This is a cute little gem in costa mesa. Its located right off the freeway tucked into industrial buildings. I always drove past it, but this time I stopped and wanted to give it a try. I am so glad I did. They have a unique menu. I tried the Palo Santo latte, it had a sweet smokey flavor. I was skeptical at first but I am so glad I ordered it. It had such a great balance with the added espresso salt. I appreciate how their syrups are homemade. The staff was quick, accomodating and friendly. Went on a Saturday and there was no wait and the staff was super kind! Service - 10/10 We had a lot of customizations to our drinks (1% milk, less sugar, etc) and they were super accommodating to our requests! They also explained the different pastries they had, as well as their different seasonal drinks. Ambience - 10/10 There was a lot of seating including an outdoor section. I could see this being a great place to work from. There was also Jenga and Ping Pong which was really fun! Coffee/Matcha - 8/10 I got the strawberry matcha. I found that the matcha flavor was very faint and the color itself was too light. Overall the taste was good especially since I had reduced the sugar but I think the overall matcha flavor could've been stronger. My bf got the Maza Latte which was pretty yummy albeit small in size. Stopped by since an undisclosed coffee shop down the street was too crowded and I'm sorry but it was just not my fave :( I was disappointed by the fact that there was no almond milk option and then I asked for some stevia...no stevia. In fact I didn't see any coffee add-ins out for customers. You had to ask and see what they had behind the counter. Service was good but the lack of options and the flavor just didn't hit for me. It was a very small spot so if you're looking for a place to come hang out and spend some time there, it might not be the spot. Not sure how busy they get. Cute hidden coffee shop but nothing stands out to me tbh! They have a lot of competition nearby that offers better drinks & bigger work spaces. Since it's located in a business complex, most of their customers are from nearby businesses it seems. I ordered the palo santo, which was too salty & came in a 12 oz cup or smaller?? I guess I can't expect much given the price but not sure if I'd choose to come here when there's lion & lamb coffee down the street. Best strawberry matcha ever! Service was so friendly and fast. The center it's in is super cute, the outdoor seating is next to a nice jasmine covered structure - great spot for a cute coffee date. Right off the freeway exit, inside the Cultural Plaza, Buenas Coffee is at the center of this building. It's a cozy small coffee shop. The staff are friendly and seem to care about your experience....I had questions on some of their specialty drinks on the menu. The coffee shop gives off a modern, intimate vibe but not cramped, with both indoor and patio seating--great for a chill catch-up or a solo work (aka me running in and out!):) I got Taza de Maza - so rich and creamy! I think it's similar to Spanish Latte. It has a strong coffee flavor which I like. Next time, I'll be brace to try the "Coffee Soda", which is tonic water with espresso. It comes unsweetened but you can add sweeteners. What I ordered: - Cordial This iced drink is comprised of an espresso and oat milk base with orange blossom aromatics, toasty cacao, and creamy vanilla. The presence of orange was very minimal for me, wanted more of it actually. The cacao was subtle, not overly dominant but noticeable. Hidden in an unlikely business park and connected to a co-working space is Buenas. They have a classic coffee menu and a signature menu that leans towards Mexican flavors. Today, we tried the palo santo. Frankly the barista explained what all the specialty drinks were but I was too sleepy to absorb the info. The palo santo was a surprising delight. What a ridiculously overpriced coffee shop lol. $4.00 for a regular brewed coffee that's not even hot. And $6.00 for a Latte! For these prices these coffees should be made so well that Jesus would be proud to drink them. But they tasted very lackluster. I laughed when they had the option for a "tip" on the credit card screen. They should be tipping me for giving me a lukewarm $4.00 brewed coffee to drink. The inside of this place is cozy and if you're lucky you'll snag one of the three tables. Inside was clean and tidy so one star for that. This might just be the new working spot for me in OC. I live in Irvine and I've been struggling to find a place that meets all the quintessential needs for a good coffee shop working session: 1. Fast, free WiFi, 2. An abundance of outlets, 3. Decent quantity of indoor and outdoor seating, 4. A parking situation that doesn't make me want to scream. On top of that the coffee is amazing and the vibes are top tier??? I'm sold. This is the place. Although to be fair, depending on when you go the seating can be limited, but there is a coworking spot next door (that I have yet to check out) and lots of outdoor seating too. This place is definitely worth coming by a little early to snag a table. I got the cafe de olla and an elote pan dulce. The cafe de olla was delicious - so flavorful and refreshing without being watered down. The elote was just okay, I have had better, but I will try out a few other things next time to see if there are some other pastries here worth pairing with my coffee. Super quiet and chill cafe, perfect for studying or working. I got the Cafe de Olla and it was a delicious spiced syrup Americano (2 shots). The person helping me out was very helpful and detailed about explaining what was in the coffees as it was my first time there. I also got the oatmeal, which was great and warming. There was great music playing, and the ambiance was bright and inviting. What I loved the most was that there were outlets at all the tables! The barista was friendly and quick; she was nice about explaining the different seasonal drinks and popular drinks from the regular menu. A quick Google search led us to this tucked-away coffee shop nestled between commercial and office buildings. It was quiet and nearly empty, aside from two other customers. I imagine it sees more foot traffic on weekdays when office workers are in need of a caffeine fix. We tried the Palo Santo and Dr. Good. I personally enjoyed the Dr. Good--a refreshing blend of espresso and mineral water (possibly Topo Chico?). While I didn't pick up much of the cherry flavor, I didn't mind since it still hit the spot. The Palo Santo, on the other hand, was underwhelming. Though it was recommended as a customer favorite, it lacked depth and flavor in the serving we got. The shop itself has a cozy vibe with decor that fits the "Buenas Coffee" theme nicely. That said, for the price, I still tend to favor Vietnamese coffee shops, which consistently offer bold flavors and generous portions at better value. read more
