We also shared the Ham and Cheese Pesto Croissant, and it was delicious--light, buttery, flaky, and filled with great flavor. Everything tasted fresh and thoughtfully prepared. One of our favorite parts was the outdoor seating area. We loved dining outside and enjoying the beautiful weather while sipping our drinks and relaxing. The drinks were decent, but the service felt pretty indifferent throughout our visit. When we ordered, the interaction felt very transactional, with little friendliness or engagement from the staff. It is unfortunate that as I was browsing reviews, another very recent review touched upon the service experience here too. I came in today and was served by a blonde cashier who felt cold and unfriendly. She was very bubbly and warm towards the patron (who was also a white woman) before me, who maybe seemed to be a friend or a regular. They were chatting for a bit and when it came to be my turn at the register, her face completely fell and she did not welcome me or say any greeting. Just.....silence........so I awkwardly ordered my drink. I asked her if the drink I ordered was available, and there was a long pause before she dryly laughed it off and said that she didn't register what I was saying. It felt like a lame excuse and it felt so awkward; so I just tried to be as polite as possible and continued with my order. I wanted to just sit down and leave asap. It was so disorienting because she had acted in a completely different way with the girl before me. This place is a vibe! Very cute inside and outside. Parking is free at the lot next door, as long as you park in the spots that say "HHC.". All the baristas were friendly and patient, as it was our first time here and were a little undecided. I ordered and egg and cheese sandwich on a croissant, delicious. This is a really cool coffee house to visit even just to get a few cool photo shots. Ambiance is an industrial type but nicely decorated. Service is great, they took our order super fast even though that they were quite busy. This place has your basic coffees plus some specialty drinks and quite a few different Matcha options like with Pistachio Cold Foam. Unfortunately I couldn't try the Matchas variety with cold foams since they were not dairy free. We ordered a regular Iced Ceremonial Matcha with almond milk and a Cortado with almond milk. There is a sign at the entrance that may say something like reserved for event parking, which I think is for the church near Hidden House Coffee, but keep driving through. There are several spots allocated for HHC patrons and they are marked. This visit, we ordered a black iced coffee with vanilla cold foam, brown sugar maple latte, bagel bomb, and bacon cheddar scone. They make their own syrups and the coffee was good. I really enjoyed the filling of the bagel. If they sold it, I would buy it! I'm going back just for the bagel bomb. I've never had a savory scone but it was quite delicious. It was firm on the outside but fluffy on the inside. They have indoor seating as well as a spacious patio in the back. Hidden House Coffee is such a cute spot. I love that there is a whole parking lot which is rare to find in downtown Santa Ana. I've come here at 7am on a weekday, 4pm on a weekend, and the vibes and friendliness of the staff has always been consistent. I love trying unqiue seasonal drinks but I also ask a lot of questions in case I dont like them... and the staff always explained the drinks to me without making me feel bad for interrupting them! Ive tried many drinks here, their pour over was so smooth and came in a fancy bottle, and their strawberry matcha was sooo much better than any other strawberry matcha I've had and it turned out they make their syrup in house! I've been going to Hidden House since they first opened. It remains my top favorite cafe in OC to work, study, or just grab a drink. I've also visited their cute wooden cabin location in SJC. This Santa Ana spot is a gem, tucked away in a neighborhood, an old brick warehouse, with a parking lot conveniently located right next to it. The place is always clean, and you'll often see regular local customers. You honestly can't go wrong with any of the drinks here (especially their seasonal...and we all know their strawberry puree, pumpkin foams..etc are always freshly made in house). My personal favorites are the espresso tonic, pistachio cold brew, and just a standard classic latte. Their house-made pastries are also a must! They have one of the best banana cakes and they'll even heat it up for you. Lately, I've been struggling to focus while studying for a certification exam, so I've been coming here every weekend to stay motivated with a drink and a slice of warm banana cake. I love to sit on their cute back patio, which has plenty of seating. Parking is in a public lot nearby, which at first glance seems like it charges you parking by the hour - but you actually don't have to pay if you park in the "HHC" spaces. I made the mistake of paying before, so I want to warn my fellow yelpers! My only gripe with Hidden House is the price of their drinks... The matcha is extremely disappointing, I was hoping since most cafes have taken more initiative with their matchas they'd be up to par, but you can see it's a chalky green with lack of flavor. This was my first time visiting so I didn't get what they were known for but would definitely only order their coffee if I visited again. The almond milk drowned out the matcha and I could not taste matcha at all. They even have an outdoor patio so you can come here with a large group. I got a seasonal drink: brown sugar maple latte. It was delicious! Hidden house used to be one of the best coffee shops in OC probably 7-10 years ago. It was one of the few places with good coffee beans and a large seating area for groups to gather or study or even work. Fast forward to today it feels like any other coffee shop in OC. Their coffee beans aren't amazing compared to places that specialize in roasting and sourcing beans and there are some negatives as well. Parking is an extreme struggle most times I go on the weekend and it has gotten crowded which makes seating hard.
