We booked Greycard Photography for our wedding. John worked with our tight budget and gave us a great package. We had our engagement photo shoot in downtown Los Angeles at 3 locations: chinatown, bunker hill/public library and a car wash with a art piece from El Mac. John was so accommodating and went with our idea even though it was a lot of driving around. We had memorable pictures and I even used the engagement photos as a guest book for our wedding reception! For the wedding we had Matt as our photographer. I was a bit worried since we did not meet Matt until the day of the wedding. Matt was great! It was super hot that day yet he was so professional and had great shots. My only disappointment was that I was mostly in contact with John and when it came to the wedding pictures Matt missed one or two that I had wanted. At the same time, there was so much going on and we were in a tight schedule since we had a late wedding that a couple of things were overlooked as a whole, but its part of the experience. I am IN LOVE with how our family photo session turned out with Greycard Photography! I have never really done family photo sessions and decided to make the effort this year for the first time. I happened to come across their Yelp page when searching and was impressed with how quick they responded to my inquiries and answered any questions I had. I was able to reserve a session with them in a quick turnaround since I was hoping to use these photos for our holiday cards. John was really easy to work with during the session and really knew where to go, how to place my family, the different groupings, and ESPECIALLY how to get my 2 girls (5 and 3 years old) to pose to create a natural smile out of them! That is not an easy task at all. I can say we had a good time too despite the sore cheeks at the end. The best part was that we got our pictures in less than 48 hours and I still cannot stop looking at them! The initial conversation I had with greycard was great. I thought this was going to be the best choice for my wedding photos. Our photographer did not have a lot of creativity. Our poses were all the same. I thought the photographers job was to direct the models to change their poses and capture great photos. I did get a few poses in but that's because I had to tell the wedding party how to pose. I did get a lot of photos so that was good. The quality was good, but they don't edit the photos. So really you are paying over $2500 for unedited photos that you have to download. The album was nice. read more

Made an appointment with this photography group through a bridal expo. On the day of my appointment I drove 2 hours to their studio in Brea to meet with a photographer and no one ever showed up, the office was abandoned. I decided this is not the experience I want on my wedding day in which my photographer would not show up. Very unprofessional. Response to comments: I did call three times. The appointment was on the weekend, it's been over a year now but I believe it was a Saturday or Sunday appointment. By abandoned I mean locked, lights off and no response to knocking. Our wedding day was the disastrous testimony of Murphy's Law. An exaggeration? Perhaps. It was a South Asian wedding so sometimes finding a photographer who is both artistic but familiar with the customs can be a challenge and John nailed them both. I worked with Jason for my engagement shoot and wedding day and absolutely loved him. We even hired him for a family photoshoot separately because he was so good, and those photos were spectacular too. Jason is super friendly and funny and he made everyone really comfortable quickly. He was able to get us into pictures and poses that really reflected US specifically - not the generic hollywood (or bollywood, if that's what you're into - no judgement) poses that most people ask for. I hired Greycard Photography for my engagement shoot and wedding last year October 2015 I Ioved the engagement pictures. However, John did my shoot for the engagement shoot and I did not know there would be a change of photographer the day of my wedding. The wedding photographer did not know the schedule for the wedding. Also, I was unhappy with some of my wedding pictures. I wish I could have been told sooner about the change of photographer to meet him. The other photographer was not detailed and I can see my husband's cell phone in his pocket and on one picture I can see the wires from the microphone. Hands down the best decision I made about my wedding! John and Lucy are an amazing team to work with and made picture taking super enjoyable during all of the wedding craziness. They were always calm and patient with us. I made an appointment at a bridal expo-I would NOT recommend. In one word the photographer seemed homophobic. The person we met was NOT expecting a same sex couple and was very awkward about it. He was quiet and couldn't wait to end the appointment which was about 15 minutes filled of awkward silence. This review is long overdue... I got married last year and hired John based on his photographic talent, which I saw in his sample albums at a wedding show. He has a great eye to capture both the artistic shots you will cherish years after the wedding, and the memorable ones with family and friends that will let you relive the excitement of your wedding day. Beyond his photographic talent, John and his team are VERY professional. He and another photographer photographed only my wedding day, but in hindsight, I wish I had hired them for my pre-wedding events, too. I've heard horror stories from friends who have used other photographers, (and unfortunately have a horror story myself regarding my pre-wedding photos), but I never experienced anything but professionalism from John and his team. They were on time, were polite and did their jobs well, got our photos to us on time, only shared things on social media with our permission and were very clear with instructions on our album and digital prints. I would recommend John to anyone looking for a wedding photographer. I had such a great experience not only with him, but also his team of talented photographers.
