sugar Maple Latte and absolutely loved the rich, warm flavors. We also shared the Ham and Cheese Pesto Croissant, and it was delicious--light, buttery, flaky, and filled with great flavor. Everything tasted fresh and thoughtfully prepared. One of our favorite parts was the outdoor seating area. We loved dining outside and enjoying the beautiful weather while sipping our drinks and relaxing. It is unfortunate that as I was browsing reviews, another very recent review touched upon the service experience here too. I came in today and was served by a blonde cashier who felt cold and unfriendly. She was very bubbly and warm towards the patron (who was also a white woman) before me, who maybe seemed to be a friend or a regular. They were chatting for a bit and when it came to be my turn at the register, her face completely fell and she did not welcome me or say any greeting. Just.....silence........so I awkwardly ordered my drink. Once I said my order, she turned her head to the specials menu, and had a cold, blank expression, which made me think that it was out or that they couldn't do what I asked. I asked her if the drink I ordered was available, and there was a long pause before she dryly laughed it off and said that she didn't register what I was saying. It felt like a lame excuse and it felt so awkward; so I just tried to be as polite as possible and continued with my order. I wanted to just sit down and leave asap. It was so disorienting because she had acted in a completely different way with the girl before me. I just shrugged it off as a bad day, but when I consulted my friend about it, she said that the same girl acted in the same way towards her. This is a really cool coffee house to visit even just to get a few cool photo shots. Ambiance is an industrial type but nicely decorated. Service is great, they took our order super fast even though that they were quite busy. This place has your basic coffees plus some specialty drinks and quite a few different Matcha options like with Pistachio Cold Foam. Unfortunately I couldn't try the Matchas variety with cold foams since they were not dairy free. We ordered a regular Iced Ceremonial Matcha with almond milk and a Cortado with almond milk. Hidden house used to be one of the best coffee shops in OC probably 7-10 years ago. It was one of the few places with good coffee beans and a large seating area for groups to gather or study or even work. Fast forward to today it feels like any other coffee shop in OC. Their coffee beans aren't amazing compared to places that specialize in roasting and sourcing beans and there are some negatives as well. Parking is an extreme struggle most times I go on the weekend and it has gotten crowded which makes seating hard. There is a sign at the entrance that may say something like reserved for event parking, which I think is for the church near Hidden House Coffee, but keep driving through. There are several spots allocated for HHC patrons and they are marked. This visit, we ordered a black iced coffee with vanilla cold foam, brown sugar maple latte, bagel bomb, and bacon cheddar scone. They make their own syrups and the coffee was good. I really enjoyed the filling of the bagel. If they sold it, I would buy it! I'm going back just for the bagel bomb. I've never had a savory scone but it was quite delicious. It was firm on the outside but fluffy on the inside. They have indoor seating as well as a spacious patio in the back. I've been going to Hidden House since they first opened. It remains my top favorite cafe in OC to work, study, or just grab a drink. I've also visited their cute wooden cabin location in SJC. This Santa Ana spot is a gem, tucked away in a neighborhood, an old brick warehouse, with a parking lot conveniently located right next to it. There's just something magical about Hidden House...not just the amazing drinks (smooth coffee), house-made pastries, and the aroma of freshly roasted beans but also the vibe. The place is always clean, and you'll often see regular local customers. You honestly can't go wrong with any of the drinks here (especially their seasonal...and we all know their strawberry puree, pumpkin foams..etc are always freshly made in house). My personal favorites are the espresso tonic, pistachio cold brew, and just a standard classic latte. Their house-made pastries are also a must! They have one of the best banana cakes and they'll even heat it up for you. Lately, I've been struggling to focus while studying for a certification exam, so I've been coming here every weekend to stay motivated with a drink and a slice of warm banana cake. Found this spot by chance. We were headed to 6100 but the line was insane and drove by this place and decided to pop in. Best happy accident ever. Coolest little coffee shop with beautiful brick interior/exterior. Staff was super sweet and gave my little one a sticker. Parking was an issue since the streets had construction, they do have several spots in the parking lot but were full. To park , you have to pay $10 . This was my first time visiting so I didn't get what they were known for but would definitely only order their coffee if I visited again. I come to Santa Ana twice a week for work, and I like to stop by Hidden House sometimes to finish work while sipping some yummy coffee. I love to sit on their cute back patio, which has plenty of seating. Parking is in a public lot nearby, which at first glance seems like it charges you parking by the hour - but you actually don't have to pay if you park in the "HHC" spaces. I made the mistake of paying before, so I want to warn my fellow yelpers! My only gripe with Hidden House is the price of their drinks... The matcha is extremely disappointing, I was hoping since most cafes have taken more initiative with their matchas they'd be up to par, but you can see it's a chalky green with lack of flavor. I love that the coffee bar is located right in the center of the space and the seating is all around (with plugs conveniently located for your devices). You can sit at the bar, grab a table for two, or even sit outside in their large and sunny patio area located in the back of the shop, which is a bonus since it lets you enjoy the green space rather than being on the curb next to the street. Customer service is top notch here. They offer free dog treats for your furry friend (saw lots of dogs stopping by during my two-hour work sesh in this space). The girl at the register this morning was very helpful when I asked what kind of food they offer besides pastries, I ended up getting a burrito.
