My husband ordered the Brown Sugar Maple Latte and absolutely loved the rich, warm flavors. We also shared the Ham and Cheese Pesto Croissant, and it was delicious--light, buttery, flaky, and filled with great flavor. Everything tasted fresh and thoughtfully prepared. One of our favorite parts was the outdoor seating area. We loved dining outside and enjoying the beautiful weather while sipping our drinks and relaxing. It created the perfect atmosphere to slow down and enjoy the experience. The atmosphere was welcoming, the drinks were excellent, and the food was just as impressive. We love this place and have been coming here for years now but today was a shitty experience from the lady behind the counter. I couldn't find a way to contact them through email so this is my only option. I went in to get coffee beans and a cold brew per my usual monthly visit with my pup. There was a tall woman behind the counter this time. We went through the typical spiel of what can I get you? Comes with a cold brew, etc etc. But after I walked away, 3 of her colleagues came up to chat and show pictures. As they were chatting I heard her say "I ain't got time for cold brew" and look directly at me. Then they split up and she went to stand at the other end of the counter while the 2 people she was chatting with came behind the counter and started sharing pictures or whatever. When one of our drinks came noticeably sour and I asked if it could be remade, they did replace it without issue, but the interaction felt more like an obligation than an effort to ensure we had a good experience. It is unfortunate that as I was browsing reviews, another very recent review touched upon the service experience here too. I came in today and was served by a blonde cashier who felt cold and unfriendly. She was very bubbly and warm towards the patron (who was also a white woman) before me, who maybe seemed to be a friend or a regular. They were chatting for a bit and when it came to be my turn at the register, her face completely fell and she did not welcome me or say any greeting. Just.....silence........so I awkwardly ordered my drink. Once I said my order, she turned her head to the specials menu, and had a cold, blank expression, which made me think that it was out or that they couldn't do what I asked. I asked her if the drink I ordered was available, and there was a long pause before she dryly laughed it off and said that she didn't register what I was saying. It felt like a lame excuse and it felt so awkward; so I just tried to be as polite as possible and continued with my order. I wanted to just sit down and leave asap. It was so disorienting because she had acted in a completely different way with the girl before me. I just shrugged it off as a bad day, but when I consulted my friend about it, she said that the same girl acted in the same way towards her. This place is a vibe! Very cute inside and outside. Parking is free at the lot next door, as long as you park in the spots that say "HHC.". All the baristas were friendly and patient, as it was our first time here and were a little undecided. I ordered and egg and cheese sandwich on a croissant, delicious. I just got off the Pacific Surfliner and was looking for coffee and gluten free dessert to enjoy on an especially beautiful day! I found Hidden House on Yelp and saw a picture of the brown sugar maple latte - yum! When I went in the nice person asked what I would like and I showed him a the Yelp picture and asked for oat milk and only single shot of espresso. He made a delicious latte and was very nice ! They had a nice selection of gluten free desserts and I had the wonderful Pina Colada cake. I sat and worked for awhile. Great experience for coffee, dessert, and ambiance. This place has your basic coffees plus some specialty drinks and quite a few different Matcha options like with Pistachio Cold Foam. Unfortunately I couldn't try the Matchas variety with cold foams since they were not dairy free. We ordered a regular Iced Ceremonial Matcha with almond milk and a Cortado with almond milk. Hidden House Coffee parking is located on that big lot passing the location. There is a sign at the entrance that may say something like reserved for event parking, which I think is for the church near Hidden House Coffee, but keep driving through. There are several spots allocated for HHC patrons and they are marked. This visit, we ordered a black iced coffee with vanilla cold foam, brown sugar maple latte, bagel bomb, and bacon cheddar scone. They make their own syrups and the coffee was good. I really enjoyed the filling of the bagel. If they sold it, I would buy it! I'm going back just for the bagel bomb. I've never had a savory scone but it was quite delicious. It was firm on the outside but fluffy on the inside. They have indoor seating as well as a spacious patio in the back. I've been going to Hidden House since they first opened. It remains my top favorite cafe in OC to work, study, or just grab a drink. I've also visited their cute wooden cabin location in SJC. This Santa Ana spot is a gem, tucked away in a neighborhood, an old brick warehouse, with a parking lot conveniently located right next to it. There's just something magical about Hidden House...not just the amazing drinks (smooth coffee), house-made pastries, and the aroma of freshly roasted beans but also the vibe. It truly helps me focus and get into the zone for studying/working. I can honestly sit here for hours and be productive. Everyone is always super friendly and helpful. The place is always clean, and you'll often see regular local customers. You honestly can't go wrong with any of the drinks here (especially their seasonal...and we all know their strawberry puree, pumpkin foams..etc are always freshly made in house). My personal favorites are the espresso tonic, pistachio cold brew, and just a standard classic latte. Their house-made pastries are also a must! They have one of the best banana cakes and they'll even heat it up for you. Lately, I've been struggling to focus while studying for a certification exam, so I've been coming here every weekend to stay motivated with a drink and a slice of warm banana cake. I'm not usually someone who stays at cafes for hours but Hidden House is that kind of place. The vibe is just right and the drinks make you want to slowly savor the moment. Hidden House Coffee is such a cute spot. I love that there is a whole parking lot which is rare to find in downtown Santa Ana. I've come here at 7am on a weekday, 4pm on a weekend, and the vibes and friendliness of the staff has always been consistent. I love trying unqiue seasonal drinks but I also ask a lot of questions in case I dont like them... and the staff always explained the drinks to me without making me feel bad for interrupting them! Hidden house used to be one of the best coffee shops in OC probably 7-10 years ago. It was one of the few places with good coffee beans and a large seating area for groups to gather or study or even work. Fast forward to today it feels like any other coffee shop in OC. Their coffee beans aren't amazing compared to places that specialize in roasting and sourcing beans and there are some negatives as well. Parking is an extreme struggle most times I go on the weekend and it has gotten crowded which makes seating hard. Nice cafe ! Strawberry scone was very tasty more like a cake than traditional scone but delicious nonetheless AND sizable portion. Drinks were perfect temp and taste. Seating is a little hit or miss nice they have lots of tables but not quite enough and wooden blocks for sitting aren't great really comfortable. Most people at tables were there for long haul, settled in with computers and such but it's great if you need a place to get out to do work esp with the rain but doesn't leave many options for others coming for coffee and a chat. read more

The matcha is extremely disappointing, I was hoping since most cafes have taken more initiative with their matchas they'd be up to par, but you can see it's a chalky green with lack of flavor. Both were excellent --- the Maple Brown Sugar Latte was indulgent and not too sweet. We sat both inside and outside to read. Found this spot by chance. We were headed to 6100 but the line was insane and drove by this place and decided to pop in. Best happy accident ever. Coolest little coffee shop with beautiful brick interior/exterior. Staff was super sweet and gave my little one a sticker. I ordered the $13 breakfast burrito with bacon that included eggs, potato, cheese, and 2 sauces on the side. The pistachio matcha latte was okay. This was my first time visiting so I didn't get what they were known for but would definitely only order their coffee if I visited again. The almond milk drowned out the matcha and I could not taste matcha at all. I also thought pistachio was a syrup as I read the flavor out when ordering (and asked if the syrups were made in house), but received a cold foam drink. Assuming it is my fault for not specifying or perhaps there is no pistachio syrup, only foam.
